Toronto **First Annual Charity FanForce Softball Tournament** (Forceball)

I don't know if I can make it out tomorrow, but I'll definitely make it out on Sunday. I think I should be able to, too. I'm sure I only have to work in the morning.

I hope it's not as cold tomorrow as it was today.
Well, I'll be there around 6, coming straight from work, but after standing for 6 hours straight I don't know how much good I'll be.

 

Just a reminder, Bestview Park is located just east of Bayview on Steeles and we'll meet at about 4pm.

If you're coming by TTC from Finch Station, take the 53 Steeles East. I believe the stop to get off at is two traffic lights east of Bayview, there will be a plaza with a gas station, Second Cup and Blockbuster -walk south on Laureleaf to Bestview Park.

Argh! I might not be able to make it to the practice. I didn't know the field we were gonna meet at is around the Scarborough area...if I leave now, i'd probably miss the practice.

I still want to be a part of the tournament, tho! I'm guessing(well, hoping it isn't any time before noon, that it(might gave to work 'till 11 that day).

 

Too bad you couldn't make the practice. Our first game is at 10:00am, so we will be having to leave T.O at about 7:45-8:00am.

If you can't make it to the first game, can you make the second?

That's cool, Dan! Someone can definitely hook you up with a ride.
And we're definitely not planning on spending the night there, I seem to remember it being said that the day would be over a 6 or 7.

 

Okay, some details that need to be mentioned:

Our first game is starting at 10:00am, so we should be at the park no later than 9:30. This will give us time for a brief warm up and to sort out batting order and positions. So, we'll have to leave T.O by 7:45-8:00. I'll post driving instructions once I get them. If you are driving down and can offer a lift to those who need it, please post and let's get that organized.

A reminder, YJN has asked that all players donate $5 in support of Women's Place. I can collect the money and pass it on to Chris or Debby.

Good things to bring: Hat, Sunglasses, sunscreen, baseball equipment, lawn chair and a bowling ball.

If there's anything else, just post and we'll get it sorted out.

attack? no, we wouldn't do that. I guess I should say, the bowling ball is optional.

I got the address to the park from Debby. It is:

Thorold, On.

www.mapquest.ca will be able to provide driving instructions from your starting point to the park. It didn't work when I entered "131-159" so I just did "159 Elgin St."

Okay, so it seems I won't be able to make the first game, but when is the second game going to start? (I actually just called work, and I have to work from 7:00am-2:00pm)

 

Here is the tentative schedule:

10:am - First game TLL vs. YJN

11:00- 11:30 50/50 Draw and ScoreBoard Change Over

11:30 Second game TNR vs. SCJ

12:30 - 1:00pm - 50/50 draw, SN change, lunch, Field gets repainted

2:00 pm Game (either losers play off or final game)

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the timing is going to work out for you to make it to the second game.

 

Yeah, with my luck, I had a feeling I wouldn't even be able to make the second game.

If I didn't just starting working at this job, I would have tried to book it off, but yeah.

My health hasn't been great of late, but I'll try to be there to cheer you guys on and donate to the cause.

 

That's too bad that you can't make it, but work definitely is a priority. Hopefully we'll continue playing every now and then after the tournament, so you may still have a chance to play some baseball.
