First Drink: From the Journal of Benjamin Lars Kenobi

Summary: Thirteen-year-old Luke has his first drink of alchol and Ben is not too pleased.

I can't beleive this! I'm going to KILL the Sambatian Ambassodor!

We(My son and Padawan Luke and I) were sent to Sambata to negociate a treaty between two tribes and the negociation was sucessful.

My son went with a bunch of young people to talk. Then he comes to our sleeping quaters drunker than anyone I've ever sceen. (Even more than Padme's Uncle Bauld at our wedding)

He comes in and slurs "Hi Master Dad! How's ya doin'". Then slumps on the couch.

He put his drink on the table before his little gymnastic rutine. I go to taste the red liquid.

It tastes like fruit juice, but wait. I then I have a strong aftertaste in my mouth.

THIS IS AN ALCHOLIC BEVERAGE! THE BOYS BEEN DRINKING! I'M GOING TO KILL HIM!

Right now my son looks at me from the couch and just laughs.

LAUGH IT UP YOUNG MAN! WHEN WE GET HOME YOU'RE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE!

Now he doesn't look too happy and he rushes to the fresher.

I hear the sounds of reching. He's throwing up in the toilet.

I'M GOING TO HAVE A GOOD STERN LECTURE ABOUT UNDERAGE DRINKING! MASTER TO PADAWAN-- FATHER TO SON!

But then something stops me--it's a presence. The presence of my former Master, Qui-Gon Jinn.

"Don't be so hard on the boy, Obi-Wan."
he tells me.

"What am I supposed to do Master. He's underage, my Padawan, and also my son."

He smiles at me.
"I remember a Padawan on Frunic who at a young age drank a little too much."

"I remember that too, Master."

"Do you remember what the Padawan's Master did to him?"

"Yes Master. I do."

"Good now do what he did to his Padawan, Obi-Wan."

He fades away. Leaving me to do what I must do.

I go to the fresher, see my son finished reching, give him a drink of water, and help him to bed.

You see, I was that young Padawan.

Qui-Gon of course was my Master.

I sit by Luke's bed with a cold cloth to cool him down.

He turns to me and says.
"I'm sorry Dad I'll NEVER do that again."

I smile at him.
"It's alright we eventually learn from our mistakes."

Before he closes his eyes, he says this to me.
"Dad, I love you."

Before I close my eyes, I say this to him.
"I love you too, my son."

Nice one. LOL, you do realize that "underage" drinking exists only in the puritan USA? Oh I'm just kidding... This story is very cute!

But, on a tangential note, have you guys noted how under-21 clerks can't even scan an alcoholic beverage at the supermarket? It's absolutely absurd.
