Syra, NY First meeting - 30/9/05

The first meeting for Fanforce Tasmania will be at 11am Next Friday the 30th of September at the Uni library. We hope to have more people.

Amaya has already contacted me reagrding a poster and plyers to put around campus to get more members.

Of course, we want to attract people outside uni. We have our own e-mail address and hope to have a website ince we get up and running.

 

Good luck folks- I hope your Uni Flyers gain some interest.

You'd be surprised how many closet Star Wars followers are out there!

I'm sure theres a ton of Tasmanians with a high midichlorian count!

I've done one or two banners recently. If you want, you could give me some pointers and I could give it a shot. That is, of course, if none of the TasFF crew wants to give it a shot, as I imagine they deserve first priority!!!

Hi and the UKs Northern Chapter rep elect I would like to wish you well on your first Chapter meet.

We have our second official meet tomorrow. This is our first true big meet however as there are going to be 10+ of us.

I am going to meet people from the FFUK board for the first time next week.
Meets are a great way of making friends!
How great would an international meet be?
Any of you ever visit the UK?

The first meeting of Fanforce Tasmania was 30/9/05 in the conference room of the university library

Attending were 6 members

Discussed was:

What a FanForce is and what it does
Fundraising
The possibility of being a uni society, this would mean that non-uni members would be covered by insurance.
More members, espcially in Hobart was discussed.
A general list of items and suggestions was introduced and discussed.

We also talked about having meetings outside uni (eg in a cafe) as non-uni members might be uncomfortable meeting in the university library.
Also mentioned was having a movie night, much like in the Anime/Manga club where a lecture theatre is booked. But as SW is licensed this might present problems.

A proposed event was a watching of ROTS DVD on November 1.

Holding a BBQ at the Uni was also mentioned, but final arrangements have not been made. We will do this at the next meeting - check the thread on the next meeting for the time and venue, as both are being decided upon.
