First meeting of Middle Georgia FanForce was a success.

. . .and a BIG success.

The meeting began at 8 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble on Tom Hill Sr. Blvd in Macon.

There were seven fans present (and one wife - Mrs. LittelJedi is a real trooper). The meeting started with a meet and greet. We then got into the "meAt" of the meeting.

First discussed was organization of the group. We will remain informal(no officers, dues, etc.) for the time being. A "City Rep" will be decided upon at the third meeting (when we become "official.") All members were encouraged to use the FanForce messageboard.

A name for the group was suggested. It was decided that a thread would be started for suggestions and comments.

There were many ideas for promotion and recruitment. From messages at the local library to posting on the local television station's "Community Calender." Other promotional ideas were t-shirts, bumper stickers, hats, etc. Other ideas will be discussed at future meetings, including a possible website.

Future meeting ideas that were tossed around included book discussions and movie viewings.

RemyCat shared her pics of Dragon*Con and the group discussed costuming.

We have tentatively scheduled the next meeting for the first weekend in November. We will make arrangements to attend the opening of AOTC IMAX at the Mall of Georgia.

The meeting adjourned at about 10:15 p.m.

I do hope to see some of you at the Hothlanta Rebels IMAX event on Nov. 2nd. More details should be forthcoming shortly.
