first model

    Hi i just started with 3ds max about 6 days ago and im working on a ship. there are many things i dont know so tell me what you think. 1st pic:main ship

    OK, firstly, you've got the basic shape, which is good. The detail on the second image looked like it was coming along very nicely (you seem to be catching on well for just under a week of work).

    Secondly, there is no need to triple post. It's understandable because you're new, but if you make a mistake in your post, you can jusr edit the original, and not have to make a new one (you get 90 minutes to do so).

    Lastly, I'd suggest being a bit more specific when you say "post a texture tutorial". I'm sure there are many texture tutorials for Max, each covering different aspects of the process of texturing.

    That's not very specific either, you need to understand the types of texturing rather than "Advanced Detailed Texturing"


    Look into Unwrap UV texturing, this is the ultimate texturing method that everyone ends up using (unless the object you are texturing can be easily textured with the UVW Map) so look at the 3ds Max Tutorials and User guide about Unwrap UV, then search around on the internet for tutorials.

    the engines. They arent the best because I rushed with them to get it
    done as fast as possible.

    well, first of all I drew the ship on paper, then just add things along the way!

    That's going to be a nice model so far... keep it up! I really like your eye for deatail. I'm working with max for 7 weeks now or somthing, and your doing things that leave me wondering how :oops:
