At what should have been a festive celebration of a most beloved leader, a small group of citizens commemorated His naming day with an act of war against the planet thought responsible for his death.

The Holy Essence, and Blisters

Chevor wished he knew what his master was talking about. But at the moment, his feet were humming the song of the hurt, and his headache had decided to take up an offensive position against the pain medication he had taken before breakfast.


The Great Oneness, and An Invisible Guest

"The man is sleeping, " Aduman said, waving away the persistent sand fly which refused to leave him alone. "The man has been dead for centuries. The soul of Garahaldin is off-limits to us. So I can't gather up the deceased masters in the Council chamber, no matter how entertaining that might be."


The Masters Are Mirthful, and Is Pudding Sacred?

"A man is never more truthful than when he acknowledges himself a liar."

Chevor stepped up onto a large rock that afforded easier access to the cave entrance. "What do you mean?"

The laugh he received as a response only confirmed his master was in a far better mood than the previous day, when they first encountered the spirit of Garahaldin. The visitation from the ancient ghost actually seemed to motivate Aduman to continue the journey.

Upping the thread to post a link to the latest installment of my series challenge responses using the first sentences..."And The Wombfish Said..." continues with Aduman discovering something terrible about the manner of Garahaldin's death. And he discovers Garahaldin is not the only dead person with a voice.

The Rendezvous Bay Interlude

?For many days, we had been tempest-tossed.? The beachcomber had the attention of a captive audience of sea birds as he leaned forward and pointed a bony finger towards the blue sky. ?The clouds were gathered low on the horizon, black and gray and swirling like a whirlpool just over our brows.?

Aduman stood away from the demented orator and his non-witted audience of the avian persuasion. This had certainly been a strange so far, starting with Chevor?s affliction of malus oceanus, and culminating in the discovery of Garahaldin?s ghost at his homestead. Yet he wondered if the sight of an old man who clearly spent too much time in the sun speaking to a flock of gulls was the most bizarre incident that had taken place in the past four days.

who knows, I've not seen anything from Twitch (her last login date was back in Feb) in quite a bit of time... As for Twich's Twisted Sisters... well Z was busy with that whole awards thing, and Lola was on vacation, but she's back from that...

Personally, I think my stalker is sleeping on the job or something...


Sometimes, I've considered stealing the thread out from underneath them while they're gone... but, then I'd start to worry about what they'd do to me when they returned

 

Truth be told, I was also on the Beyond Fanfic Awards team, then was the victim of reduction of force when my employer went bankrupt, and went on my yearly family vacation, one which I planned for about 20 people.

Boy, I've had a busy summer.

And Kidan is right, I am now back.

If it was a paying job, I would have been canned months ago.

Actually, RL and DWB were two major factors in my allowing this thread to fall through the cracks. But it wouldn't take much to get this back on track if there's interest.

I would love you to death actually. I can't speak for Z though.

 

I'm interested. I need to write another vig anyways.
