Oh, but gay scout masters would be such a threat to the children.

Child molestors, though, are apparently a-ok.

Especially given that some of those who helped keep the gay ban in place for everything Boy Scout did the old "gays = pedophiles" mantra.

days like today make me feel completely fed up with this world.

I'm struggling to find the words to describe my feelings right now, other than anger and disgust. Juliet, they're the same leaders who would have kicked me out had I been public about my atheism, and I was both an Eagle and a Summer Camp staff member.

    Ugh.

I'm feeling where RC-1991 is coming from here. Wasn't physically able to stay in boy scouts, but while I was there was also an atheist boy scout.

The irony is that in their attempt to avoid public backlash the organisation is made to look worse in the long run.

I bet you a dollar someone will twist this into a defence of the scouts' anti-gay policies.

I was a Boy Scout for several months in third grade, glad I didn't stay in there any longer.

(I got out because I didn't like staying after school on meeting days)
