I am both enamored by the Galaxy Camera's beauity and shaking my head at the pointlessness of a point and shoot camera that runs freaking android and has a 4G connection.

 

I'm perfectly happy with my non-Android/4G Canon 50D.

 

I tend to think point in shoots are one of those things that are obsolete given how good camera on smartphones have gotten. The camera on the Nokia Lumia 920 for example is unreal. It has better low light performance than I've ever seen in a small camera.

 

I agree. I'd take my 4S camera over most point and shoots any day, and it's not even the best of the cell cameras. SLRs are too bulky for everyday photos. (I rarely use mine anymore) If someone could stuff a camera that rivals a good SLR into a pocket-sized point and shoot, then I'd consider purchasing one.

 

Isn't that what all these compact switchable lense cameras are trying to do? =b

I hate it when the air conditioner makes sounds like a transformer blowing up. Its scary. x.x;

 

I finished it on a jet. Luckily Delta has WiFi...

Speaking of transformer explosions, I saw a squirrel give it's life for a spectacular fireworks display the other day. It decided to make a nest on top of a large transformer, as you can imagine, it didn't end well. Have I ever mentioned I have ADHD?? Oh look, a squirrel.... I'll go back to my corner now.

My wife did a bunch of research and got a Pentax, I think K series? DSLR.

Really great camera. Best thing about Pentax is that their lenses are all standard sizes, so old & new all work on your new camera - so you can find some used old ones that won't set you back as much.

But yeah, my iPhone 4 camera is perfect for most point-and-shoot stuff.


On the issue of history, yeah it was funny going into university and realizing what you were taught in high school was a bunch of garbage.

"Archduke Ferdinand was killed and Germany started WWI!!" Lol.

 

I honestly didn't have that misleading of a history education in public school as I've heard many others have. They were pretty explicit and even graphic when it came to European-Americans' treatment of Native Americans and slaves. I remember being in 9th grade getting quite perturbed at what they were telling me...

 

I never once watched that show.

In hindsight after seeing that, I think I might regret it now.
