It's funny to see how fake people are on Facebook.
I always get annoyed when I see those 'privacy' posts on FB. My rule of thumb is if you don't want the world to know, don't post, even if you do have it set to 'private.' I have friends that work for a government security contractor, and what those guys are able to do these days is just scary.
I feel completely sorry for people who post as "Ahsoka" or someone fake.
Let's compromise. Grievous can refuse to read any posts that don't deal specifically with Star Wars, Seerow can post every minutiae of her life and I can continue to lurk LACWAC and never post.
Is it's UI similar to Win8?
One of the guys I work with just got a GS3, it's a pretty nice phone. I just didn't like the size. I'm one of those weird people who prefers a smaller screen.
Oh I meant the people who photoshop away blemishes of themselves.
But seeing Ahsoka Tano banter with a ARC Fives is revolting as well.
Seems legit, and that's why I am here.
You only need to be what, maybe 13 to sign up on TF.N? I think that is what GG was getting at more than it being a jab at anyone.
And its a public forum. Go ahead and share the most intimate details of your life, just don't expect everyone to take such information the same way. I for one felt very uncomfortable being basically made a part of a domestic dispute that is none of my business.
I had a bunch more to say but deleted it. I hope everything turns out well for everyone in Seerow's family.
Oh God. HUGE pet peeve of mine. -_-
Sarcastic pet peeve? No, I see it as something to laugh at. It's entertaining to know that people spend time posting as someone fake.
Walks into disco.
Walks out of disco.
Yeah f*** this noise. Keep calm and carry on bitching.
I watched the second (I'm told final) season of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the span of about four days this week. Pretty freaking sweet.
Love this song. There's a 15 minute version I youtube I listen to when I need to get frustrating hw assignments and projects done. Wish it were the soundtrack to my life.
EDIT: Oh crap this is a different version!
The version I'm used to is this one:
JCC'ers who regularly visit their socials, would chew this thread up like a chainsaw cuts through paper.
Um, yeah. Three words of advice for posting over there: grow crocodile skin. Getting butt-hurt over there is a choice (arguably it is a choice anywhere but my point stands).
I tried watching it, but it's got nothing on JLU.
Wow, coming in late to a lot of drama here. First,
@Seerow : I also hope everything turns out OK, especially for the kids. No matter how idiotic people can be and how much they may deserve whatever comes to them, I hate to see innocent children dragged through it.
Second, though, I can see
@GGrievous 's and other's points here. However, I think
@anakinfansince1983 nailed it as she often does. It really is up to the individual regarding how much they want to share, but nothing shared on a public forum is private.
I also (like
@Seerow ) don't have a Facebook page (just like I didn't have a MySpace page). Part of it is the privacy, but a bigger part of it is that it just seems like a silly waste of time to me. My real life friends know my e-mail address and my phone number. I was on Twitter for a while, but I recently quit it. I wasn't tweeting, I was just using it as a news feed by following news sites and other organizations (like the official Lucasfilm SW twitter, for example), and I only followed that on my iPhone. But I have better ways of getting that news on the phone or online, with less crap to sift through. Then the final straw was looking at tweets that were made by regular users in response to real news tweets, and seeing a tweet wherein a user said "Stuck on the toilet with no toilet paper... fml." Idiot.
Finally, totally agreed on the JCC. Now that is some brutal, no-holds-barred social discussion. I like it from time to time, such as participating in some heated discussions recently after the school shooting.
I've lurked in the JCC for well-over a decade... I love that place.
Its like a basher's-dream, on steroids. Mosdef, not for the faint of heart.
Every Troll is born in the JCC.
Everything is personal in the JCC.
Everything is the worst in the JCC.
Every childhood is ruined in the JCC.
And most importantly, every post is fair game... in the JCC.
Sounds remarkably like OT on NBR. =b
Don't let your loved ones venture into the JCC. They will disown you and you will never see them again. True story.
The JCC is a great place to post, I give it fourteen thumbs up.
I don't see why it has a bad reputation, exaggerated, imagined or otherwise.
