So, something that happens almost hourly in TFA forum? They do shut that stuff down quick up there.

There is a difference between arguing and discussing. In the TFA forum it is a very, very fine line and usually gets taken way, way too far.

Been here since late '98- early '99 (different username), and never been banned  And I was really an annoying twit when I was younger :p

Anyhow, yesterday I decided that it was about time I tried to get ahold of the volume 2 DVD of the Clone Wars microseries, since I didn't buy that back when it was available. Couldn't find it anywhere except eBay, where it was crazy expensive (seriously - around 30-40 dollars + the same amount in shipping). Thought to myself "OK, that's not gonna happen".
But then I thought I could check out British Amazon, since the shipping is way less from the UK to Sweden than from the US to Sweden. I did find it there...
and it cost about four (4!) dollars, including shipping. Needless to say, I bought it :D

I can't remember if I've been banned or not. I remember trying to post here sometime around 1999-2000. I remember posting a new topic in some forum with a thread already open about it and basically getting called a moron for it and getting into a fight over how I was a noob. I rage quit the forums on like the same day I started. I can't remember if I was banned though or not. I was a huge Jurassic Park fan and remember I was posting in a Jurassic Park forum at the same time, since JP3 was due out in 2001. That forum had much more relaxed rules (so long as you weren't posting pornographic images or giving death threats, you could pretty much get away with calling people idiots).

I know when that movie had come out and AOTC was due the following year, I started posting on some other Star Wars board, before giving this board a shot again shortly after AOTC came out, since it seemed like everyone on the other board recommended the Jedi Council forums. Then I've been on and off active ever since. Peaking around 6 months before a film's release and for awhile afterward, then going through stretches where I'd not be very active, since there wasn't a whole lot to discuss. I spoiled myself for AOTC and ROTS. This time I'm going spoiler free for TFA. I haven't bothered looking at those forums at all. Rebels for the moment is like an alternative distraction. Though there is a certain satisfaction that watching the live action films gives me that the cartoons will never be able to replicate.

And I am looking forward to Jurassic World, as Jurassic Park is perhaps my favorite move of all time. The Lost World was decent up until the San Diego sequence, IMO. And I'd rather ignore JP3 and hope that Jurassic World is a good film. I was also happy to hear the news of the new Alien film. That's another excellent franchise in my mind. Or at least Alien, Aliens, and the director's cut of Alien 3. Resurrection, AvP, AvP:R were awful. Prometheus.... just didn't have a point to it. It was so bizarre and didn't answer any thing. I feel like it needs a sequel just to clarify what was even going on in the first one: the black goo, why the Engineers wanted to use it to attack Earth, what the aliens are and why they appear in artwork and killed the Engineers, yet had the most convoluted life cycle.

    PSA to all Kids:

Enjoy snow while you're young. Seriously. Spend all the time you can throwing snowballs, fortifying your snow base, and carving out snow angels.

Later on in life, you will curse the weatherman when he even looks like he is thinking about the possibility of snow accumulation.

No I don't live up north anymore, but yes I have and no I don't enjoy snow. This seems applicable, but replace snow with ice:

Pfftttt...I'm an old fart and still love snow. I would say it's because I'm Southern but a lot of people around here go ape**** when the meteorologist predicts anything below 50 degrees.

We had freakish weather today. 65 degrees this morning, we got a massive storm with wind so bad that I was concerned about tornadoes, and it was 45 degrees when I got off work.

Depends on the season. I like four seasons and I don't like a lot of heat and humidity.

    So...winter: 25
    Spring: 65
    Summer: 80
    Fall: 55

Maybe its just where I have spent a lot of my time growing up, but ideal temp is somewhere between 75 and 85*F. If I were to list by season Fall and Spring in the 60's, Winter 50's, and Summer 80's to 90's. But lets be honest, the weatherman doesn't always get what he predicts in the area that I live.

I've been to South Carolina before and really liked the temps and climate there. The heat wave in 2011 with the temp being 100* at 10PM at one point was ridiculous. You could walk outside, stand in the shade on the sidewalk and still feel like you were baking from the heat radiating from the pavement.

It's a little too warm for me here. I lived in the DC area for a few years as a child and the climate was a little more seasonal there, meaning we had some variety, I prefer that.

Agreed. He's had some ****ty luck recently.

A few positive things about that crash to takeaway: The plane appears to have come to a rest with the cockpit oriented in the correct (not towards the ground) direction, no fire apparent (in the racing/track rat community if your car decides to throw a weenie roast and you are the weenie, exiting the party is the first order of business), and the plane wasn't a twisted wreckage or in pieces.

Not be a wet towel, but the negative here is that it looks like it was a very hard landing given that it looks like the wings have folded up towards the fuselage and that the wheels dug into the ground. If you watch NACAR/Formula 1/WEC/or any type of motorsports or have read up on how and why cars have crumple zones, you will know that for an object to dissipate energy it has to either break apart or transmit it to another source. Often times, the human body is a recipient.....

Hope he feels better, and not being a follower of his past times or what he does outside of acting, if this is his thing (flying old planes) gets back in the saddle to continue the hobby.
