    I hiked the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi today. Been wanting to do this for three years and finally got the chance.

    I'm going to the Rockies for the first time next month, so hopefully I can get some decent hiking in. Better than my daily hikes up my 12-step staircases. :p

    Last time I went hiking (many moons ago now) I ended up tearing up my pack. I took it back to REI (lifetime warranty through the manufacturer, Lowe Alpine) and since they don't make it anymore, it came back looking like a patchwork quilt.....

    That sucks. I've had the same pack for years, it's a North Face one. I don't hike as much anymore since I started running and doing tris but I still love it.

    Yeah, it was a bit of a bummer. I still have a Kelty that I had at the same time, but the Lowe Alpine (both are internal frames) had so much more space to put stuff in. I tried out an external frame before the Lowe Alpine, and while it was a bit cooler to use it just wasn't nearly as comfortable to use for extended duration IMO.

    Damn, we got a crazy intense lighting storm going on right now. Haven't lost power, but I won't be surprised if our lawn is covered with branches by tomorrow.

    Depends on what the plot would be. Honestly, I think he and Gareth Edwards share some characteristics in the films they produce so I think he wouldn't necessarily fit in with the numbered episodes well, but one of the anthology films I'm sure would fit him.

    Yes, but it has been some time since I did. I thought the vision of the film was fantastic, and complex. I think I own the DVD, but for some reason I just haven't watched it again.
