I've been here quite a while, and was a regular on a Jurassic Park board before that. I can attest that posting in debates or putting forth ideas regularly in such places did help my writing skills probably more than any book reports or arguments I had to write in school.

It also contributes to my long winded posts that people have commented on in the past. I'm always as thorough as I can possibly be in putting forth viewpoints that most probably won't bother to read when they see a wall of text.

I had that same issue with another forum I was apart of. Use to write quite lengthy posts only for someone to cherry pick two sentences. Was ever so frustrating. In my years of blogging, especially writing for the UK Huffington Post, 500 words was the max most readers could digest. After that, people wouldn't bother.

In something completely irrelevant: if I'm ever lucky to have a Japanese boyfriend, he is going to look like this:

Wow I've been here two years. I can barely believe it honestly. It feels like just yesterday I hit the one year marker.

Well now I have been officially on the forum for 3 years and damn it's weird to look back and think of how long ago that felt and was.

Anyway here is hoping to another great 3 years!

So something I learned today is that some BlockBuster stores are still in operation (privately owned) even though the company went bankrupt and sold most of it off back in '13. Anyway one of the still operational stores has a twitter titled The Last BlockBuster and it's hilarious!

So ya as of 2017 there are at least 12 left in the U.S, several dozen in Mexico, and almost 30 in Australia. I feel bad for any kid who has never had the joy of going to a video store.

I am so glad that electronic books never really took off the way some feared they would since we still have book stores.

 

I feel my social posts are an insight into a slow, descent into madness.
