FF:QLD Five things you need to know about the Transformers Movie

As those rumours have said, there may be only a few Autobots and Decepticons featured, so Vortex, being a minor Decepticon, might not be in it, pathing the way for Soundwave to be a chopper. His Cybertron form was different again.

But a "Roll out!" order from Prime would be amazing, Autobots transforming and charging out onto the plain....

Yeah, there's only about 6 characters on either side in the movie.

Autobots: Optimus Prime (Truck), Bumblebee (Camaro), Jazz (Exotic car), Ratchet (Not said, but most likely still an Ambulance), Brawl (Police Car)

Decepticons: Megatron (said to be a plane in the script but may end up being a tank), Soundwave (4ft tall, changes into a stereo/boombox), Devastator (Tank), Scorponok (Guess), Vortex (Helicopter), and Starscream (Jet), Bone Crusher (Truck).

Character names may be changed and swapped around before next years release.

EDIT: I just checked out Wikipedia and they're pretty accurate - they even mention Ironhide being in it so I'm now very excited!

Also, I'm a little confused about Brawl - everywhere lists him as an Autobot but in that photo I posted he has a Decepticon symbol.

 

Yeah, even doing further research on him reveals that he is a Decepticon so it does make you wonder what the deal is?

I thought Prowl was the police car. Brawn might be the Autobot, and Bwarl the Decepticon? Bah, too tired to check.

I would still like to see a scene with a dozen or so Autobots in it...

 

Yup, Prowl was the Autobot police car and Brawn was something like a Humvee - Brawl I've never heard of before.

But remember, many of the names are most likely going to change... The only ones completely confirmed are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Megatron and Scorponok.

 

I would have thought that Starscream would be a forgone conclusion?

 

You'd think... but the script mentions 2 Decepticon plane characters; One is Megatron and the other is pretty much known as 'un-named Decepticon'.

It was a shame to read that the original voice actors for Jazz and Starscream have passed on but I can still hope they get the original Optimus Prime voice and not use someone like George Clooney.

 

I doubt this is how it'll go down, but fear. So much fear.

I have begun to fear for this movie... They could get it right, but there's far too big a chance that they could frell the whole thing up completely... But I shall remain cautiously optimistic, and pray that part of my childhood is in good hands...

This guy has created a transformers costume, that actually fully transforms with him inside it. Pretty impressive!

 

i love michael bay's movies so i'll be seeing this no matter what.

 

You know he made Pearl Harbour right???

touche yes i know...i have the extended directors cut - if only for the attack itself which is well done. And the directors cut is soooo much better. Rated R and everything

 

Peter Cullen has been announced as the voice of Optimus Prime!!

That's one thing they're doing right.

The image I have seen of Optimus, is a truck with a long front nose. Um, the fans are going to hate it if it is really Prime. The Blue all-over with orange FLAMES down the sides of the nose and cab.

Urgh. Include me in the "keep him as per G1 please!" crowd. I'd still see the movie, though. I'm also concerned that they won't keep to the original story of them crashing to Earth and being revived a thousand years later by Teletran One.

Sigh...

There is a very small chance that this is Rodimus Prime, with the Truck-under-black-tarps really being Optimus Prime. I really, really hope this is the case.
