Woah. 8 utterly gorgeous closeup shots of the film's stars (and no, I'm not talking about Shia). It has, for the first time that I'm aware of, a picture of Jazz (who looks way cool).

The level of detail on these things is astounding. ILM's modelling department sure earned a cookie or two this time round.

I think Megatron looks awesome! It even seems like if (when) he finally takes an Earth-based disguise in (probably) the next film, he may look a little more like the Megatron from the cartoon.

EDIT: But where's Bonecrusher and Scorponok?

 

Yeah, I was surprised by just how good Megatron's actually turned out looking. He's weird and all, but actually very scary and cool-looking.

 

Two things jump out at me from those pics:

First, that's recognisably Jazz.

Second, that's recognisably Megatron. I can imagine him rasping out "Prime!" in the G1 voice. Though I'm sure Hugo Weaving will do him justice.

I agree NeecH. Just give him the bucket helmet and the rabid fans will put down the kitten.

There is just enough in Prime to link him back...the mask over his mouth, the windscreens in his chest, his 'helmet'. Not so Protaform Megatron.

Hm. The technology to do this does exist, but if you take a look at those washing instructions at the bottom of the page, you'll see how frightfully impractical it is. Great for making an impact and showing of your l33t, um, shirt-wearing skillz, but I can think of many better and more useful things to spend money on than a t-shirt with a badly animated piece of product placement slapped across it chewing up batteries and making me a target for random hazings. Though perhaps the accumulated body odour of a non-washable t-shirt would turn would-be assailants away...



Now if it was a t-shirt that transformed into a giant robot, it might be a different story.

Like, wow. The trailer wasn't perfect, it needed a better, longer beauty shot of Prime, and a nice, long money shot of a transformation, but frakin' Starscream makes up for it. Holy crap, he's going to be awesome in this movie.

But what we see now of the actual transformation sequences looks just plain amazing. The level of intricate detail is so cool.

 

Michael Bay, I'm sorry that I doubted you. That looks FRACKING AWESOME.
