I guess Cinder and the overall Imperial implosion led to heavy fleet losses, but three times seems like a lot. My guess is that you have a lot of independent ships jumping aboard the NRDF as something more akin to privateers than career officers: snag a short term enlistment, help drive the Empire out of local space, and go back to shipping or smuggling once it all blows over in a year. Battlefront II spoiler

I mean, that's basically what the crew of the Corvus does.

The Corvus is one of my favorite parts of Battlefront II. The Imperial Corvette is such a cool looking ship, I'm glad it made it's way into the canon. I just wish you could walk around in it like in Mass Effect..

Any thoughts on what the ships appearing to escort the Raddus might be?

We know there's that Nebulon looking thing and the really wide pancake CR90 like vehicle, as well as some ships from the trailer that looked like gallofrees. Theres simply no way to tell though without better shots.

Yeah, there are at least two distinctive escorts with the Raddus. I love that side profile, it reminds me a bit of the EU Viscount, a bit of the Providence-class, and a bit of more traditional MC80's.

    LOVE IT. [face_love]

I wonder if the Quarrens had anything to do with the design?

I'm wondering if the Raddus was built at the Telaris Shipyards on at Mon Cala itself. It's still kinda unclear in the new canon when Mon Cala is liberated, I'm hoping The Rebel Files clarifies this a bit.

Also- I hope that the Raddus isn't a one of kind vessel. I'm hoping at least a handful were built prior to the Military Disarmament Act.

I expect that 3 of them were built, but the first was a 500 meter long "prototype"

Guys, go grab The Rebel Files. It's a great history of the Alliance, plus it has all kinds of Fleet Junkie goodness in it. We learn the names of the three Hammerhead corvettes from Rebels, details on the Telaris shipyards, Raddus's list of ship types (by class) for the Scarif attack, info on development of the B-wing, info on the U-wings and their role, annual output for KDY's yards, and SOOOOOO much more!

Some of the ship images are, others are original. Overall, art in the book is exceptionally good!

Any good new pictures of Nebulons or the Profundity? Or any ships we've heard the name of but not seen visual depictions of? I checked some trailer for it and I was pleased to see the DP20 made hard canon after those little poorly detailed background pics in the comics and atlas. But how am I supposed to get the book if it doesn't release til JULY NEXT YEAR?

There is a good outline/schematic style pic of the Profundity. No new Rebel ships, we do learn of four DP20 Corellian gunships operated by the Alderaanian exiles, plus a brief reference to Kesselian gunships too!

Well, considering that most of the time people talk about the size of a fleet they're talking about the number of ships: not the total tonnage or firepower of the fleet... three times the size may work. Considering that the Empire once again seems to have elected not to deploy their support ships alongside their star destroyers... the New Republic could easily have three times the number of ships and only equivalent firepower, since they brought their support ships (Nebulon Bs, CR90s, etc...).

A few cool Fleet Junkie tidbits from Rebel Files:
    • B-wing prototype was turned over to Verpine hives of Slayn & Korpil by Bail Organa.
    • Verpine eliminated the super laser due to power drain issues and eliminated the gunner from the bottom for balance.
    • U-wings are once again described as rare... kinda contradicting what we keep seeing. Though Ackbar note on their rarity seems more about the Rebellion than the NR.
    • Home One was second battle ready MC80, followed by the Nautillian.
    • Five SSD's are named, all are said to be Executor-class. The Emperor's Eclipse is confirmed to be of this class.
    • Kuat's output of ISD's is listed as 2500, SSD's as 13. No specific context to whether this is annual or not, but I'm assuming the former.
    • We learn that the DP20 Corellian gunships in the Alliance Fleet at Endor were from an Alderaanian exile group that Lando introduced to Ackbar.
    • Following the destruction of the first Death Star, Ackbar pulled most of the remaining Alliance fleet units from the Overic Griplink to evacuate Yavin Base.
    • This saved the base, but the Empire took advantage of this and seized most of the Griplink (main route into Mon Cala Space and to Telaris).
Really great stuff, I love this book!

This is enough for me to headcanon the Aegis from Empire and Rebellion: Razor's Edge (known only as an "Alderaanian gunship") as a DP20.
