Yes, Alias is good. Unfortunately, I'm busy on Sunday nights and usually only see half an episode. :(

Here's the long version... (Didn't write this, btw.)

Sydney and Vaughn wake up together. During their bedroom chatter, Syd mentions that it's her graduation day and discusses her desire to leave the agency. Kendall later refuses Sydney's resignation, adding that as a civilian she would no longer be able to see her mother. Irina, hoping to push her daughter away from the CIA, says she will refuse to see her if Syd stays with the agency.

At the Long Beach Aquarium, Sark Neil Caplan, a Cal Tech mathmetician, his wife and child. They're taken to Switzerland, where Sloane shows Caplan the Rambaldi manuscript and explains his 30-year-search for artifacts.

As Syd prepares for her graduation, Sloane calls, ostensibly to congratulate her. He admits he knew she and Jack were double-agents and that he used them to free himself of The Alliance. He warns her not to get in his way. At the CIA, Kendall briefs Syd on Sloane's kidnapping of Caplan, whose knowledge of Knot Theory ? how geometric objects fit together ? would enable Sloane to build a weapon out of the Rambaldi artifacts. Syd wearily realizes the battle against evil is eternal, and rethinks her resignation.

Sydney tells Dixon that he's been cleared, and offers him CIA job. Dixon, however, feels manipulated by Syd never wants to see her again. He goes home to his wife and confesses his life of deception. Despite his vow to be honest with her in the future, she later says that she'll leave him if he joins the CIA.

Marshall, on the other hand, has already adapted to the CIA and has found a Sloane associate ? Holden Gemler, a cybernetics specialist in Van Nuys. Jack discovers Gemler's body, sans one eye, during a search. Marshall reveals that the eye is actually a tracking device and they deduce that Sloane hired Gemler to deactivate his own Alliance-implanted tracking device. Marshall accesses the memory in Gemler's eye, which shows Sloane killing Gemler and mentioning a chartered C-123 cargo plane from Shipman.

Shipman is a smuggler-operated airfield in the Mojave Desert. With Vaughn posing as an arms dealer, Syd sneaks in and downloads the plane's data recorder, which will reveal Sloane's final destination as Switzerland. Syd repels an attacker, sending him into the plane's propeller.

With Caplan agreeing to help Sloane in order to save his family, Sloane plans to break into a Zurich bank that holds Caplan's invention, a magnetometer, which can measure magnetic fields and fit the Rambaldi pieces together perfectly. Sloane talks to Emily, telling her that their Tuscan villa will be ready in a few more days.

In Switzerland, Vaughn contacts a mercenary employed by Sloane and nearly sets him afire before he reveals the location of Caplan's wife and child. With the family rescued, Syd has Marshall triangulate the calls from a cell phone she found on a kidnapper and finds that they originate from the Zurich bank. Syd and Vaughn race through the streets to get there in time.

At the bank, Sloane, who has changed his appearance to that of an elderly man, gains access to the vaults under the pretext of making a $50 million deposit. He shoots the bank manager and finds the magnetometer. Syd and Vaughn arrive as Sloane and his team are leaving. The standoff is broken when Sloane says he has rigged the lower level with enough C-4 to destroy a city block and if he doesn't exit in 30 seconds, an off-site team will detonate it. Sydney and Vaughn toss their guns to the ground. Sloane throws Sydney a set of keys, telling her that she will drive him out.

    Phew! [face_shocked] :D

    Yeah, no kidding! Very creepy!

I haven't watched the show on a regular basis, just on and off, so I probably missed a lot along the way. Do we know *how* this 16th century Rembaldi guy was able to make designs for advanced weapons? I mean, all the explanations I can think of don't seem to fit the universe: aliens, time travel, lost civilizations, precognition...

I'm definitely creeped out wondering what this new design will be for, though. It must be something big, if Sloane was willing to sacrifice the neutron microwave thingie just to get the missing piece of manuscript.

Yeah, first the sickening version of "Pop Goes the Weasel," now the church scene! :( How horrifying!

Taeriel, the whole Rambaldi plot has yet to be revealed. I don't think anyone knows the whole story yet. I'm interested to find out how 47 relates to him, that number shows up everywhere!

Well, a very busy episode, that's for sure. The Jack/Irina thing was...bizarre, the Vaughn thing makes sense, EvilFrancie is even more creepy, (the best sex of his life! [face_shocked] Come on!) And despite everything, I still don't know if Irina is really in league with Sloane. Hmmm. Well...

Uh... hey SB, Any chance you have a synopsis of the whole show so far? LOL
I just finished watching. Great show!, but I am soooo confused. LOL
If you dont have something to explain the whole history, can you just tell me who the good guys are & who the bad guys are? :)
    Alliance? SD-6?
    Whosawhasa?

That whole beginning thing in the plane & then with the parachute & how they showed you the end, then re-trace the steps... - that was COOL! :D
The electrocution was a bit hardcore. Didnt expect that. Nice surprise. :)

    I'll keep watching.

Ok, here's the gist of it. Sydney was recruited into SD-6 when she was in college. She believed it was an undercover branch of the CIA. When she told her fiancé she worked for the SD-6, (which she wasn't supposed to do,) they killed him. That's when she found out SD-6 was an enemy of the CIA. She began working as a double agent, and discovered her father was a double agent as well.

To make things even more bizarro, her mother (who she thought died when she was a kid,) was actually a KGB agent who was assigned to 'get close' to Jack Bristow to pass on useful information. She faked her death, but has surfaced recently. She turned herself into the CIA, but has recently just escaped.

So, basically SD-6 = bad guys.
CIA + Syd + Jack = good guys.
Sloane (old dude on beach) + Sark (young British dude) = Very bad.
    Evil Clone Francie = Bad.
    Irina Derevko (Syd's mom) = ?

Now you're probably even more confused! [face_shocked] It's a pretty hard show to understand if you don't watch pretty much every episode. But once you get into it, it's pretty intruiging, plus it's just plain fun to watch! :D

I'm glad you liked it! (Well, most of it anyways.) ;)

Thanks so much! It makes a lot more sense now. Really!! :)

One question. Whats the name of the guy who made out with Francie... or was that her clone?
& why is he important? Does he actually do anything, or is he just Syds friend ?

His name is Will. (That was the real Francie, by the way.) He found out what Sydney does the hard way last season. To keep from being killed by SD-6, he had to have a drug injection, and publicly discredit all his journalistic work. Now he works for the CIA as an analyst. But yeah, he's basically just Syd's friend.

Wow, I really wouldn't want to be Sydney right about now. Her real mother betrays her...again, she finds out her 'mother figure' was alive...again, only to have her shot shortly afterwards. Ok, maybe I'm a bit envious of her cause she's got Vaughn, and can kick some serious ass, and gets to travel the world, but that's it! :D

There's no way to be sure, but I don't think Irina is a 'bad guy'. Sure, she might have her own agenda, but why turn herself into the CIA in the first place if her only goal was extration? Of course, this is Alias, and anything can, and does happen. I can't wait until the season finale, only a couple more eppies.
