    This is potentially bad news....

    By theINSIDER's Marc S. Malkin

Can "Alias" survive without its leading lady, JENNIFER GARNER? Producers are hopeful. Source tells me that Garner has made it clear that she probably won't be returning to the show next year for a sixth season. Producers are apparently betting on this season's new co-star, RACHEL NICHOLS, to save the hit series. She plays a new spy being trained by Garner. If she's a hit, they're looking to make her the show's next star. Garner's rep didn't comment. An "Alias" rep says,"I haven't heard that so I can't confirm that."

No offense to JG, but I'd be ok with that for a variety of reasons.

see, i can't see it being a show without her. that is just my opinion.

I am sure she is just feeling the stress of being pregnant right now....

She signed a contract for 7 seasons, so...

There's been a lot of drama surrounding Alias lately, so I'd take any info with a grain of salt. I think this will be Alias' last season anyways...

    One week to go . . .

The latest (that I've seen) T.V. spot with the "sounds of Sydney's life" theme was rather good.

    I can't wait 'til next week. :) :)

    Stupid show...

    Spoilers

Then in ALIAS is anyone ever 'really' dead???

I was watching the previews when Sydney says..."You killed the father of my child." *sigh* Too sad, I have enough real sadness. I don't know if I can watch ALIAS anymore. :(

I am on an ALIAS mailing list. I liked this one.

In the episode, after Vaughn's surgery, the Doctor tells Sydney that
Vaughn is in recovery and that she could wait in Vaughn's room till
he wakes up. Jack then says that he would do everything he can to
help them (Sydney and Vaughn) out.

Dixon then calls Jack and tells him about Gordon Dean. (Now, there
is an unspecified amount of time between Jack and Dixon talking and
Jack entering Vaughn's room. Enough time For Jack and Dixon to make
    a plan??)

The scene then cuts to Jack entering Vaughn's room and telling Sydney
    and Vaughn about Gordon Dean.

Sydney (to Jack): What are we gonna do?
    (CUT TO MARSHALL AND WEISS)
Marshall: Hey, I just broke about thirty federal laws. If I got
caught, I'll be sharing a cell with a guy named Bruno.

Weiss: It's white collar, more like Martha Stewart.

Dixon: I contracted our Italian friend. He's got the passports.
He'll coordinate the transport as soon as Vaughn is stable. What's
    the outlook?

Jack (on phone): Sometime within the next 24 to 48 hours, we hope.
    Weiss, you there?

Weiss: Yeah, I've got the blueprints of the Cape Town villa right in
front of me. We're gonna have no problem getting in, but we will
    need two teams.

Jack: You have my full authorization.

(Jack then starts talking about Prophet Five and looking at Vaughn's
room. Cut to Sydney and Vaughn talking while Vaughn is sipping
water. Vaughn goes to sleep, Vaughn flatlines and while the doctors
work on Vaughn, Sydney is unceremoniously removed from the room and
    the blinds are closed.)

If Jack did set up the water to simulate heart failure, would a
glance at the room, while he was on the phone, be a signal to the
doctors that Vaughn's "death" was about to occur and that the closing
of the blinds was to keep Sydney "blind" (no pun intended) to what
    was going on.

Was the discussion that Jack, Dixon, Marshall, and Weiss taken the
appearance of talking about 'Prophet Five' but was actually about the
transport of Vaughn, to Cape Town (or France)?

Was the two teams that Weiss mentioned, was one team for transporting
Vaughn and the other team the pallbearers at Vaughn's "closed casket"
funeral, of which Jack, Dixon, Marshall, and Weiss a part of? Who
better to be pallbearers than the four who knew that it was an empty
    casket.

    HMMMM some interesting thoughts.

This is from TV guide...I believe I said something simular the other day...hmmmmm

t sure looked like Michael Vartan's character was killed in Mas' shocking se opener. But since when does anyone on this show actually die? "If thing according to plan, he'll be back this season," reveals exec producer Jeff Pinl "We're writing an episode right now that Vaughn is in, and we have r planned." Vaughn could return as soon as December, before the ABC spy s goes on hiatus for Jennifer Garner's maternity leave. Vartan's manager firms that producers have asked the actor to return for up to three epist though so far no deal has been signed. Or has it? ?Shawna Malcom

Here's to hoping that the new blood will jumpstart Alias this season. If Vaughn's truly dead, then so be it, but if he's not, my hope remains that they will at least give us a decent storyline about his resurrection

Can't say that I'm really all that keen on watchin' a preggers Sydney kickin' @rse....

I have to agree...about Sydney. It is all rather depressing.

I did read that this is probably the last season...THANK GOD for TIVO. ALIAS & Smallville are on at the same time. *whew* Lucky me. :)

Well, last night's episode came and went rather uneventfully.

I understand that we're introducing new characters and all that....but I found the entire fare rather....well....boring.

A whole lot of talking about a whole lot of nothing going on in the episode.

So, we have another SD-6 scenario. I'm cool with that. But the way that Syd was able to talk what's her name into betraying them so easily, just didn't play right.

AND....why didn't she try to get any of the other "Agents" in the Prague office to leave as well? Granted, she had no way of knowing who was "in the know". But, I think it's safe to assume since Dean & Ilyria (Acker) were willing to sacrifice them all, that no one in the office was aware of their true affiliation.

Also, Sloane's encounter with Mr. Russian-man was pretty weak as well:

You are responsible for the death of my daughter. I must kill you now!

That is all true, however you will not kill me.

I have outwitted you! There were no other survivors!

Bummer. But....you still will not kill me.

Your daughter will die the same horrible death that mine did!!!!

Most likely. Yet.....you still will not kill me.

I have a gun & you are most clearly an unarmed fool.

    True.....see above.

AGGGGGGHHHHH!!!! Arvin Sloane....you have outwitted me again, regardless of the fact that I have the gun & you deserve to die.

    I'm sorry....did you say something?

    Oy....

I agree with Sith Slayer. I was bored also. I'm not sure where they're trying to go with the new guy agent (the "loner") or Sydney's weird reaction to him. It seems she's overreacting to him and the rather obvious way they're trying to make it seem as if there's tension between them. I hope they don't make a romance out of it.

I haven't really been impressed with Alias for a couple years now. It was probably after that whole "Syd's been gone for two years and now we have to deal with all the things we've done during that time" scenario. That seemed to me to be a mistake in taking two years worth of storylines away.

Anyway, I'm bummed if they're thinking of getting rid of Sydney. That would be a big loss.

and some more ALIAS stuff...Spoilers. YEAH! Sark is coming back!!!

From francine: You mentioned Jennifer Garner is going on maternity leave. Are they shooting episodes without her?

Yes, at least one. At least that's what I'm told. They're easing the transition by getting Rachel Nichols out there on a solo mission in early November. Syd stays behind.
    -----
From nives: Alias was great on Thursday--but I have a sneaking suspicion the Rachel is bad.

I have a sneaking suspicion, too, especially because Sark is going to "knock boots with a blonde." I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out who else it could be? Assuming Melissa George doesn't come back...And Syd doesn't discover peroxide.
    ----
    From tvfan103: Alias scoop now!

Well, since you asked so nicely. Do not keep your eyes off Dixon. He might not be what he seems.
