Time to practice the pirate alphabet!
Harr, now, 'tis good to go a'piratin'. *shoots undead monkey...again*
*looks startled then reaches for something....*
You and your telescope issues, pppfft.
Yarr, no answer to that now, eh Jack?
Maybe if'n you saw Mrs. Sid's new leather corset you'd er... *distracted* Now what was I talkin' about...
*goes to find the Mrs.*
Sooooooo we went Saturday, spent about six hours there and had an awesome time!
It's still going Sunday, catch it if you can! We were even thinking about going back, but I suspect the sunburn we got from not enough sunscreen may change that (ouchies).
Got some new leather stuff for my outfit and some new sources for stuff for the future. Prices for stuff there is very reasonable if not really low on some items. It's like a mini Ren Faire, except admission and parking are FREE. And since it's right across from where the Mythbusters folks do a lot of their filming, keep a weather eye out for them as well, ya never know.
Even got to try on a $900 leather captain's coat at the behest of one of the vendors who loved that I came back four times during the day to buy more of his wares. Didn't walk away with the coat though, I got me sights set on another outfit, yarrr. Did get mah sword rig, new belt, holster for the pistol, holster for the Mrs. and a leather pouch as well.
And let me tell you, I've heard more Harrr's in one hour there than fifteen years of riding PotC at Disneyland.
And yarrr, the scalawag shown on this page is none other than me old pal Stinky Pete Overstreet, harrr.
Yar, we do have low friends in high places nary everywhere it seems.
Nice!!! But remember... it's MY Ship!!!!
(Ok. on the calander for next year...)
Jack, Jaaack. Ya never learn, do ye Jaack. The Pearl belongs to no man, you least of all Jack Sparrow. B'sides, I'll just sail away with it again, harr. Y'know... you should just get used to that litt'l island o' yers, build a shack or such, ya spend so much time thar.
Hey Sid. Nice hat.
Why thank ye lass, although I need a bigger hat, my face got a bit cooked by the summer sun, yarrr.
An' ye can't see the stunning feathers either, bah, the wind kept knocking them down.
*Consults with all the other Jack's around him and checks to see if he has that ONE shot!*
Here's a link to the Northern California Renaissance Faire, to take place at Casa de Fruta.
Why did I post it here? Because there will be TWO weekends of "Pirate Invasions" for those that want to pirate out and who missed the Pirate Fest (which was awesome)!
*Yells out* WE HAVE OUR HEADING!!!!!!!
An' although ahm not intendin' to go in costume, there is also the Pirates of Emerson haunt too. And a bit o' intel we got from the pirate fest is that they are gonna be branching out and doin' some haunts for the season over the hill at the Boardwalk too.
September and October will be busy months for us, I 'spect.
Ahh yes, I attended the Casa de Fruta Ren Faire once. I had a grand time and would love to go again if the good Cap'n be willin'? Perhaps we be makin' a voyage of it, sir?
Found the flier ... the actual Pirate weekends are Sept. 15-16 and Sept. 22-23.
We're planning on being there!
We be making a voyage of it!!
No doubt another leaky rowboat ride, heh heh.
I'll have you know that there is ONE mast and ONE sail on her...and she's only temporary.
Yar, Guybursh Threepwood is the mightiest pirate to ever set sail upon the seven seas.
