ST For fun: what is the craziest rumour you heard?

Anyone, what is the craziest rumour you heard about the new film? Try and keep it fun.

My own idea is that, based upon real scientific breakthroughs announced in the news in recent days, that since a child can now biologically have three parents that somehow, GL anticipated this and that Han, Leiah, AND Luke have all three had a child together.

Just for fun i'll say, the one bout Luke Skywalker Turning to the DS!

 

I'll say Cyborg Luke turning to the DS.

 

For me, the film opening with a hand floating through space might just take the cake for most "Whaaa???"

Meanwhile, dark side Luke (especially dark side cyborg Luke) wins for most displeasing in my book. Hands-down.


But the most straight-up odd?

I honestly think it may be one particular member's resolute insistence that former wrestler Jim Hellwig (the 'Ultimate Warrior,' I believe) was cast to appear as a character (I think it was a mutant) from Byss.

There was no reasoning with this poster. It was a 'done deal,' and all we had to do was wait and see. The member absolutely would not be talked out of it.

And then, unfortunately, Mr. Hellwig passed away most unexpectedly, just about a year ago. One of the strange legacies of the rumor was that it was the first thing I thought of when I first heard the news.

Perhaps the other legacy is that I suppose we'll never 100% be able to call that poster on it (as they could always just say, "It was going to happen, had he survived").

As I say: Odd.

 

Who the hell is Leiah?

 

I heard Mark Hamill could be playing some guy called Luke Skywalker.

 

Gwendoline Christie's character Captain Phasma running off with 'Rey'

 

The one about the giant space tarantula.

 

Yes that one too about the hollow planet. And to think people even liked that rumor

Craziest rumor I heard was that we'd be getting our film in May 2015. Just think, we could be only 3 months away from the movie if that one held up.

 

Definitely the hand floating in space at the beginning of the movie. Don't know what's harder to believe: that rumor or that some think/thought it was real. Was it ever debunked?

 

It wasn't a rumor. Disney had the movie scheduled for May 22nd. When they moved it to December they immediately moved Tomorrowland into the May 22nd date as they had Star Wars there previously.

That's why we're going to see all the toys in stores in September and not closer to the release.

 

I will say though that the rest of it follows what we know about the rest of the first act of the film, with Rey and Han and Desert Planet.

 

Palpatine is a clone of Siddious...oh wait...

 

I bet Slash writers will get to that eventually.

 

Yeah, Tarantoola. Also, the one from the other day where the cyborg turns out to really be Tarkin.

Darth Plageuis is going to be the central villain of the film or Darth Vader will appear in a memory flashback sequence.
