For those who have seen it: How do you rate Attack of the Clones?

I just saw it for the 3rd time and my opinion hasn't changed.

Best Star Wars movie ever.

 

barns you said on page one that some fans are predisposed to hate the prequels. and i agree with you. but i also think there are some fans that are predisposed to like the prequels just because it's star wars regardless of how good it is. i mean do you actually think that AotC is superior to LotR? puh-lease. i thought AotC was awful, but it did have a couple of redeeming qualities.

I enjoyed TPM, but though AotC was awful. First hour was boring, second hour was just bad, and then they proceeded to destroy Yoda. Acting stunk, dialogue stunk. All the "emotional" scenes simply fell flat because they were too rushed to have any impact. Visuals were for the most part amazing, but the logical gaps were just as amazing. I found it a chore to sit through. I went in expecting to enjoy it, thinking it would be lots of fun but not a "great" film. And I couldn't wait for the end battle. And I justified my wasted two hours by thinking how it would all be worth it at the end battle. And it wasn't. I felt like I had just watched a 2.5 hour commercial.

 

Yes, I do think AOTC was a more enjoyable movie than FOTR. FOTR was too slow for my taste.

If you are insinuating that I liked AOTC just because it's SW then you have misjudged me. TPM was OK, but I thought it was quite poor for a SW movie. The lightsaber fight was pretty good, but a lot of the movie was irritating. Jar-Jar. Need I say anymore? Still, it wasn't as bad as many claim it is.

AOTC however, eclipses all SW movies, IMO.

AOTC ties as my fave film with the other SW films, Moulin Rouge and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I LOVED IT!

One of the best but I wouldn't say it was one of the greatest of all time.

 

Eh, I enjoyed it because it was Star Wars, and in that regard it more than lived up to my expectations. But it wasn't a great movie. Just fun. Like the poll says-- popcorn.

It's my favorite movie of all time.

 

It fell into the below average films for me however it would of been really bad if not for some great sceens that redaimed it from awful, namely Yoda's fight, Hyden wonderfull portail of Anakin as almost psycotic.

 

I pre-ordered the widescreen DVD. And ended up buying $150 in episode II posters.

The new digitally upgraded Yoda and the noble Padme made the whole movie great!

 

I said one of the best ever. I really enjoyed that flick...but I think TESB is still my favorite.
