Migration sounds like a good idea.

    Retire to Adelaide....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    Just to inform:

The structure for Skyforce (Melbourne & Sydney) is that the committee, headed by ONE manager, organises the event, runs the day, and send the bill to the Star Walking Exec.

The manager reports back to the Exec on how the day goes, everyone smiles and says well done, and then they start on the next event.

Skyforce is planned 12 months in advance, taking into account venue hire, raffle costs, and food.

Door prices are determined by these costs spread over the forecast numbers through the door.

Events for the day can include:
    Fan Films
    Empire Building
    Trivia Comps
    Auction
    Games Comps
    Etc

Basicly everything that happens at a con...minus the guests.

It's a formula that has worked so far in two major cities, maybe we could give it a try in Adelaide and see how it goes. :)

BTW....not trying to force Star Walking on anyone....just wanting to give as many fans as possible the chance to get together with as many fans as possible. :)

it would be good to have a starwalking thing happening here.....

unfortunately, I would not have anything to do with a committee ever again after past experience, but I will be a supporter of sorts of anything anyone puts into action.

I think E-I would make a great leader, as he has done in the past.

    my two cents worth.
    bag me if you like.

    :D

Sounds like our monthly Parsec meetings. But on a larger scale.
We did that once a month. A lot of hard work, but met a lot of great people,& most of em are still here.

If Starwalking accepts our request for an SA chapter, i'm up for anything.

    Got the itch again. :)

I wouldn't reccomnd monthly for two reasons.

    1. It's a lot of work (which you already know).

    2. It can get stale real quick, people get bored and move on. Keep 'em wanting more I say. :)

    Mesa back :D

It sounds like you all had a great weekend. I'm glad it all went well. Next time for me I guess.

    Adelaide SW fan stuff....ahhh, yess.

Monthy. Nah, too much work, too much staleness, too much work.

    4x or 3x yearly, definitely.

SAFF has had more 'social' gettogethers than PARSEC ever did. Much as I fondly remember PARSEC, the plan of drinking and partying never happened, so I'm still sore over that ;). But there were some fun social gatherings....

...however...SAFFwise: I've had early morning newspaper photoshoots, afternoon coffee meetings, evening shootemups, a nighttime pissup (cheers Guri and Alf :D) and a fun day a my place with the SAFF crew. Plus the Foxiest premiere ever ;)

If anything 'big' is ever going to happen in Adelaide, it'll happen with this crew.

When I spoke to Sean Williams on the 18th, he is always keen for Star Wars stuff in Adelaide. Pity he won't be here for too much longer :(

We must do *something* big and fun soon. Dare I say all 6 films? Discussion and ideas have already been blended at my end with a few others.
