CT Force telekinesis

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

    Just for the record I'll state again: I agree that force choke is telekinesis. I never stated otherwise. I was just saying that the force was never used to actually move objects toward or away from the user in A New Hope, which I think it surprising considering it is the most widely known use of it in popular culture. I guess we just don't have very many people here who got to see ESB as an older kid or adult, having only seen ANH beforehand.


    Thank you Arawn_Fenn. At least that clears up that the idea existed before ESB.

    Ah, you may have just pointed out the first use of force telekinesis.

    When Obi-Wan goes to shut down the tractor beam, he creates a noise to distract the Storm Troopers. It's not clear exactly what he did, but he flicks his wrist/fingers and a noise in the distance distracts the troopers. I've always assumed that he flicked some small object with the force to create the noise.

    Since the only other option is that he created a noise with the force (force noise?) it makes sense that he force threw a small object.

    That may be the first use of force telekinesis...
