    Approaching Garqi's surface

They disembarked from the transport. Reya was on Inyan's shoulder, ready to fly the moment she had room to do so; and, Inyan was assessing the chaotic scene before them, lightsaber in-hand. The huntress certainly had not expected such a vast number of enemies. It seemed that the so-called Yuuzhan Vong were everywhere. The aliens were ugly and when Inyan stretched out to the Force, she found a hollow emptiness about them. It was almost as if the Yuuzhan Vong simply did not exist through that medium and perception.

Inyan pushed that feeling aside and focused within the Force. She was ready to defeat all that she came across. Reya could took off from the huntress' shoulder and flew into the sky with a screech while Inyan ignited her yellow and orange bladed lightsaber yelling a war cry of her own.

Dozens of slave troops were running across Garqi's surface. They burned buildings and other structures and murdered what opposition they were able to. The Chazrach, as they were called, were stocky, reptilian humanoids, trained to be fiercely loyal to their Yuuzhan Vong masters. As was common in attacks launched by the extragalactic invaders, the Chazrach were chosen to swarm the enemy's defence systems in the first wave of what was the ground assault. The New Republic had come to refer to the creatures as reptoids. And, now, Inyan stared at six of them rushing toward her.

It seemed as though her war cry was interpreted as not only a challenge, but a threat. The six were armed with assorted weapons: two carried amphistaffs, one carried a crude bone pike, and the others were either unarmed or adorned with such bizarre weapons and accessories that Inyan would find it difficult to interpret where any specific threat actually came from.

They charged at her as one, initially. But, they broke into two equally sized groups as they caught sight of Inyan's companion: Atoa. The presence of two females, and not just the one did not deter the slave troops in the least. They ran toward the women, each of the slaves screaming at the height of their lungs, as they waved their weapons dangerously and closed in on their targets.

Three dozen more slave troops were rushing toward the spaceport proper, working to overwhelm the defences that had been erected by Satryna Nova and the members of Imperial Intelligence. Some of the Chazrach were cut down by stormtrooper's, which raked blaster fire into the slave troop ranks, but many more of the hideous creatures filled the gaps left by their fallen comrades.

Reya could see all that and more from her vantage point within the sky. The keen-eyed bird caught sight of several Quenak, too. These were large, twelve legged creatures that were used as mounts for the slave troops. In the midst of their ranks were a handful of Yuuzhan Vong warriors, armed with assorted bio-engineered weapons.

What little cover was available to Atoa seemed to have been targeted by not only the first cluster of troops, but some of the Quenak and even a pair of the vicious male warriors that walked alongside their ranks.

Alya and Master Vajra were not far from them. The pair had been fortunate enough not to have attracted attention. A stirring from the Force, however, was more than enough warning that they were not safe. Two blasts of plasma fire rained down upon them in an explosive eruption, followed quickly by two more, and then another identical burst.

One of the coralskippers responsible for the fire flew right past Reya. The vessel flew close enough that its dovin basals attempted to swallow the bird with their gravitic power.

A lot happened within the span of a few minutes. Victor had time enough to ensure his lightsaber worked as it was supposed to, and time to grow comfortable with the hilt's familiar grip against his palm as he spun and swung the blade. But, there was not enough time for much else.

Vic and Gareth exited the shuttle that took them down to the planet's surface. Upon looking out, Vic saw a horrendous site: there were so many dead bodies around, not only those of the Yuuzhan Vong, but those of the Allied troops and even Jedi; countless numbers of Yuuzhan Vong charging the lines, all with the thought of death on their minds, death to the Republic and all those who oppose them. This would be no easy task for the Republic to prevail.

"We must hold the defences," Gareth said, breaking Vic out of his little trance he had going on. Vic nodded immediately, letting the Force flow through him as he had done countless times in training. Igniting his lightsaber, Vic followed Gareth in his wake.

Two Chazrach came charging, one in further infront of the other. One was headed towards Gareth, which he easily disarmed, and the other for Vic. As he had heard, these beings were void of the Force, as he felt an emptiness in the Force where a being should be. He pushed that aside as that would distract him. With his newly constructed lightsaber, Vic lunged slightly to the side, and sliced downwards upon the beings arm. He did not want to deny the being of life, but he felt he had no choice. His next strike went towards the beings head, hoping to cut it off. He hoped Gareth would not disapprove of this, but Vic thought it was the best approach: the Chazrach could easily gather the strength to kill another Republic Soldier, or possibly even a Jedi. The sacrafice was too risky.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone!

    Battle of Garqi

    Master Bastilus, Allundra & Alex

As he stood with his padawans inside the New Republic transport, Master Bastilus remained mostly quiet and serene for the most part during the troop landings upon Garqi's Killing fields. The continuos down pour of 'green rain' was certainly of great concern to the Jedi Administrator, and so, he decided that most of the fighting should take place under sheltered combat zones...the few that remained.

As they descended, Bastilus hand touched the one object he had been charged to protect so long ago.

    StormBringer's Holocron.

The feel of it galvanized him and anchored him, it gave him hope. The Jedi Academy's head administrator closed his eyes momentarily and began to strengthen that which he had been forging all along. A jedi Mindmeld with all the other Jedi Knights and Masters. The whole was stronger than its individual components, and so it was, that the jedi would go into battle, linked. One mind, one purpose, one accord. Masters Colti, Vajra, Ozm as well as Jedi Knight Gareth would be part of this mental union, once established it would be for the Masters to guide their padawans in battle.

Bastilus also stretched out his Force senses to locate and include Satryna Nova and Xardoz into the mindmeld. The Head Administrator vowed not to lose another jedi life during this mission. Once that too was accomplished, he wondered as to whereabouts of their other allies, and so he scanned for their location as well.

Meanwhile, Allundra moved closer to Alex as she looked at the wholesale devastation of Garqi. She put an arm around his waist and leaned her head on his shoulder, but said nothing. She was with family. They would make it, they would survive. Together.

"Move out the moment we land and head for cover. Do not remain out in the open. I repeat, do not remain out in the open!"

Too soon did the transport land and all semblance of peace vanished with it.

    "Run for cover" someone shouted.

the lethal Green plasma rain fell everywhere, and Allundra had to use all of her focus, all of her skill to run, leap and dodge, until she finally found shelter from it. Her heart was beating faster thatn she would've liked to as she breathed out in relief. As she turned, she saw more jedi making it to safety, but some of the NR soldiers were not as fortunate. Already there was death.

Allundra felt a profound relief when Master Bastilus and Alex joined her. Like them, her lightsaber was already out and ignited.

"We must converge with Satryna's Forces, she's but half a klick due east from our current position. May the Force be with us all."

Allundra noticed that Master Bastilus was looking out is the distance as he spoke. From his expression, she knew that he was not only speaking to them. She had a very strong feeling that he was communicating with the other jedi through the Force as well. The thought of such connectivity brought her a modicum of comfort and assurance. They were in this together, in this hellish combat zone, connected by the Force.

She sighed in relief at the unspoken implication. They would survive.

"Heads up," came Master Bastilus voice, warning them to be alert.

A wave of reptoids were quickly rushing in to meet them in mortal combat.

The time to engage the enemy was now. Allundra fell into a low stance and waited for them to come. The Force around them surged powerfully, and she felt that Master Bastilus and Alex were about to launch themselves into a never before seen, Jedi offensive.

    Master Vajra & Alya

Not to far from them, Master Vajra and Alya already encountered the enemy. The Cerean's apprentice had adopted a more suitable form for combat.

    Above the planetary surface, Korriban

Swirling like an oceanic whirlpool threatening to swallow whole anything that came too near, the mighty power that was the Force flowed within and around the Anzat swordsman. He walked through the battlefield unflinchingly and held his gaze firmly upon the Great Temple that awaited him in the distance. He could feel Nizzal somewhere behind him; he could sense his twi'lek companion as she worked to gather the Force into energies available for her own direction.

Swarms of Chazrach - Yuuzhan Vong slave troops - converged all around them both, but Vransha pressed forward without breaking his stride. Two of the slaves leapt at him, one swinging a long dull blade at Vransha's head, and the other coming in at Vransha's back with an identical weapon set to a stabbing motion.

Vransha simply held his blades out to his sides, but not quite at horizontal. One blade was tipped upward and the other down, effectively creating an off-horizontal line that came from his body, out from his arms, and extended through the blades of his lightsabers. He spun twice, calling the Force to grant him haste, even as he continued forward. His first spin caused one of his blades to cleave the head of the slave in front of him, cutting through the creature's nose, right back through its head; and, the second blade cut across the knees of the slave behind him. Vransha's second spin cut the legs out from the not-quite decapitated Chazrach even as it began to fall, and saw to the precision separation of the other creature's head from its shoulders. The two fell almost simultaneously.

No more intelligent than their former comrades, but certainly more cautious, were the six slave troops that came swiftly to see about slaying the enemy their fallen comrades could not. Vransha met them all, embodying the concept of a spinning whirlpool, as he maintained his haste. He moved forward, constantly spinning; his blades were in motion and held at varying angles to better meet the enemies that threatened him. Limbs, heads, and crude weapons were flung in varying directions as the Anzat swordsman sliced through their handlers.

He could have walked from one end of the battlefield to the other without pausing or changing his pace. Within the back of his mind, he was vaguely aware that he could have run across the land toward the Temple, spinning like a whirlwind himself, cutting and slashing those that opposed his progress, but he did not enforce the need for such an approach. Were he alone, perhaps that would have been different.

Nizzal shared an intimate and unshakeable bond with Vransha. Their minds worked in unison and they shared what feelings they were aware of, just as they did those that did not surface to the conscious mind. It was through that bond that Vransha gained his first indication as to exactly how Nizzal planned to enter the battle.

She drew upon the air once more and called a literal whirlwind into being. As she had done once before, Nizzal set the whirlwind sideways, so that it formed a horizontal vortex, which she promtly set forth to mow across the landscape. Chazrach troops were blades of grass and they were cut down just as effectively. The vortex broke into separate pieces and moved around Vransha Killar before it resumed mowing the slaves beyond him, almost as far as the Temple itself. Then it went syward and shifted into a vertical shape.

Vransha might have smiled and offered a nod of both gratitude and admiration toward Nizzal under different circumstances. His mind was set on reaching the Temple, however, and he did not pause, not even to acknowledge Nizzal's aid. At least, not obviously. He sent her a brief caress through the bond they shared within the Force instead.

It was fortunate that Nizzal had shifted her tactic. Hundreds of Khass fighters, almost all of which were armed with red-bladed lightsabers, were engaged in the defence of the Temple's

Sri Parna did all he could to ease Aprec's anxieties. In Sri Parna's opinion, the Jedi Initiate had no real reason to feel so conflicted, despite the fact that he inevitably did. He was injured and could not actively participate in the Garqi mission, however, his other skills clearly revealed that he was more suitable to aid in the war effort from Dagobah, or even on the command bridge of a ship.

Sri Parna had done his best to convey to Aprec that his turn to help would come and that he should not hold on to any negative feelings. Of course, he understood that such a deed was easier said than done, especially for a Jedi initiate.

"Come, you must be hungry. Let's get you something in the Common Room."

Sri Parna moved slightly ahead of the initiate and waved for him to follow. Perhaps a good meal would keep the youngster from focusing on the negative.

    Jedi Academy, Green House

"Like I said before, neither of you two is goig to Garqi, you're simply not ready for that type of engagement. What you will do however, is spend most of your time in crash courses. You will train, train, train. Banden will be your flight instructor, and I will cover everything else. Now pay attention and be careful not to pick the legumes that aren't ready."

DawnStar picked up her basket of legumes and took it to the growing pile behind her. She had brought both Unru and Deanna to the green house to occupy their minds with something other than the war, especially now that the jedi were directly involved. The New Republic transports had left Dagobah and jumped to Garqi several hours ago, so it was likely that their fellow jedi were soon to be or already engaged with the enemy.

The Kiffar female gave her pouting padawans a kind smile and began to fill a new basket with the bounty of the Green House.

    Lord Spectre

    Planetary Surface, Garqi

Lord Spectre was the last to exit the starcraft, though not because of lack of desire to fight, or of fear. He waited because he knew that his apprentice, Lord Husk, and the rest of them could handle the initial wave by themselves. The Souless One meditated, gathering strength in his mind and body to prepare for the conflict ahead.

"We move east!" said Mistress Fray's voice. That, Spectre knew, was his cue.

The Dark One stood, and walked quickly out of the spacecraft, following the others as they went on ahead. He completely ignored a Yuuzhan Vong warrior charging at him, amphistaff raised, untill it seemed as if it was too late. Like lightning, Spectre's hands shot out, delivering concussive blows to either temble, and then came a fierce kick to the nose, a killing blow that felled the Vong. Just as quickly, Spectre became serene again, and followed his companions, lighting his crimson lightsaber as he did so.

It was a good day for killing.

    IC: Ty (Garqi, Planet surface)

When Ty got back to the ship, and it only took a few seconds, the first wave of troops were almost there. Than Jarrath went to meet the on coming troops, his saber was a dazzling display of bueaty and death all in one, but he was not alone. Darth Husk and Mistress Fray was past him and attacking the front line. Than they started to come at him, he just hoped he was ready, but if he wasn't...he was dead. Ty was suddenly behind the masters, not realizing that he too had followed, with lighted saber and a very determined face. He seen the two that broke off from the main group and was headed his way. In the last second the force let him know that something was headed his way. He ducked quickly as a saber took out one of the troopers that was coming his way. The one next to it didn't even notice that he was now alone. Though he was still going to be a handfull. The alien's menacing club, looked like it could take off his shirt and let his insides leak out, and still not stop.

Ty could remember something that his master Lord Spectre had said when he first came to the cave. He could remember it just like it was just yesterday. ""It's useage is a key skill to know when defending yourself in times of war.", said Lord Spectre. Ty let himself go, his saber was in his hands and was getting finially fitting into his hand and it felt good. Than the lone deformed and very ugly looking trooper came at him. The club of the deformed thing was amazingly fast, coming at him like a bullet at his mid-section. Ty's saber came up to block while his foot shot out and connected on the "ugly's", knee cap and he appllied pressure on it so he couldn't move out from Tys next attack. Though the ugly had other ideas. Ty didn't know that the ugly didn't care about himself, just the kill. The club came back around again towards Tys head. He had only on choice, Ty launched himself up, using the force to help him get away from the deadly points on the club. As Ty was coming down, he used the force to push the troopper down to his knees. Than Ty turned his saber point down to spear his first kill. The poor victim shook some and then fell to the ground in two, when Ty pulled out the saber, in the worst way possible. Than he heard Mistress Fray, say "We must move east!"

Ty couldn't understand why move east when the main body was straight ahead, by his account. Though he could not stay on that thought for to long, for more was coming and they had all had death in their eyes, but one caught his eye. The figure, even though it was majorly deformed by all the implants. It was the body of a female that he knew, even after all of this time. It was his old girlfriend that he dated a few times when he was out on his own. Ty was grossed out, almost to the point of being sick. It was a female that he actually "loved" at the time. Ty couldn't leave her that way, even if he dumpped her for someone else. Only problem was that she was in a group of five. He had no chance on taking on more than two the most. Even that was almost to much. So, he had to move away from the group and hope that he was the one who did the job. Ty did a quick look around to see where everyone was at. Ty was completely surprised to see his group further away than he figured. He had to rejoin the group or be cut off completely. So with that in mind, he gathered the force to Hasted back to the group.

Posted on behalf of Ktala, who is having some modem issues:

    ZaZhen
    Korriban

Wolf approached ZaZhen slowly, simply watching her at first, before he spoke. "I will offer my service to you where I may be of value," he said. ZaZhen turned, and looked at him for a moment, a slight smile on her face. He was uncomfortable here. That was easy enought to see. But where could she use him? His unfamiliarty with technology was not good. Her droids made him nervous. As she thought about it, she saw something else join them in the battle. Her eyes grew wide, as she muttered in Falleen..."What the frell are THOSE?" Giant...snakes? ZaZhen shuddered.

At first there was only one, then two, and soon five. Within minutes dozens of them filled the emptiness of space, slithering like gigantic beasts of myth. The giant snakes entered the battle. ZaZhen blinked. It was getting stranger by the second. She wondered what other creatures lay on the planet surface...and was suddenly glad of her decision to stay above. The snakes worked in perfect unison as they singled out their targets. Some tore huge chunks of yorik coral directly from the vessels that housed that rocky armour, and others spat acidic venom so concentrated it burned through the hull of the alien craft.

She suddenly turned to Wolf. "I could use another set of eyes and hands on the cannons. Here, I'll show you." ZaZhen got up, and walked a few steps down, to show him a alternate firing console. He would not see any droids, hopefully, it might help. She gestured towards the seat. "Just look through this screen here, and if anything thats an enemy gets too close...." She pointed to the trigger. "Just press that." she said. She tapped the roof. "The ship's communications will be open, so I can hear you, and you can hear me, in case we need to talk." With a gentle smile and a nod, she walked her way back towards the cockpit.

Meanwhile, Mouse, Zeek CHIP and MAX were busy making sure that the spiders were being disperesed as planned. Once back in the cockpit, she kept her eyes on what was going on around them, as her ship moved, staying away from the new things that had come to join them fight. She wondered how Xanahrk was doing.

    Nizzal
    Above the planetary surface, Korriban

Vransha walked through the battlefield unflinchingly and held his gaze firmly upon the Great Temple that awaited him in the distance. Nizzal followed not too far behind. Her own saber, she held, but unlit for the moment. Nizzal shared a bond with Vransha. Their minds worked in unison and they shared what feelings they were aware of, just as they did those that did not surface to the conscious mind.

She drew upon the air once more and called a literal whirlwind into being. The vortex broke into separate pieces and moved around Vransha Killar before it resumed mowing the slaves beyond him, almost as far as the Temple itself. Then it went syward and shifted into a vertical shape. A brief caress through the bond they shared let her know that her effort was appreciated. She began to think of antoher way to deal with these things. There were far too many people she didnt wish to attack, in close proxcimity. But the winds would keep the ships busy.

What happened next, was most unexpected. Several other beings, the Khass cut through and then poured out from the midst and ranks of slave troops and other alien creatures. The black-skinned warriors, moved to join both Nizzal and Vransha. They offered aid and protection and something more. Nizzal could feel them, just as Vransha could, reaching into her mind. Their reach was not invasive as much as it was supportive.

Nizzal's sphere of awearness grew almost tenfold and then tripled in an instant, bef

    Renkar Botz
    Garqi Surface

The Red-Nikto?s blue bladed of energy sliced through the flesh of a Vong slave. In a swift movement, without looking at the fallen flesh, Renkar swung in a swift upward slash, digging into the ground first and then straight up the second opponet.

?Renkar, we must move to support Vic and Gareth and then move eastward to join Jedi Knight Satryna Nova and their forces,? his Master yelled over his shoulder.

Renkar brought his saber down vertically, halving a packet of flesh and shifted the smooth blade of power within his grasp.

?Yes, Master,? was his only reply.

Burning remains of a speeder crashed into a mass of reptoids and Vong warrior, effectively taking a few down. The objects having floated on their own and obviously by the Force.

?Come my Padawan, strength in numbers,? the Master yelled over the frenzy, dispatching more slaves.

Flipping his rist caused the lightsaber?s dangerous blade to swing in a arc from back to his front and a slash down to his right to catch some flying debris. From his time on Tatooine in training, he had been taught the art of saber fighting. Taking predominance toward the designated Form III, he had used it in his philoshy of defence when necessary.

Up to now, he and his master had been dancing in a burning ballet of death and pain. Thus far, their constant movements and the Master?s precongition had gained them the upper hand, but would it prove possible until the end. Would it prove enough against the enemies that were supposedly superior warriors?

    Garqi's surface

A Chazrach slave charged at Victor, and Gareth turned to be ready to aid the initiate if need be. With his newly constructed lightsaber, Vic lunged slightly to the side, and sliced downwards upon the being's arm. He did not want to deny the being life, but he felt he had no choice. His next strike went towards the being's head, cutting it clean off.

Gareth observed it all with an expression of solemn sadness and understanding. It was difficult for him to accept the role of a soldier. The Jedi Knight knew that the war against the Yuuzhan Vong was very much like the Clone Wars in that the Jedi were involved in the galaxy-wide conflict. Gareth sincerely hoped that history would not repeat itself, he hoped that the Jedi would not fall or fail in their efforts.

Ripples of guidance from the Force indicated to Gareth the severe danger of remaining out in the open. Plasma fire fell from the sky like a shower of green rain and dozens of unfortunate soldiers had already perished in its burning assault. "Head for cover," he called to Victor, waving to indicate the spaceport proper.

As he ran toward the spaceport, his lightsaber in hand, Gareth felt a calming presence touch his mind. It was the presence of Master Bastilus Onasi, and with it came the vague sensation that Gareth was connected to the head administrator, as well as Masters Colti and Ozm, and a few others. They were all welcomed into Bastilus' mind-meld and Gareth felt renewed strength rising within him.

He opened himself to share his bond with Victor, too, thus extending the meld further. Dozens of reptoids seemed to be charging toward the spaceport and in the midst of their formation were the flashing blades that were recognisable as lightsabers. Bastilus, Alex, and Allundra were engaged with the enemy.

A quick glance toward Victor was assurance enough that the initiate came to the same conclusion. The reptoids seemed to be charging for the pockets of sheltered spaceport in an effort to deny the allied forces sanctuary. Gareth joined Victor and plunged into the rear of the reptoid cluster, hacking his way through to aid the other Jedi.

Gareth cut down at least three Chazrach troops before he caught a positive visual on Master Bastilus. He had no doubt that the Jedi Master knew of his presence, so Gareth continued toward him. His mind was open to Victor and he felt the initiate's efforts as much as he did his own. They would work as one to clear the reptoids. And then, perhaps they would be able to rendezvous with Satryna Nova.

Master Ozm seemed to be of similar mind. "Renkar, we must move to support Vic and Gareth and then move eastward to join Jedi Knight Satryna Nova and their forces," he called out over the noise that was Garqi's battleground.

With a gesture, Master Ozm sent the burning remains of a fallen speeder crashing right into a conglomeration of enemy forces. He saw Gareth and Victor across the new clearing making their way towards Bastilus and the Jedi Master's companions. "Come my padawan, strength in numbers," Ozm said.

A number of reptoids and Yuuzhan Vong warriors worked to flank them, even as more slaves fell before the unforgiving arcs of Ozm's lightsaber. The Iktotchi Jedi Master used the same burning wreckage to help clear a wider path towards Gareth and Vic. The battle was just getting started, and converging with Satryna's forces was not going to be as easy as it sounded.

Meanwhile, a scattered line of more than a hundred stormtroopers stood against the armies of the Yuuzhan Vong. The Imperial soldiers worked as only regimented training would allow. Some of them took to cover and fired as snipers, picking off reptoids one by one so as to reduce the enemy's numbers; and, other stormtroopers stood beside and among Satryna and Xardoz and Luto and Kasmus offering what aid they could, as they covered their respective charges and sought to bring down the enemy

OOC: I am sorry that I haven't been able to check what exactly is going on right now. With a battle going on here, I guess it's bad timing for me actually living at my new home. (this is my third night there). We haven't moved the computer there yet, nor do we have cable, phone, or internet there yet. Until I am able to seriously post again, Inyan is obediently beside Atoa. Ktala, if you feel the need, go ahead and play Inyan for a bit, at least indicating that she's with Atoa. If there is an action that Inyan would naturally do that is needed to help move things along, please have her do that.

I really will return here ASAP, and Jediloren stated that we'll try to get internet over there tomorrow.

Until then, my friends, farewell. It tis but a short while.

    ~Garqi's surface~

"Head for cover," Vic heard Gareth yell as plasma fell from the sky like a thunderstorm. He felt life around him die away as many unfortunate beings got caught in the open, which was reason enough to convice Vic not to hesitate, and find cover quickly. He followed right behind Gareth, whom was heading towards the spaceport.

Suddenly, as the duo continued to run, he felt a burst of energy hit him, as if something or someone lending him extra strength. Then, he realized it was the power of the Force at work, and Gareth, along with the other masters ahead, had something to do with it. The sensation felt amazing: he felt as though he could do anything. The way the Force worked was truly astonishing. However, he did not have time to revel in that sensation. He had just noticed flashing blades, easily recognizable as lightsabers, in the midst of dozens of the reptoids. Gareth gave Victor a nod, and the initiate gave a nod of understanding in return.

The duo entered the battle at the rear of the enemies formation, hacking and slicing their way through. Vic used that extra boost to quicken his attacks, to become more aware. Vic, with the aid of Gareth, had sliced down numerous Chazrach. Hopefully, they could make it through before the bombardment from above reached them.

    Vale

    Korriban

Vale ran as fast as she could, using the Force to propel her even faster. There were thousands...maybe even millons of these ugly guys, Vale thought to herself.. Khass and more of the scarred aliens battled all around her, but she kept running. That is, until she reached the exit of the Great Temple. Waves of Vong slave troops seemed to be marching toward it, toward Vale. She was all that stood between them and the Temple's chambers.

She looked back. Back there, was fighting, and in front, was death.. She nearly cried. Perhaps she could go back and hide. But with what she saw in front of her, that would not last too long. Maybe there was a hidden or side area to exit. It didnt HAVE to be a doorway. Ruhtra could find her, if he was okay. She couldnt tell, the Force was feeling so strange right now. As she stood there, trying to decided what to do next, a tall man dressed in black stepped out from the shadows. Vale had not even seen the man until he moved toward her.

She jumped back, almost issuing a scream. Instead she bit her lip, and gripped her sabers tightly. She sensed nothing from him, not evil, nor good, but the Force whispered to her. He wasnt one of those tattooed freeks, so that was some relief. There were so many people she had never seen before, she just couldnt be sure. "Hello young lady," the stranger greeted. "My name is Obdurate." She stared at him, only offering a half hearted "Hello..." in response. His greeting just seemed so out of place, considering what was going on around them. She stood, still unsure. Should she stay, or run? Ruhtra told her to run...but she doubted he knew just how bad it was. She stood, gripping her sabers tightly. She would wait, for this second. But if things did not get better soon, she was going to run. Someplace. Anyplace.

OOC: Everyone, my apologies for not posting sooner. A one day trip to see my relatives nearby turned out to be a six day trip to Boston to see my grandparents who have no computer.

Once again, my apologies and Merry Christmas to all of you. Also, I received The Swarm War for Christmas and Luke?s decisions for the future of the Jedi Order really did surprise me.

    Alexander d? Cannith
The Battle of Garqi: Streets, Garqi

War. Alexander d? Cannith had never fought in an external war before, having fought an internal war with the demons of his past after Ty?s disappearance. Dozens of different emotions raced through his body: fear, excitement, and apprehension. He could even feel some rage at the fact that the Vong had killed thousands of innocent people.

Suddenly, he felt an arm wrap around his waist and Allundra?s head fell onto his shoulder, his best friend staring out at the unfolding devastation. He returned the gesture by wrapping his own arm around her shoulders, also gazing out at the planet of Garqi.

I will not die. I have too many things to live out and this is not the time. We?ll pull through this together.

"Move out the moment we land and head for cover. Do not remain out in the open. I repeat, do not remain out in the open!" He heard a Republic soldier scream, his blaster rifle raised in the air.

Within seconds, peace had disappeared from the mind of Alexander d? Cannith as the transport opened to reveal the decimated landscape of Garqi.

"Run for cover" He heard another Republic soldier scream, soon fading into a scream of terror as an amphistaff burst bloodily from his back. The Jedi Padawan winced, shaking his head as he almost imagined the same fate happening to him.

In the Force, Alex felt a life wink from existence, a coldness that seemed to live in the Force for only a few moments.

Death. Finally, I know what it is.

He followed Allundra and Master Bastilus, using every evasive action he had ever learnt to block the neverending rain of green plasma. Flips, jumps, sidesteps, and rolls brought him to the same shelter as his two comrades.

In the brief moment of rest, Alex opened himself to the Living Force, bringing his mind into the Jedi battle-meld Master Bastilus had established. It was amazing for words were not spoken in the meld, but pictures and colors brought meaning to all things wanting to be said.

It?s almost like a very complex and elaborate painting.

"We must converge with Satryna's Forces, she's but half a klick due east from our current position. May the Force be with us all." Alex only nodded as Master Bastilus spoke quickly, the Jedi Master gripping his yellow-bladed lightsaber tightly. "Heads up!"

A wave of reptilian-like creatures charged at the three Jedi, their weapons raised for battle and their faces full of both fear and rage. He watched Allundra bend into a low stance and Master Bastilus only stood, his lightsaber at his side in the at-rest position.

The first reptoid charged Alex, its head lowered for a powerful headbutt. The young Padawan actually smiled, sidestepping back a step while he timed his stab perfectly with the lightsaber killing the reptoid easily.

Two more came upon and Alex rotated his lightsaber in one hand, weaving a defensive web of light around his body. Each reptoid fell at his feet in four pieces as Alex continued the web of light, fully within the current of the Force

He would survive. And he would make sure of it his family survived as well.

    ***************************************************

    Kieran Riot

    Jedi Academy, Dagobah

Itchy. That was how his fingers felt. Itchy for a blaster grip. And the trigger, of coruse. Don't forget the trigger. Don't forget the part where your knuckles go white and the trigger goes back and ZOOM- faster than kriffin lightning, you've got smoked Jedi, waiting for you on a platter. And Kieran Riot had his blaster pistol tucked away in his belt. No one'd suspect anything. So that was one weapon. Not really enough. Even back on Garqi, that scarred monster freaky guy (the same guy whose weird pals were now travelling in the guise of smugglers alongside Kieran) couldn't take Jedi, and he'd been packing some kickass snakestaff things. So to kill a Jedi, you needed proper damage potential stuff. And Kieran had killed a Jedi before, in that hospital. And so he'd gone back to his ship to pick up the two devices that would help him. In two little pouches, one hanging from his belt, and the other bulging in his inside jacket pocket, were secreted two thermal detonators. The best damn things in the universe, those shiny silver spheres. Set 'em off and no one hangs around long afterwards, Force or no Force, lightsword or no lightsword.

It didn't matter one nuna to Kieran that he'd probably die using them. Way he figured, if he actually made it through this nightmare alive, he was gonna take enough glitterstim to kill himself anyway. What could he live for now? His partner was dead, Jedi and Imperials wanted his behind, and probably these friendly scarheads would too eventually, so what the frell. Might as well go out with a BANG.

"And a BOOM, yeah, that'll kriffing teach 'em," he muttered under his breath, ignoring the glances his fellow 'Peace Brigaders' gave him. One of them told him to keep his mouth shut. Kieran merely nodded. One of the Vong-psychos headed off to the kitchens, and another said to ignore the guy. Seemed he was being moody. Just as long as he could rip apart some force freaks when the dung started to fly, the scarhead could be a manic depressive for all Kieran cared.

He surveyed his his surroundings with his one eye. These Jedi really were freaks. Gifted, they said. All that force mumbo-jumbo, and they actually pack up and go to live in caves where the stench was worse than a Hutt's toilet. Yeah, there were two of them, coming up to what was apparently the Common Room, and Kieran felt an almost irrepressible urge to start the killing right then, right away. But he didn't.

He carried a small, fairly light wooden crate in his arms, full of emergency rations, that kind of thing, and he called over to one of the Jedi who was walking, some student in tow. the being's name was Sri Parna, and he was a Master, but Kieran didn't know or care. His first thought was simple, and bloody: when the poodoo hits the turbine, cone-head, I swear it'll be you who feels the pain first.

"Hey, Cerean," called out Kieran, and held up his box, trying to keep his mind clear. They said the freaks could read your mind- luckily his was pretty screwed up anyway thanks to that old devil called spice. "Where d'you want this stuff?"

    Aperc Blu----Dagobah----Jedi Academy Common room

"Come, you must be hungry. Let's get you something in the Common Room."

Sri Parna moved slightly ahead of the initiate and waved for him to follow. Perhaps a good meal would keep the youngster from focusing on the negative.

Aperc soon began to follow, he knew he had to focus more, the dreams he had were disturbing, which was what occupied his mind most of the time. Focus. Again Aperc muttered in his head, he knew he had not recieved a large amount of training as of yet, but he felt with what he had lerned over the last few days he could begin the path he knew he needed to take, one of putting his past behind him, not worrying about the future every second and focusing on what he was doing right now!

Quickly catching up the few steps, Aperc came almost along side Sri Parna and walk with him. Aperc wnated to begin thinking about his fellow Jedi, wondering what they were doing how the initial phases of the landing were going. Aperc knew all too well the horrors of war and what was involved in an invasion landing. But again, he could not dwell... there would be times to think about that and do so in a constructive manner, focus on the now! Aperc thought himself to be sounding like a broken record. Aperc almost needed something to help him regain focus, a test perhaps or maybe Aperc just needed to settle down and listen to Master Sri Parna.

Hey, Cerean, Where d'you want this stuff?" The words snapped Aperc back to reality, he knew he was not being spoken to but, Aperc turned to see an individual carrying a crate fo sorts. A moment went by as the silence before a repsonse would be offered from Sri Parna, and Aperc took the time to focus feeling out with the lessons Master Bastilus and Master Sri Parna had imparted on him so far. Aperc wondered who this individual was, perhaps he would be able to put those teaching to good use and find out who this person was? Otherwise Aperc was sure the individual would go on apperently delivering what he held in his arms.

    IC: Lycodon [Wolf] & Serpent

    Korriban

ZaZhen seemed to be considering Lycodon's offer when she suddenly turned to gaze out from the ship's viewport. Lycodon followed her gaze, and his eyes glittered brightly as he saw what it was that had drawn ZaZhen's attention. "They are Basilisk," he said to her, as if those few words would explain everything.

Basilisk were giant serpentile creatures that lived within the Unknown Regions and were believed to be the protectors and guardians of the Tnepres from the darkness of the wider galaxy. Lycodon could not communicate with the creatures directly, at least, not that he was aware of, but he had learned that the Basilisk offered tranport and guidance to the other members of his species, particularly the greater beings such as Serpent and Fierce. Lycodon had never seen them in battle, however.

He could feel their silent waves of communication flowing outward through the Force; he could all but feel their thoughts and feelings as they worked in unison to destroy the vessels of the Yuuzhan Vong.

"I could use another set of eyes and hands on the cannons," ZaZhen suddenly said, calling Wolf back to attention. "Here, I'll show you." ZaZhen stood and walked a few steps toward an alternate firing console. She gestured towards the operator's seat and said, "Just look through this screen here, and if anything that's an enemy gets too close...." She pointed to the trigger. "Just press that."

Wolf nodded his understanding as humans did and watched as ZaZhen tapped the roof. "The ship's communications will be open, so I can hear you, and you can hear me, in case we need to talk." She offered him a gentle smile and a nod of her own, then she walked her way back towards the cockpit.

Lycodon settled into the alternate operator's seat and pressed the firing mechanism ZaZhen had indicated. A blast of bright laser-fire shot out through space and disappeared into the stars. Wolf stared wide-eyed, and then pressed the trigger mechanism again. His eyes narrowed slightly, as he came to grasp the purpose and function of the mechanical weapon.

Before long, he was into a fit of hissing as he began targeting one coralskipper after another, determined to tear the alien ships apart. Their absorbing his laser-fire caused him some frustration, but he continued firing at them with increasing ferocity. ZaZhen heard only his continued hissing, as Wolf gave his all to destroying his enemies.

Meanwhile, Serpent stood gazing toward Xanahrk. The Falleen seemed to have been distracted by the recent arrival of the giant Basilisk. "I must reach the surface," he informed Xanahrk, once more, his tone firm. "We must ensure that Korriban remains protected, that the battle is not without purpose."

Tys fast escape came to a complete halt as two disgusting looking Gamorreans coming at him from the direction that he wanted to go. As he neared the two he went into a roll that would take him close to the middle of the two. When he was several feet from them he jumped up lighting his single saber and using the force to push the one on the right, backwards, so leaving the one on the left alone for a few seconds. But the one on the right had different plans. As Ty was coming down, the first Gamorrean leaped to the right and swang at Ty with his huge club that had spikes, in which tore through his shirt and came back out a little bloody. The pain that went through Ty, was brief but still a bit painful. When he finially came down his feet planted firmly on the ground he launched himself up and over the spiked Gamorrean, like Darth Husk had done to him. As he came down, Ty slashed downward cutting the second Gamorrean in half, splattering blood and guts all over the battle field. The first Gamorrean was already coming back at Ty, but he had no time to finish the job. Ty turned quickly and took off the rest of the way back to his party.

    Inyan Masti - Reya, Garqui

As Inyan raised her lightsaber and charged at the first of the aliens that charged, she felt the connection between herself and Atoa strentghen. Atoa started levitating debris at the six while Inyan attacked with her blade. She lunged at the one armed with the bone pike first, aiming at the weapon, intent on destroying it first. Using her hunter instincts and not so much the Force, Inyan dodged any attack that came at her while pressing her own.

Above the action, Reya screeched again, seeing Inyan fighting. The bird dove down towards the slave fighters, talons ready to do some harm.

"He was no match for the power of the Force," came the familiar voice of Zen-Shiva's leader. The Dark Lord summoned her to him and to the next challenge. "It has always been yours to direct, more than command," Krasus reminded, from the command chair of his ghost ship within the planet's orbit. It was the very reason she prevailed where Kueller could not; Kueller's lust for power was his undoing.

The Soul Reaver shone brightly in her hands and seemed to sing with the power it had just absorbed from the fallen monarch, almost as if it were content from a fully satisfying meal.

Zen-Shiva looked to the sky and smiled. She nodded deferentially at the sound of Kraus' voice as she acknowledged him. To say that his presence had not surprised her would be untrue, however, it was very welcomed. Almost at the same moment, the Omwati Sith Lord watched as Arkain touched down with the Vengeful Sabre just long enough to pick her up. Before boarding the vessel, Zen-Shiva spared Kueller's body one last glance. As expected, she felt nothing for the slain opponent. The former Prince had received his reward for defying the Sith, end of story.

Emotions usually got in the way, that's why she did not trust them. They were too easily exploited and manipulated. Those that fuelled the darkside were the only one's she could count on, but now was not the time to be introspective.

As the Omwati Sith Lord came into the ship's cockpit, Arkain immediately vacated the pilot's seat and bowed to her master. Zen-Shiva gracefully took her rightful place as pilot.

"You did well today." she said to her apprentice. She looked over at the young girl and gave her a small nod, but no smile. She then turned and went about piloting the ship to join Krasus' Victory Fleet.

Arkain's eyes lit up as she tried vainly to contain an inner joy that she had done well and that her master was pleased. She tried not to indulge in that feeling, for her Master had warned her about such 'foolish practices', but inwardly, she was also glad that her master had not turned around to glare at her. That would have killed her fuzzy feeling instantly. After a few lingering moments, fear of her Master's displeasure helped her to finally contain herself. That accomplished, the Sith Apprentice managed to bravely take her seat as co-pilot, and 'without looking', she answered.

    "Thank you, Master."

Arkain tried to help it, but her eyes involuntarily looked towards her master, even though her head remained facing forward. If Zen-Shiva reacted to her words, she must have missed it, but it was just as well. She knew to interpret 'no reaction' as a positive result, because her master was quick to let you know when she was displeased.

All in all, their mission to Almania was a success. Too bad that the idiot Kueller couldn't do as he was told. She hadn't realized that behind that mask, there was a very attractive fellow. Presumably a fellow sith. And although he was vastly more powerful than she could have ever imagine, her Master had done even what she, for a brief moment, doubted was possible.

She had defeated the All-Powerful Kueller.

As the Vengeful Sabre took it's place next to the Sith Flag Ship, Arkain found that she was feeling very honored and very scared to be Zen-Shiva's dark apprentice. Deep inside, she hoped that she would not only survive the experience, but also be truly worthy of her Master.

    Alexia Tyler

Alexia Tyler was not very happy at the moment. The others had left her behind, but they had taken that 'bantha-poodoo' for brains of a newcomer. She didn't like that part one bit. Oh, and telling her that she was incharge of keeping an eye on the Jedi was not very convincing at all. Her Master was simply being overprotective and did not want to admit it.

Of course she understood it all, but that didn't mean that she had to like it. The way she was feeling now, she desperately needed to take out her 'aggressions' on a dueling droid or something, but even that seemed to hold little satisfaction.

Shrouded in her dark robes, Alexia made her way to the Jedi Common Room. It was better than being alone. She tried not to call attention to herself, seeing how she was wearing dark robes, but she found herself not really caring much at this point. The Young Force User found hersef a solitary seat within the Common Room and sat, watching those all around her. Perhaps they would amuse her enough to get her mind off things. Alexia's hands were inside her dark robes and they absently played with the hilt of her lightsaber. Her sharp eyes scrutinised all those about her as her mind worked to analyse them. It wasn't long before she found something that made her eyes go wide.

There was a republic officer going into the kitchens who she could see plainly with the naked eye, however, in the Force, she could sense nothing coming from him.

DawnStar laughed softly and good naturedly at her padawans. Despite all that was happening around them, their good spirits were undaunted.

"Hmmm, I think we have more than enough baskets." DawnStar commented, still smiling. The kiffar female got up and got a rolling cart that was parked nearby.

"Let's put these baskets on this cart. It will make transporting our prizes alot easier. Once we get them all to the kitchen, we can wash them off and store them so they'll be nice and neat for the cooks."

DawnStar gave a wink to both Deanna and Unru, fully expecting to hear more witty remarks from the young twi'lek.

After a few moments of hefting the baskets and filling up the cart with legumes, the three females were ready for their next phase of their 'agricultural' adventure. DawnStar happily hummed a native song of bounty as she lead the way to the Common Room's kitchen.

Sri Parna, Aprec Blu, Kieran Riot

Sri Parna was leading Aprec to the Common Room, and just as they arrived, someone nearby immediately interjected upon them to get his attention.

"Hey, Cerean, Where'd you want this stuff?"

Sri Parna slowly turned around to regard whoever had addressed him in such a manner. He was not surprised to see it was a human, but one he didn't recognise. The man wore plain clothes and carried a crate on his hands. By his posture and attitude, he seemed to be impatient and anxious to complete his assignment.

Sri Parna glanced at Aprec and beckoned for him to follow as he moved closer to the stranger.

"That would depend on what excatly it is that you're carrying inside that crate my friend, only then would I be able to direct you in the right direction."

Sri Parna gave the man an amicable smile and nodded in greeting. "You may also call me Sri Prana, there is no need to be so formal here. This is Aprec Blu."

Sri Parna introduced himself and the initiate as he waited for the man to reveal the crate's content in order to facilitate its storage.

The cerean Jedi Knight didn't think much of it at the moment, but the man did seem a bit stressed. Perhaps he had been on the frontlines and was sent to Dagobah for a short break, but Sri Parna didn't want to assume too much without knowing more.[/colo

Master Bastilus Onasi, Alex d'Canith & Allundra D'jo

Even here, amidst war and killing, Master Bastilus could feel it. The inexorable greatness of the Force, that energy which connected all living things together. Methodically, the Jedi were coming together, fighting as they fought both the battles before them and those inside of themselves. They all held on to hope and to trust, love and friendship and the very real notion that they were a family and they would achieve victory, not for themselves, but for the galaxy. They fought to protect those who could not protect themselves, they risked all that others may live in a better world.

The Head Administrator could follow the battle of his fellow jedi thriugh the mindmeld they shared. His lightsaber felled several opponents as he kept himself in continuos motion, even as he silently urged his two padawans to do the same. To Alex, he sent reasurance that he had indeed conquered his dark past and need not fear what was, and to Allundra he sent serenity, that the overwhelming numbers of the opposition would not shake her calm centre and cause her to despair.

As they moved eastward to join with Satryna Nova's forces, they could now glimpse bright flashes caused by neighboring lightsaber wielders. Needless to say, the sight was encouraging.

Almost as if sensing this, the enemy surged all around them, seeking to cut them off from their fellows, but the Force was truly with the Jedi so far. Master Bastilus used pieces of the ubiquitous wreckage to assault the very beings who had caused such destruction. He dettered them with force assisted vehemence as he directed his padawans to speedily make it through the gauntlet of Vong slaves. As for the Vong themselves, Master Bastilus did his best and tried to keep a thick wall of slaves between them and Vong. The forceless monstrosities would have to kill their own if they wanted to get to the Jedi that badly, however, they jedi had the advantage of greater mobility.

The pieces were now in motion, and the jedi mindmeld aided its warriors against the onset of fatigue...and soon, he could feel it in his bones, the decisive moment of their encounter would be upon them, and the jedi would be there to make sure the galaxy would live to see a better tomorrow.

Master Zubodhi Vajra, Alya Eiru, Master Atoa Colti & Inyan Masti

The Cerean Jedi Master looked as if he were gliding on air as he came in towards Atoa and Inyan. Two metallic panels spun on their axis as he came in for a landing. The two make-shift discs acted as giant spinning saws as they mowed down a multitude of enemies. The abject carnage was a terrible sight to behold, but unfortunately, this was war, and they needed breathing room. Nearby, Alya had changed forms and was now like unto an unstoppable stampeding Bantha, with a lightsaber!
