Mara looked up as her husband, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker walked into the living area of the room the were in. Her husband. The one man in the galaxy that looked past the exterior to the heart of the woman within her. He saw her as a friend, even with a blaster to his temple. He was not afraid of her then. He still was not now. This gentle man had seen her at her worst and still he loved her.

Mara stopped for a moment and stared at him. His blue eyes twinkling with mirth. His face calm, serene. So unlike the face that had greeted her not long after Callista had left. This truly was her husband. Forever. She glanced down at the gold band that encircled her left finger. Luke had slipped this on her a mere two days ago and yet it felt like it had always been there. Maybe in some way it had. From a certain point of view, she thought with a mental grin.

She heard the holoplayer just before she felt the strong arms of her husband wrap around her waist. She smiled. She felt so loved, so safe in Luke?s arms. She spun and rested her arms around his neck.
She felt his arms tighten. Slowly they began to sway, turning a small circle. Obviously to everything around them. Their attention solely on each other.

Yesterday morning, her first morning as Mrs. Luke Skywalker, she had stared at her husband as he looked out the transparitsteel window. Her heart had swelled. To think, for her entire lifetime she would get to wake up every morning to his handsome face.

?Good morning, beautiful,? he had whispered.

Mara?s heart had soared. Sure, others had called her beautiful before. But no one had meant it like Luke had. The others had wanted something she was not willing to give to them. When Luke said it she knew it was because he loved her and it was something she longed to hear from him. Forever.

Mara laid her head on his chest, her right ear over his heart. She heard the beat. Gargon. Gargon. Gargon. In perfect accord with her own. We were one, she thought. We breath as one. We hurt, we cry, we live as one. In total harmony.

Mara leaned back and gazed into the blue orbs shining down at her. She drowned in them everytime she looked. Love poured from them and she soaked it up until she thought she would burst and rain it on whoever stood near her. Her heart swelled.

In the distance, one can see thousand upon thousands of furry little critters making their way to the Jedi Temple.

In the midst of the solemn procession, four of the biggest and strongest ewoks are hoisting a throne of royalty.

Love, something she knew nothing of growing up, swept over her, filled her, held her in its tender embrace. Before she would have fought its gentle tug, its soft hug. Now she lavished in it. Thrived on it. What is it with these SW males? Lucky Mara.
