A lot of fun additional tidbits are sprinkled throughout the new short story, 'The End of History'.

Tarkin also suggests that the Republic has been around for 1000 generations. "For the first time in one thousand generations, our sector governors will not be working soley to enrich Coruscant and the Core Worlds, but to advance the quality of life in the star systems that make up each sector". Page 250.

 

Nice, the book started and solved its own time span-debate.

And a form of sector governor has been part of the Republic since the very beginning? Is this a reference to the origin of the word "Moff" which came from The Essential Atlas?

 

Doesn't the sw.com databanks and wookieepedia hint at Bane, being a part of the original sith order, before it's downfall ?
The old sith as stated by the TPM novel only lasted for a few weeks meaning that Darth Bane's tomb is atleast 6000 + years old
Speculation : Maybe the final battle between the sith and jedi that ended the dark age was the battle of Coruscant mentioned in Heroes on Both Sides ?

 

Non screen info in film novelizations aren't canon. TPM novel states that the Sith are only 2000 years old, but 'Tarkin', a canon novel, states they are at least 5000 years old.

 

True but still, the jedi clearly knows who Bane is, and about his rule of two which implies that the Banite Sith and Jedi has clashed for many, many years.

 

The OS just says they met him and learnt of his secret before he died. When he was buried by them, the Jedi believed the Sith were gone for good.
