    It was the form used by a Duro's Jedi named Felanil Baaks. It's apparently used as a training form, for those just beginning to learn how to use the Lightsaber.

    Vaapad is Form VII in as much as it is part of Juyo(Form VII). But Juyo covers more than just Vaapad, not all of Juyo is Vaapad.

    Wait, I thought Mace called it Vaapad after the creature of the same name. Perhaps the Jedi chose another name for the new form. Could it be that Vaapad and Juyo are merely Form VII with different names, Val?

    From what I've been told, Vaapad is only part of Juyo. Vaapad is form VII, but not all of Form VII. Form VII covers more than just Vaapad.

    Apparently Juyo is the ancient name for the form, before Mace came along and added Vaapad into it. Mace came along made Juyo his own, and added Vaapad into it (some students will sometimes use Vaapad as the nickname for Form VII, though its only part of Form VII).

    Someone with the Hero's Guide could probably clear things up better though.

    [face_thinking] That would fit with Maul using a corrupt form of VII, as he supposedly did.

    Here is more info about some additional fighting semi-forms beyond the known 8, known as Sokan, Shien, and Niman here.

    "Though the seven lightsaber forms discussed in the Hero's Guide are the most commonly accepted fighting styles, a few other styles exist that are considered fringe and are not formally recognized as full-fledged forms. Our web enhancement gives you new Force feats for Sokan, Shien, and Niman styles of lightsaber combat."

    Niman (II) is a two lightsaber fighting style, where as Niman (Form VI) is a single blade style.

    I'm not sure what the exact difference is between Shien, and Shien(II) is though. But the link says that Shien(II) involves "long, sweeping strikes to take down several enemies at a time."?

    Shien (II) sounds awefully like "Strong" from Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy.

    It should also be noted that it was Jedi: Mace Windu the original source for Vaapad (well maybe after NEGTC, whichever came first), that first said that Vaapad is merely a manuever within Form VII;

    That last move... it was a form seven maneuver. Vaapad."
    -Jedi: Mace Windu.

    "That would fit with Maul using a corrupt form of VII, as he supposedly did."

    That was according to Fight Saber, so ya its official that he used a corrupt version of Form VII.

    Ok, found info about Form Zero.

    "Form Zero -- of wielding the lightsaber without igniting it. Form Zero is the truest form of wielding a lightsaber. If you cannot wield a lightsaber without igniting it, then you should consider whether you are worthy to wield it at all. I do not doubt that there are many present -- some Padawans included -- who could easily best me, were we to spar with lightsabers. Being able to defeat another being is insignificant, though, unless you can understand that being, and accept that if the situation were different, he might be as completely justified in killing you as you feel in killing him. You must understand when to ignite and when to ignore. That is Form Zero."-Felanil Baaks, Jedi Artisan and Teacher, Cularin Jedi Academy
