    hey all

in order to combat the hideously ugly "cirrhosis of the liver" yellow we got going on here now, we're going to have a contest to replace the header for the DFWFF forum.

    requirements:
must have the words "DFW Fan Force" & "www.dfwfanforce.net" and at least one of our two logos.
also, i'm a stickler for the quality of the work, no pixelization around the edges, sharp clear fonts/text, no abrupt egdes where the image suddenly cuts off, no unnecessary smudgey blurs.

    optional requirements:
can have the words "forum" our "jedi council" etc.

    must not have:
anything "objectionable", keep it clean. your name or logo or anything, we want this to be about US not you.

    images specs:
Foreground.jpg - 764 x 110 - The foreground image that the Amphitheatre logo will be placed on.
Background.jpg - 764 x 110 - This is the tiled graphic behind amph_foreground.jpg. If you look at the current image, the picture repeats itself without making it blatantly obvious. You need to be able to do the same thing.
Side.jpg - 32 x 465 - The sidebar image that connects with the foreground and the curve images.
Curve.jpg - 69 x 69 - The curve image that connects the corners of the foreground and sidebar images.
ad_left.jpg - The image that sits to the left of the advertisement banner. No dimension restrictions here, but try to keep it less than 80 pixels high (dimension suggestion is 60 pixels) and less than 100 pixels wide.
ad_right.jpg - The image that sits to the right of the advertisement banner. No dimension restrictions here, but try to keep it less than 80 pixels high (dimension suggestion is 60 pixels) and less than 100 pixels wide.
    forums.jpg - 437 x 88 - The picture you see on the "Post A Reply" page.

    resources:
    google image search

    templates & logos:
    forum template JPG
    forum template PSD
    dfwff logo 1 JPG
    dfwff logo 1 PSD
    dfwff logo 2 JPG
    dfwff logo 2 PSD

    what to turn in:
take the forum template, do your thing, and send me jayd@dfwfanforce.net either a JPG or a photoshop PSD [prefer psd] by November 21, 2002

i'll post them all online and we can do a vote.

    have fun.

Yeah, this board does kind of give the 'loose bladder' feel, doesn't it? ;)

I tried, but the characters too closely resembled gay Stikfa figures with down syndrome.

    It wasn't pretty.

Stone....all of yours rocks! I am a pitiful fourth me thinks :( . I am practicing
my PS so maybe my next one will be better!

My vote would be for STONEs #1

That's some good work stone :)

    #1 is really cool

All four are excellent -- good work, guys!

I think I'd vote for Stone #2 first and Stone #1 second. Stone #1 is the best, but I like the "all about the original Star Wars" aspect of #2. :)

    I vote for Stone's #1 ... I love the concept of Stone's #3. I like Jango's use of Julio. :D

I, too, liked the direction you were heading with #3 Stone. But until/unless you finish it, my vote goes for #1.

    I really didn't like #2 (but who ever likes #2! ;)). I thought #2 was... #2.... Riiight...

And I liked Jango's use of the DFW skyline and of course, Count Juli-ooku. A very good effort dude. And apparantly the only person brave enough to go up against Stone, since no one else even tried. (well, i tried, but recall the Stikfas comment above... ;))

Well, I did not know of Stone's mastery ;) . But now I know...

    *smarts from the fresh spanking*

That was my first crack at Photoshop.
