Also, collateral damage - I mean, it's Denning, whatever happens, the Jedi will be blamed, right?

That was one of the few things I liked about Cade, he had learned enough history to know that being a Jedi was a thankless job often.

The opening Jedi assault/assasinations weren't nice, but it was a dire situation, so I didn't mind it too much. All the Tribe Sith were smug jerks, or maybe it was because of how stupid many other elements in the book were that it made that look less stupid.

i enjoyed the series to a point. I thought it's existence was kind of bad for Luke's legacy especially when you add the "One sith" to it.

There were some strong highlights but later into the series the characters did seem lifeless. It got to the point where thye became just a random character with a name attached. This was especially evident after the series with "Crucible". You can't just put a character name on someone and it be their character. It has to feel like the character based on the past films, and novels. Luke seemed souless to me by Crucible. But yeah the last two novels sucked. I actually really enjoyed "Conviction, and ironically "Abyss" by Denning was great. Also loved Ben in "Backlash". But every author had a diifferent Ben.

Yeah, that's about how I feel on the series. And yes, Ben in Backlash is one of my favorite depictions of him–it seems like both of Allston's second novels in the nine-book series were dedicated to Ben; in Exile a fair bit of it was about him on his mission to Ziost, and most of the Dathomir POVs belonged to Ben in Backlash. The only depiction of Ben that matches up to either of those two is Revelation, when he really gets to show off his detective skills and come into his own character.

I thought the Ben of Sacrifice was fairly well handled.

Am I the only one that enjoyed this series? Yes, it focused too much on having our main characters in battles rather than adventures, which is what, imo, Star Wars should be, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Unfortunately, I can't read, let alone enjoy, a series built on Jacen Solo's mutilated corpse.

This is a correct summation of FOTJ in general.

So anyone have a theory on how the Lost Tribe was ended for good?

In another thread Sinrebirth and I were discussing that the Lost Tribe might have captured by Darth Krayt and turned into those super trooper things from Legacy: War.
Works for me. How about the rest of you?

Can you really keep calling them the Lost Tribe after they've been found?

Not related to Force Smuggler's question (I'll get back to that later) but I have a quick note. I really do think Denning wanted to (and wanted everyone else to) forget NJO. It was talking about all the things bad that had happened to Coruscant, and the Vong attack was specifically not mentioned.

    yes

I find it amusing that Denning excluded the destruction of one of Coruscant's moons, the alteration of its orbit, and the complete reshaping of its surface from major events that happened on it.

    Didn't happen I guess.

Not to mention that Kessel's moon reconstituted itself in FOTJ after it got blown up by KJA because the proto Death Star was so crap that it missed Kessel because the moon was in the way. o_O

Mistake on Allston's part? Or Denning's? OR the editors?
Such a shame that Denning wanted to ignore the NJO. Also ignore Legacy as well.

Yeah, everything can't go to him (though most of it does). As much as I want to preserve Allston's legacy, nobody's perfect, and that mistake's on him.

Allston's first mistake was coming back to write for Fate of the Jedi.

I mean, as a matter of pride, after seeing how Legacy of the Force turned out, I personally wouldn't have wanted to be involved with a follow up project with an identical format.
