No running for me. Unless someone else has a gun. Or I do. As in paintball. But 5k and that type of running is nonsense, IMHO. Too many shin splints and leg pain for me to keep running like that.

Well, at least I won't run if it's anytime soon. I need to start hitting the gym again. Beginning to see those extra pounds from sitting around doing homework and eating ice cream.
Anyway, my ultimate goal in the next couple of months is to get my all-time fastest mile record down from 9m 50s. I'm not really built for running. Just pounding and poking with swords.

 

It's usually the first weekend in October... And we'll also have a group walking, if you can't run.

I'd love to run this, and actually got my gym membership back, but I can't actually commit right now. I have two things on the set-in-stone schedule for this year - Starfest and Dragon*Con. School and saving takes precedence over everything else, I'm afraid.

So, despite the (I'm sure they were good) intentions of the satellite, I can't actually say yes to this. No matter how much I'd like to. I'm just going to have to wait until the date gets much closer before I can even consider it. Sorry.

 

But you can run if SLC has a Breast run/walk thing. We will be on our couches cheering you on

wow I need a new couch all mine does is sit there.

 

They do - it's in April. (what isn't in April - sheesh!) I'll have to find out when the exact date it, cuz I don't know that I'll be 5K-ready that soon. But I can try, and I can certainly walk it.

I'm thinking that we will run as fast as our slowest runner. I'm fine with half and half too. We should get together at least once a month to run together til the race.

 

I'm not sure if ours cheers or cries when we sit on it.

 

I'm up for it. I'll volunteer for the title of "slowest runner" too. Lemme know when and where you guys are training.

The Mrs. and I should be able to join you. Maybe we can draft Mrs. Wannabe and you'd get the whole Brawny Troop. We're currently training for the Denver Oyster Race and this would be a great training opportunity for us.

All you fit people can go do your running, but the real party will be with the walkers. right? right?

and I mean we'll be walking, not that we'll need walkers.
