I.E., CA Free Comic Book Day - May 1st

The first time is always the best, you seem like there is to much to do but it all works out and it is a blast, we very glad your first one is with us here at the IEFF!!!!! welcome to the FCBD FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Ah thanks gang for the accolades but I gotta say when you love what you're doing and who you're doing it with and for it doesn't seem like so much work at all....but I'll be happy to post my hat-size if anyone wants to still pitch in for that crown

We're jazzed and super psyched that you and Natalie are going to be there with us to share in the awesomeness and wholesome goodness and fandomness and...well I think you get the point! It's quite an amazing day to say the least. It'll get you ready and pumped for SW Day on the 29th!

Hi folks! It was great saying "hi" to some of you again on Free Comic Book day. It was a fun event all around, but the Star Wars fans & friends were a big highlight for me. I got a few cool pictures which I'd like to share with the group if possible (& hopefully post at least one to my blog someday!). I look forward to seeing you at the R.C. library event later this month!

 

Just to let everyone know we raised an awesome $220.11 from the raffle!

Holy Cow that was an Awesome FCBD! There were approx 2200 people that had stopped by this year! This was by far our best year ever! We actually raised $241 but we had a couple of small expenses to which we were left with $220. Way to go people!


I personally want to say THANK YOU to Chris at Four Color Fantasies for inviting us to FCBD. Without Chris, we wouldn't be able to represent our fine group and raise some money at the same time. We wouldn't be able to show the folks out there why they should join us. I'm sending Chris an email and phone call on behalf of the IEFF, but if you want to call him and say thanks for the invite, I know it would mean alot to him.


Before I post pics, I want to say Thank You to all for showing up. The excitement and enthusiasm was over the top this year! It really showed how good we are as a group and how much fun we totally have, see the pics for that!


Having everyone happily and enthusiastically volunteering for their IEFF table time, showed your true spirit in wanting to participate and represent the IEFF. We've never been better!Everyone was on time, ready to go, and gave it their all. You definitely should be proud of yourselves.


As a side note, it was good to see folks who we haven't seen in a while and may be joining the group once again. Will keep you posted as that happens. We made some good contacts this year, as we may have a few new folks join us as in new members. We had an interesting conversation with one lady in particular when we were done. We should be seeing her soon. I was also able to get us some outside exposure with a couple of podcasts and outside exposure of the group. I'll link when it happens.


Okay...I want to say a little something about each of you now. I could give each of you long Kudos as I was very proud to see all of you there helping out and wanting to participate. To save time, I'll briefly summarize.


I want to say a huge thank you to Doug. He first joined the group last SW Day and hasn't been able to join us for much other than on the boards. This was his first FCBD and he was obviously blown away! He actually had a couple of people ask for his autograph...too funny! Doug gets a shout out for helping set up and take down. Anyone who has done this, knows it takes time and isn't the funnest part of any event. His participation was over the top! Looking forward to SW Day on the 29th with you and many more public events where you get to represent the IEFF.


I want to say a big look out now Thank You to Ronnie + Nikol. I want each of you to know their dedication to this group is bar none! Ronnie was up fixing his truck till after midnight just to be here. They then drove from their home in Acton to be with us and represent the IEFF. No complaining on their part either! You two are to this group as apple pie is this great country! Having you with us is always a treat and is never the same without you. Thanks for all your promoting and general good spirits! Thanks for stopping by last minute to pic up the table cloth and donating toward the raffle with your kid prizes you brought. You two ROCK!


Jennifer...I hope we didn't scare your sister Monica too much! Thanks for introducing her to the group. She's welcome back anytime, not that we'll let her leave though. Your table time was and always is much appreciated, as well as seeing your smiling face! You light up the booth whenever you're there. We're looking forward to seeing you on the 29th for sure. I also want to say THANK YOU for your kind and generous raffle prizes you and Allen brought. That made a kid very happy that day indeed. Your unselfish volunteering and wanting to give to the group is something that should be a standard for all new members who join us.

Great pics as always!! Was bummed to miss it this year but the wonderful book of Strategic Management Chapters 9 through 13 had priority this year.

 

Natalie and I had a great time for the last two day's she has been wanting to see the pics now she can lol.

Maybe next time we will hang out Devin was pretty tired and he wanted to take a nap to much excitement and jumper for him..

And thank you mike and all the members who welcomed me and my wife and Devin with opened arms we really had a great time, Natalie is looking forward to May 29th and so am I But the little Devin wont be able to join us for that day.

Thank you to you too Mike for the wonderful words of thanks. You and Sheila are the best, you make everyone feel so welcome (even a reluctant sister-who had a good time). The both of you make sure to include everyone whether you've known them for 5 minutes or 10,000 years!!! Not that I think you are old. Not everyone has that talent which is so essential in leadership.

I love the pics and I took the one of the wonder twin rings which is a great picture if I may say so myself
