Abq Free Comic Book Day - May 7th - Lobo Anime & Comics

This Saturday, folks! I'll call Henry from Lobo this afternoon and get the details. I'll post them as soon as I can...

 

I'll get a hold of Henry or Ron today and get the skinny on Saturday...

 

Just talked to Ron at Lobo.

Free Comic Book Day is still on. They have been also been advertising in the Alibi the last couple of weeks about their sidewalk sale on Saturday. Ron's still excited about having us come again, but this time the event doesn't really start until about noon. (For me, it starts at 10:00am - maybe I'll make it in time this year!)

He said he's trying to get everything together by noon and they stay open till 8pm. We can shut down whenever we want - he's pretty open to anything.

What I'd like:

Banner - Lor, if you will be there, can you bring the banner? If not, I'll come pick it up at your place tomorrow night or Saturday morning.
Flyers - Lor, can we do a new temp flyer highlighting the movie and our trooping at the theaters?
Toy Sale - we've got figures left over from last year that Alfonso donated. We'll sell them for a buck or two a piece, with 50% to go to CMN, if that's cool. The other 50% can go towards expenses for materials we'll need for Bubonicon.
Costumes! - If you're free and have a costume, come and wear it! If you don't have a costume, but are still free, come! This is the last thing we'll be doing before the movie comes out!

 

So what time are we meeting there?

 

Is 11:00 good for everyone?

We'll go till we get tired?

so i have a jedi costume-- if that's ok-- not entirely film accurate-- but pretty good-- do you have any room for jedi there?
or is it all imperials -b/c my imperial costume isn't done yet!!

Not necessary to bring anything. Just yourself, your costume, and no questions asked...

 

Now that's the real trick isn't it? It is going to cost you somethin extra.

 

Cyn, we have members from both the 501st AND the Rebel Legion, and plenty from NEITHER, so you can go as anything you like! Let me know when you want that contact for the trooper armor... Jess or I can give you his email address...

 

Ok 1100 where is this place at?

Will bring costume, but don't know about wearing it, depends on how how it is and everything else.

 

nm - its in the Raileys shopping center at Tramway and Central.

 

Darth Diva will bring his costume but has to see how he feels before he wears it. Runs from force lightning!

Then again, this is coming from someone who can dress at home - full costume sans helmet, and drive anywhere while suited up.

Also keep in mind...this event is the 1 year Anniversary of the "Bad Influence Tour"! For those of you who are new on the boards....here is the story behind that:

Last year on Saturday July 3rd...Brian, Varza, Lor, Michelle, Bob, Julie and myself attended the Free Comic Book Day at Lobos Comics. It was a warm day and we all were having a great time! At some point around mid-day...this older lady walked by me (I was in my armor) and more or less yelled at me "You are a BAD INFLUENCE on todays children/teenagers!" Our mouths just dropped....was she talking to us? We were just stunned! Perhaps she had a bad experience with the Empire before? Perhaps her family had not been paying their Imperial taxes and the Empire sent some Tax Collectors (in armor) to collect them? Whatever the reason...I figured she was upset because somebody had dropped a house on her sister!

And that is where the "Bad Influence Tour" came from! Join us in celebrating this monumental event this Saturday at Lobos Comics!

That's funny. She should have gone a couple miles further down Central. Then she would have seen some real bad influences on our children.

 

well I live right down the road from lobo so ill be there. but im sure to make it see you all there.

 

We heard back from Sarah Wolf, the reporter at the Journal.

She will be coming to the Lobo Comics tomorrow with a photographer in tow!

Now, don't make me remind everyone to be on their best behavior, or I'll have to ban the lot of ya!!!!!

awesome! I am glad she will be coming... now just have her come to the BBQ and movie opening for follow ups. Yeah!!
