Lou, KY Free Comic Book Day Planning

We’re less than a month away from Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) which falls on Derby (as always) and “May the Fourth” (Be With You) this year. I’m actually off this year so Doug at Comic Book World has agreed to let us have a table. I’ll take care of set up as usual. I plan on wearing my Tie Pilot which looks cool but isn’t the best outfit for talking to (or seeing) people in. I can struggle through but some LGA ambassadors to field questions at the table while I work the crowd would be helpful. If you can make it I’d prefer we do kind of a shift thing because of space so we’re not all there crowding up the place at the same time. Store opens at 11:00 and stays pretty crowded until 2 or 3 PM.

 

Roger Red Leader. Red 1, standing by. I can take any shift available. I'll wear my LGA T-shirt.

 

Sigh. FCBD is, as always, on Derby-- so I will not be able to help with this. As a proud Kentuckian, I got things to do that day: and Ms. Jammies is to Horse Racing what I am to Star Wars Lit! Not kidding, quiz her sometime-- her knowledge of the sport blows me away, and her wagers add to our 401k.

I know the Great Escape does FCBD the day AFTER Derby for that very reason.

If there is a way I can help, I will of course. Just don't forget to save me a free star wars comic!

Unless the high command has to work, I will be there. Speaking of which, how do I go about becoming a full fledged member with tshirt, patches and so on? And I would wear my Darth Nihilus costume but alas, that would look funny with a cast on my leg....

 

Awesome Wolf! We're happy to have you in the group (and on FCBD). There's no uniform...just wear a Star Wars t-shirt and you're good. We haven't done a LGA t-shirt run in a couple of years, it's probably time to look into it...mine is looking kind of ratty. As for patches I'll make sure you get one when I see you next.

Oh I know we're they are at. I was a Games Workshop Outrider back in the day, I don't recall how many demos I ran there... I am also a founding member of the Louisville Wargamers Association, and that used to be we're we played our league games. Ah the good old days... Lol.

Heh, that's okay, we'll just see what happens. Doug was being mysterious this week when I picked up my comics, said they were going to do things a little different this year so I'm not sure what to expect
