Yes, an actual replica of a carbon freezing chamber can be yours for the low, low price of FREE. It was bulit with the blood, sweat and love of your fellow Chicago Forcers back in 2004 for the Capricon room suite we had. Now, sadly, it sits in storage and must be moved soon or it will be destroyed. The light fixtures are all still there and in working order.

Granted, it is big (about 3 pickup trucks full) but if you or anyone you know would like this item, please contact me at jodokast610@yahoo.com. We must get this chamber removed by December 1st. I will also help with the loading and possibly unloading. Here's pics of it....

You're too much of a ham as it is, Springer...

Heya all! Heard that the old carbon chamber was looking for a home. If no one else has a burning desire to freeze their friends in carbonite from time to time, I'd love to get the carbon chamber, maybe use it at a local sci fi convention for some ambiance. Nothing says love like a Tibanna gas mine, eh?

I'm still living in St. Louis but am moving back to Chicago early next year. Let me see if I can find a place to store the beast until then.

And Springer, if you want a special ham for christmas, just let me know, eh? I still fantasize about making one for George sometime and sending it to him for the holidays :p so I need to practice.

Does anyone else sit around and wonder what kinds of critters from the Star Wars universe could be made into dinner dishes?

I hope Shauna is able to give the carbon freezing chamber a good home...IMHO, it represents one of Chicago Force's finest moments.

I will take a Admiral Hambar anytime you have one to send. Although I would prefer a chocolate Yaddle.

Well, I had some ideas on this and then saw the 20-day time frame
    requirements.

    Nov 11 post to Dec-01

Very glad to see someone interested in this:)

Long term projects like this need to have a life of there own.

In a related note, Han in Carbonite, is currently a hot topic at
    therpf.com
for those who also know of that board.

but most amazing about this thread is someone with only 11-posts,
is interested from St Louis, whose first post is about South Bend
(whose boards I also hang out at)

anyway, those are my thoughts on the subject

She also designed and built a large portion of it (before the move to STL).

What's with the Han/Carbonite on the RPF forms? Can I get a link?

It is a dumb rule designed, in futility, to keep scammers out.

Anyways, it is a recast of a long long out of production HIC piece which was alleged to be cast from the real deal. Illusive Originals is the original producer of this piece I believe. If you are interested let me know. The cost is $500 according to the thread. It is ONLY for the front piece that is Han NOT the main frame or side control panels.

Didn't HazMatt create his Han in Carbonite without a mold? Or did he use the mold for the front?

The face is the only part that was molded, and it was purchased from some company that does celebrity death masks. The rest is just styrofoam and papier-maché.

Speaking of which...Haz, I'm assuming that you didn't pick up your Frozen Han from the garage before taking off. If not...does it go with the CFC, or did you want to try to get it?

I did not pick it up, but I will be in the Windy City (very briefly) this weekend to snag it.

    Hi all!
Dave and I worked something out so I have a little more time to pick up the Carbon Chamber stuff once I'm moving back up to Chicago.

Haz, Dave suggested that once you have your Han in Carbonite, you could mail the spare key over to me so I can start getting stuff out of the garage. I'll get my address to you.

Thanks all! Once I'm up there, I'll look for an opportunity to use the carbon chamber again. Perhaps we might take it down to Dragoncon, or use it at Capricon or Windycon. Hmmmm....Any ideas?

    :D

Having never been to Dragoncon (tho many have urged me to go)

If it ever became a Chicago Force mission involving HAN and a
Carbon Freezing Chamber, I would be motivated.

    Cause for some reason,
    endless costumes, wild parties,
glutenous consumption of food and beverages,
    and
some kind of sub rosa "rendezvous" (ron day voo-s)
    that causes many to say,
what happens at Dragon Con stays at Dragon Con,

    are just not the same

without the Chicago Force and a Carbon Freezing Chamber[face_whistling]
