Geocities is always a safe bet for brand new sites, otherwise there are some other larger star wars fan sites that do host on a limited basis. What kind of site are you looking to build? What sort of language support are you going to need for programming? Are you sure you need a website? There might be a way to make your idea work on something like MySpace or Facebook and be more accessible and successful. The more information you give, the more people on the forum can help.

I am a bit late here, but I've always liked Awardspace.com. A nice, friendly site with no ads. At least, they didn't use to have ads.
