    Radhakrishnan, i'm not familiar with him. indian philosophy is one tradition that i've never really studied.

    was he hindu?

    EDIT: and yeah Debo i think you're pretty much right on as far as american philosophy goes.

    His philosophy was based on Vedic ideas. :)

    Here's a very interesting page about his life and writings.
    My husband is Hindu and first introduced me to Radhakrishnan.

    I've tried to read the Eastern philosophy books that were popular during the 60s (via George Harrison), but -- and this may sound odd -- they always seemed too right to me. I agreed with everything, so it didn't really interest me.

    Though I know that's not really true.

    he looks to be a very interesting and prolific thinker. i've read and studied the upanishads, but the only modern indian thinker that i've had any experience with is Sri Aurobindo.
