I didn't find this anywhere in the index, so feel free to link me to it. Is there any talk about a full episode release of the Droids and Ewoks TV series?

Hey Wookie, I thought you might be interested. This is a petition for Holiday Special DVD http://forums.starwars.com/thread.jspa?forumID=3&threadID=35719. The link is about halfway down the page. We should also find a way to petition for the ewok and droids cartoons

Yeah, I've seen that petition. I signed it, but I fear that it probably won't do any good. :(

But I hope somehow, someway, some day, Lucas drops the hammer and releases the holiday special on DVD or Blu-ray.

Blu-ray is what will replace DVD. It is a high-definition video format that Lucas is apparently planning to release the SW films on in 2007. See this link for more info:

I'd love a full release. And I think it would be nice if they released the Holiday Special's cartoon segment as a bonus short on the Droids DVD.

I'm pretty sure that's what would happen if they ever do a full Droids/Ewoks release. Because, although George may hate the rest of the holiday special, the one thing he doesn't mind is the animated segment.

i hope not. I hope their will be 3 dvds. One every episode of ewoks, one every episode of droids, and one the full show of Holiday Special, cartoon and deleted scenes included

Rick McCallum has mentioned a full release on many separate occasions, so I'm not worried. All that "bonus material we've been holding back" will suddenly push itself out next year. There really isn't a reason, given the success of Clone Wars and the direction the saga is currently headed in, for them to not release these series.

I suspect they'll release the complete Droids and Ewoks series around the time the new 3D Clone Wars hits TV. It would be the perfect time, IMHO, to get all of us SW fans to buy them. I know I would!

Me too. We need some kind've 6 disc edition thing, and a few bonus materials would be cool too but maybe not necassary. (An Anthony Daniels commentary maybe?)

did you see that droids and ewoks special on the front page? the history behind the vhs and dvd releases, i hope this is a foreshadow for a full release for both, every episode untouched in th near future. what do you think, if they do it, when is the soonest it would come out?

I saw it. But when I first read the title, I only saw "Droids and Ewoks releases," and I almost thought that TF.N was reporting an official announcement of a full release. Then I re-read the title...:(

But if and when they do release the full, uncut series, I think it would be around the time that the 3D Clone Wars hits TV. It would be the perfect time, IMHO, for Lucasfilm to cash in on interest in their animated productions.

Yeah really what's the deal with releasing this half @$$ DVD that doesn't even have the full series. You might as well go all the way. The only people who are going to buy the DVDs are the people who want the complete series.
