Notice how most of the laughs stem from bad filmmaking...

    My favorites:

Anakin's "dream"/nightmare sequence. heheheheh really funny, yet at the same time really sad.

Natalie's "acting" was, at times, funny.

Obi-Wan's "Not good" line was the one I honestly think is the funniest line (in terms of comedy timing).

    Top-Five

    1. Nute Gunray laugh when he saw Padme being slashed. (I actually laugh with him)

    2. "Machine making machine....." C-3PO

    3. When Padme said to Jar Jar "I won't waste ur time....." when she see Jar Jar begin his evil act. Does the "ur" in the Padme's line mean us, audience???

    4. Anakin talk to Obi-Wan, "What about Padme?" and Obi-Wan find out that she has escaped in Arena.

    5. Yoda picking up his walking stick after the duel. (Hiding the sword skill to Padme and Clonetrooper??)

There are many others too but not as interesting as these.

"but one of my favorite lines is one that i think no one in the world has laughed at but me. when obi-wan goes to see dexter in the diner, dexter sees obi-wan and greets him then obi-wan says to dex- "hello dex" the way ewan says that line just makes me laugh, am i the only who has laughed at that scene"

I thought it was funny too. I also get a grin when Obi-Wan says "Depends on *what*, Dex?" Once again, the delivery.

Like mentioned by others, I loved "Good job!", "Shut me down!" and Threepio calling Artoo an idiot was funny as well.

It has been mentioned previously but when C-3P0 is fighting with the droids in the arena and says something like, "Die you jedi!" or something and then apologizes I just coudn't control my laughter. It was so funny! I bet there's a good chance that line was C-3PO (the actor's) idea. Man that was funny to me.

I loved everytime Anakin got dissed.

"Oh Annie you'll always be that boy I knew on Tatoine."
"Oh I shouldn't have done that"
"Oh Anakin isn't a Jedi, he's just a padawan learner"
    etc.

Its like ... duh. that had to hurt.

I loved all of Obi wan's one-liners too.
    especally "I DONT THINK SO"

No! I agree both those were great and I found them VERY funny! You're right the delivery was excellent! :)

Nearly forget that, I was amazed when I saw Dex's Dinner. I don't know why there is such a dwarf building situated in Coruscant not undergoing redevelopment to make it higher. it just a waste of land. Then I just laughed.

    Favorite lines:

    "Not good."
    "Lost a planet. How embarassing."
    "I love democracy."
"Jar Jar, I don't want to hold you up."

Even funnier than the stuff in the movie is reading erudite film critics struggling to understand the movie through their own ignorance and negativity! THAT'S ENTERTAINING.

I wish I could be a bad filmmaker like George Lucas so I could be worth 3 billion dollars.

The scenes that made me laugh the most were the ones that weren't intended to be funny, such as:

-Padme falling out of the dropship and popping right back up

-the dialogue in the love scenes, i.e. Anakin's "Sand is so course and rough..." and Padme's "I die a bit each day.."

-Anakin's dream about his mother... maybe it wouldn't have been so funny if he wasn't sleeping naked..

-Shmi's death scene.. "I l.. I lo... I lov.." *Dead*, and then her head just kinda flops to the side.

-Boba Fett holding up his father's dismembered head. I was hoping the head would just slide out, but I guess the lightsaber fused the helmet shut

-Like someone said, the use of the word "M'lady"

and did anyone ever notice Anakin's annoying... I dunno what to call it... accent?!? I just hated the way he delivered some of his lines.. I'm from Toronto, and I've never heard anyone w/ an accent like his..

Remember Padme is talking to us.

Yeah, that's the line! I forgot in previous post, sorry. Thanks DarthKarma!

    I almost forgot one scene:

-In the arena on Geonosia, when Anakin is riding the Reek, Padme jumps from the top of the piller and lands perfectly on the thing's back, without hurting herself..

The "flipmaster" yoda stuff is called Wushu, a highly acrobatic Chinese martial art.

I personally found most of the scenes already mentioned funny. I also liked the line "I hate it when he does that!" when Anakin jumps out of the air speeder on Coruscant.

Nah, the funniest scene is when obi-wan is looking for anakin and padme on naboo. And then obi wan says "oh well" and then changes the channel and watches porn instead.

Actually, it depends on what kind of "funny" you're talking about.."saracastic" funny, as in "George, get a friggin clue," or funny as chuckles.

(Long-time lurker here, first-time poster. Hope youse all are good to newbies.)

    "Chuckles" funny:
The diner on Coruscant, where Obi-wan meets Dex. The whole thing, hilarious. Dex's pants sagging. The waitress droid was a hoot-I thought, "flashbacks from GL's teenage days." The very fact hat Coruscant, the capital, has grease pits. ESP at that level--isn't the upper levels supposed to be the "posh" dector? The equivalent of a NYC deli in Queens maybe.

Obi-wan's priceless one-liners. Ewan has got this role down to a science..."You ought to go home and rethink your life" (that's become my motto this past week--wow, I never thought "Mouse" from the Matrix could pull off that voice, I THOUGHT there was something familar about him).."Good job".."Anakin..how many times have I told you..to stay away from--AAAH!--POWER COUPLINGS!!" ""That's why I'm here," on Kamino..the expression on his face..PRICELESS..."I can sense everything going on in that room.." "Your senses aren't _that_ attuned, my young apprentice." "And yours are?" Possibly." That whole subtle innuendo in that exchange, like who's gonna take turns watching Padme strip, though the Force...

Anakin: EXCUSE ME> I'm in charge of security here, m'lady.." that whole thing. I can go on and on.

"Funny" as in sarcastic: "Can't really think of any, unless a bit of the dialogie in the Fireplace scene made a me cringe..but I can't decide if Ani was just desperate to put the moves on her b/c that was the only chance he'd ever get, being away from Obi-wan, who sounds like the worst parent imaginable (God, I'd hate to be a Padawan), or if he was jjust acting out his obsession. Maybe both.

Teta is right. A lot of things are intentionally funny, while others are only funny to hard core fans.
    Top 5 intentionally funny scenes:
    1)Yoda telling Obi-Wan "How embarassing"
2)Yoda walking away after his duel
3)Obi-Wan's one liners, especially "nice job"
    4)Padme punking Ani
5)When the Jedi grins during the battle

First off, let me say that some of you people have a really sick sense of humor. The scene where Shmi dies is funny? What is the matter with you? And the scenes where Anakin gets dissed--somehow the humor is lost when the laughs are at someone else's expense. Anakin's feelings were hurt during those scenes. Reminds me of the scene in TPM when Qui-Gon snaps at Obi-Wan, "Now get on board." People dissed that scene like crazy, saying Qui-Gon is being a jerk, but Anakin gets dissed worse and people think it's OK.

Anyway, here are my funniest scenes, or lines:

"Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing."

Dex hugging Obi-Wan and pulling his pants up over his crack with the other hand.

Anakin jumping out of the speeder--"I hate it when he does that."

In the cantina: "Jedi business. Go back to your drinks." Also--"Where are you going?" ('duh' look) "To have a drink."

    Obi-Wan on Kamino--"Not good."

Anakin and Padme at dinner: "Aggressive negotiations?" "Negotiations...with a lightsaber." Also, "If Master Obi-Wan saw me doing this, he'd be very grumpy."

Yoda fighting--damn, remind me not to piss off that little green troll. :p

C3PO and the battle droid: "My legs aren't moving. I must need maintenance." "I'm so confused."

Anakin, Padme, and Obi-Wan in the arena: "What about Padme?" "She seems to be on top of things."

Nute Gunray: "Hey! She can't do that! Shoot her or something!"

The scene were Shmi dies. I had to hold my stomach because I was laughing soooo hard. And how great it was that she was able to hold on until Anakin arrived.

I also agree that the scene when Padme fell off the ship was absolutely hilarious!!! I can't believe I was the only one in the theater who thought it was funny when she got up like nothing happened and did her little sprint across the sand.

    :) :)

I think men have more to fear with that sort of jump than Padme would! [face_devil] Anakin may have "helped" her as well!

I liked just about everything Obi-Wan said!! He also let Dooku know he felt right off with "Traitor!!"

I agree Anakin_Girl, I don't see why everyone finds Shmi dying so funny! I almost started crying and I NEVER cry over movies.

    *sighs* Wierd People. :p

It's funny cos I thought that "Traitor!" Thing was pretty ammusing, you half expected Count Dooku to say: "Good to see you too Obi-Wan." ;)

I don't know about 'funny' but I like the part where Anakin's lementing over Padme 'ignoring' him and thinking he's a child. And Obi-Wan's all: "Anakin don't center on that." etc. Pause.... "And she WAS glad to see us." Nice to know he's sypathetic :)

    The 1st time I watch Shmi's die I don't cry.
    (Maybe I'm watching with friends...)

The 2nd time ,when I see it myself, I burst into tears.

Anyway, any Nute Gunray's line is fun (just like what it is in TPM)....

Upon further viewings I find a lot of Obi-Wan's reactions and lines to be funny. I get a kick out of his fruity laugh inside the elevator going up to Padmes apartment. I also like when he says hello to the little padawans, his visit with Dex, his mind trick on Elan, and his 'good job' and 'not good' lines.
