Tucson FWHS performance of Ep. 2 music on March 28

This event is located at: FLOWING WELLS HIGH SCHOOL,3725 N. Flowing Wells Road.
The performance runs from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, around an hour.
The STAR WARS Episode 2 music(Main Theme and Love Theme) will be performed at the end of the concert.
This will be on a Wednesday.

 

Talked it over with the band director, Mr. Gaston( I think his first name is Robert) yesterday, and here is what we decided:
Told him we had decided against a food drive, he was fine with that.
Explained the probable chaos the kids seeing us would cause, and this was his solution. The band will play the Main Title Theme and the Love Theme, then will announce that the band will perform an "encore" of the STAR WARS Main Theme. That will be our cue to come out and mingle.
We will probably need to do a walkthrough, or two, before the performance, so all those participating will need to be at the school by 4:30-5:00 PM at the latest.
He would also like us to use our backdrop to pose for pictures after the concert.

 

Sounds good. We don't want to distract from the kids. An encore is a good way to do it.

 

sounds like a great oppurtunity for us to work the crowd! Now we just need to keep the high scholl kids from messing with our suits!

Should have a CD copy of the Ep. 2 music by the 16th.

 

Do we know for sure what role we are going to have in this yet? Just come out onstage during the last track for the image with the music?

 

That is pretty much it. We come out for the surprise value and mingle and pose for pictures.

The program only runs about an hour. So, basicly, we come out during the last number and the rest of the evening is ours for pics. I have mentioned that the bands for all of the Flowing Wells elementary schools and Junior High school will be there performing with the high school band, haven't I?

 

I think you did. We had similiar band events in Washington. I'm a seasoned band parent.

 

Just a bump up to remind everybody this event happens in 4 weeks.

Some DSG are heading "down" to Tucson for a hospital visit, unless work does not permit Tucson's 501st are expected to show.

 

I wont be able to make it. Need a Vader volunteer.

 

I'd say yes, but I have never done armor, and I'm probably not "responsible" enough. No offense taken.

EDIT: I forgot what I wanted to post about in the first place.
I can't go to the second performance, as it will be in the middle of school.

 

Only three weeks, that's 21 days, until this event takes place.

I'm so glad to see this happening. I remember when you pitched this to the group Jack. I wish I could be there to support the event.

The Winston-Salem Symphony recently did a tribute to the music of John Williams and the last 15 minutes was all Star Wars. They had the 501st and Rebel Legion there re-enacting scenes from the movie. During Duel of the Fates the 501st's "PreBurn" Vader [aka ep3 Anakin] battled a whole bunch of Jedi and slayed them and then at the end he went to attack the conductor who turned around with a red lightsaber and "killed" Anakin. It was really funny.

[image=http://]Here it is, only 13 days to go for this event, and some of you are saying, "Jack, where the heck is Flowing Wells High School and where will we meet when we get there?
So I thought I would provide a map.

Here's the following color guide:
YELLOWis available parking and roads
RED is our destination, the west gym, site of the concert
BLUE is where I will meet you, between 4:30 and 5:00 PM

Hope that clears up any issues along that line. We need to be there by 5:00 PM AT THE LATEST so we can do a couple walkthroughs with the band leader. He's gonna be busy, so we need to be there ON TIME.

I'll keep you updated on any last-minute changes that may occur.

 

While on the topic of time, what time are we expecting to get out that night? I would need to set up my old fashioned VCR to record my Wed. night TV show (LOST) if it goes past like 8:30 or so.
