THe Ties at least 6 of them concentrated all their power on the Yt-1300 diverting it it snapped one which in turn careened into the hevily modded frieghters shields weakening them perceptibly

For starters, try to keep your posts together. Secondly, try to use the posting format which other players use. See mine for example. Thirdly, you cant do that in your last post. Only the Game Master can decide the outcome. Sorry.

    Varan System

The Nebulon-B Frigate began falling back into the system towards the rest of the defense fleet. Command respond that it would take thirty minutes for them to reach Varanii's present location and by that time the battle would be over, with either the pirates as the victors or the Imperials.

Seeing that the Imperials were retreating towards their companions, the pirates knew better than to persue them. But not wishing to play the waiting game with the Imperials, the larger ships aqcuired new targets nearby, outbound civilian cruise ships. If the Imperials continued to withdraw, the pirates would have free reign over the civilians. If the Imperials chose to fight, that left them alone against the pirates. Either way, the pirates were still in control of the battlefield. The initiative was theirs.

The YT-1300 was making good work against the Imperial TIE starfighters, but they did not go down without a good fight of their own. Of the four TIE Fighters and two Interceptors that were lost, seven Z-95s and two R-41s had been destroyed. The YT-1300 itself, now identified as the Dailic Dahres, had taken minimal damage to its hull on its port bow.

    Imperial Forces
    1 Nebulon-B Frigate
[Starfighter Squadrons: 1 TIE Fighter, 1 TIE Interceptor]
[Losses: 4 TIE Fighters, 2 TIE Interceptors]

    1 Modified YT-1300 Transport
    2 Bulk Freighters

Seing the Civilians on the screens something awakens in him.

Helm full power to engines intercept course.

All Stations prepare for heavy action..

The Frigate lurches forward a closes the distance as the enemy turns away with some of them much more exposed than before.

    Fire Control

We Are in range of the enemy sir,
All Batteries fire at will, disable the frieghters, they may get us but we'll make sure the haul was costly.
    All fighters Attack Enemy Fighters.

Varanii turned as the two stormtroopers and 4 naval troopers took up anti-boarding positions on the bridge , this was occuring all over the ship due to the tactical situation.

The Frigate continued to close Firing as it closed her shields reinforced as they were were holding.
Several of the Z-95s and R-41s came to close and were cut to peices by the 12 laser cannon aboard the frigate while the Turbos arranged basically into 3 batteries of four each hit the Bulk frieghters the Action and the Corvette.

If Im going to die, he thought im gonna cover these civilians first, give them a chance.

    Varan System

As expected the Imperial warship turned about and returned to intercept the pirates before they could reach the nearest civilian ship. The modified Corellian Corvette had hung back for this very reason so that when the frigate finished turning around and came into turbolaser range, it unleashed its volley of firepower against the frigate's nose. The Bulk Freighters had kept at a distance, out of range and were not in immediate danger of the enemy's turbolaser fire.

They continued to stay out of range of the frigate's weapon systems as they began to circle around toward its rear. The Razors and T-wings continued to protect them as did the Action VI transport. If the frigate chose to break off its attack on the Z-95s and R-41s and the Corvette, then it would expose its vulnerable neck to the Corvette's five of its six double turbolaser cannons and single concussion missile launcher.

The dogfight between the starfighters soon turned toward the Imperials favor as the superior TIE Interceptors made piece meal out of the older generation starfighters. But even they were having a difficult time taking down the corellian freighter. For every two pirates they took down, the YT-1300 took out one and damaged another. As such, the Imperials only had half of what they started out with in starfighters while the pirates were reduced to less than a squadron, not including the Razors and Ts.

    Imperial Forces
    1 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate [Damage: 70% Shields, 100% Hull]
[Starfighters Available: 5 TIE Fighters, 6 TIE Interceptors]

    Pirate Forces
1 Modified Corellian Corvette [Damage: 60% Shields, 100% Hull]
    1 Action IV Transport
    1 YT-1300 Transport [Damage: 40% Shields, 95% Hull]
    2 Bulk Freighters

Varanii turns in his chair all batteries concentrate on corvette, attempt to disable if you can if not vape it.

The forward Turbolasers opened up into a concentrated barrage on the Corvette aiming for any fluctuations in its shield grid.
The laser cannons tracked in on the Yt and opened fire accordingly

Get these two out of action then the others are practically helpless....Varanii thought his command was still in relatively good shape

Aboard the Strike Cruiser, Spider's Web, Unknown Regions

As his two lightsaber blades passed through his foe, Jean was taken by suprise to see his opponent disapear very similar to the way he himself could blend in with his surroundings. Lucifer could be anywhere, waiting to strike Jean down unknowingly. It was the only thing that allowed him to prepare for what had yet to come. Behind Jean, standing tall, with a murderous gaze and devilish smile, the Deceiver swung a long scythe toward Jean's neck, fully intent on decpatitating the Grand Inquisitor. Moving on instinct, the Sith Lord spun around just intime to see the scythe bearing down on his head. Even as the blade came at him, Jean wondered from where it appeared, for it seemed to materialise out of thin air. Obviously, there was some great and mysterious power at work here, other than what he knew as the Force. Perhaps something darker. With the flames burning around him from the hallway, Lucifer became the most menacing figure that Jean had ever seen in his life. This figure alone held more power in his mind than Jean thought was humanly possible.

Then again, what was to say that this Lucifer was human at all, other than his apperance? There had to be some more meaning to his title of Fallen Angel than Jean was let on to know about. In the back of his mind, old thoughts about Iaius and his claims to being a god began to rear their ugly head. All these appearances of Angels and Fallen Angels made him begin to believe there was a high power in this galaxy than other that of The Force. Blasphemy, he said to himself as he cleared his head back to focus on this fight. Thoughts like this would have to wait untill after Jean's life was not in jeopardy. Jean tried to dodge the incomming scythe as best as he could after his slow reflexes. The scythe made contact with Jean's cloak, as it tore a small slash in it as the Sith escaped the would be killing blow. Swinging with his right arm, the Sith swung his saber to try and sweep the would be scythe away from Lucifer's control.

Varanii: Salutations. I'm in charge of this thread, as the Faction Head of the Empire. You've undoubtedly been hit by rules from all the other senior members of this thread, but there are some I'd like to impart on you.

Firstly, please refrain from using colored text in your post. This is the perogative of BoP GMs and sub-GMs only, so as to make important information easily visible for all players. It's misleading and dangerous when normal players use colors in their posts, so we discourage this sort of thing.

Secondly, it seems you're at a loss at how we play this game. To that end, I suggest reading the first post of the main IBoP thread which contains basic information on how the game is played throughout any thread affiliated with the game. :)

Just pose a question in there or in the main thread if you want to know something. Generally it's better to ask before hand, just to be on the safe side of things.

    Name:Leiutenant Faykan Varanii
    Gender: Male
    Age:22
    Species: Human
    Division: Imperial Starfleet
    Force Sensitive: Yes (Limited)

Bio: Faykan Varanii has always been at the front of something, born to politically elite family on the influencial Tradeworld of Varan, which his father served as Governor and Viceroy.
He is the youngest of 11 children all of which carry on his families long tradition of service. For generations unnumbered the Varanii served the Republic, the founded their ancestral Homeworld of Varan as a colony of the Old Republic, they defended it as soldiers in its armies and fleets and a few were Jedi Knights, Some were great merchants, lawgivers, and scholars, a few were Senators, including Faykans great grandfather Murino Varanii, who represented over 40 Inner Rim Systems and supported Palpatine when he ascended to the Supreme Chancellorship.

As for him, he grew up in splendour with his mother who was always busy as a member of the Select Committee and his of course swamped father. He entered the Imperial Naval Academy at Carida at age 16 a full two years early, excelling in Fleet tactics and capital ship warfare he wasnt asked for tie training even though he graduated in the upper 1% of his academy class at 20 yrs of age. He was posted albiet temporarily to the Corvette Alsharif before it was nearly destroyed by pirates costing the ships captain his life and Faykan his left hand which of course replaced with a prostetic, Faykan left it with its Metal cover instead of artificial flesh to serve as a reminder to himself the price of failure even if the failure isnt your own.
This consideration for subordinates hasnt weakened him in the areas of discipline but it has made more popular with the deckmen who still call him sir, they see in him the next generation of Imperial Officer.

    Thok & DarkSide_Apprentice [Combine Post]

As deceptive and cunning as he was, the Demonic being grew frustrated, annoyed and tired with dueling his opponent. He had not fought anyone that could rival his own extraordinary, and indeed, inhuman power, since his defeat in the First Battle. And yet, now, as he faced the Grand Inquisitor, the Deceiver realised there was far more to his opponent than appeared. Jean was not at all normal. He may appear human, but having survived as long as he did proved otherwise.

If Jean was not human, then, what was he, exactly? It was a question that brushed the edge of the Deceiver's mind as he pulled backward, seeming to float more than step, in an effort to avoid Jean's counter attack.

Swinging with his right arm, the Sith swung his lightsaber cutting toward the scythe within the Devil's grasp. Sparks filled the corridor as the seeming blade of steel met the brighter lightsaber. The two struck with great force, an echo of their crossing carrying throughout the corridor and to its ends. They appeared evenly matched, but things were rarely as they appeared.

In an attempt to end his opponent's life, and rid himself of growing annoyance, the Deceiver shifted his footing, stepping sideward. He broke the weapons' lock and swung again with his scythe, this time from high above his right shoulder, coming down diagonally, seeking to slash his would-be victim.

Jean was becoming more focused now that he could feel a sensation of frustration eminating from the Deceiver. It gave him a sense of pride knowing a being such as himself could give the Deceiver such a hard time. Sparks filled the corridor as his lightsaber struck against the seeming blade of steel. Anyone that was not aware of what was happening in this cooridor on the ship would have had to been deaf, due to the almost deafening echo of their weapons clanging against each other.

His eyes remained focused on his target as he watched the Deceiver shift his weight to the side, and swing his mighty weapon above his head. Faster than the blink of an eye, the weapon sliced down towards Jean's neck in an attempt at a killing blow. Jean did not have time to raise his saber, but instead was forced to roll to his left, banking on the momemtum of his opponent's weapon to enable him to correct for the Sith's quick reflexes. He was still amazed at the sheer power his foe possessed, especially since he could not figure out as to where he drew the power from. Finishing his roll in a crouched position, Jean twisted his feet and extended his sword arm upright, trying to catch Lucifer on his open side.

In that moment, the figure seem to shimmer. Jean's target shifted slightly, with no apparent sign of movement. His target had not stepped or walked, or anything of the kind. The Deceiver was simply in one position for one moment and then in an entirely new position. It were as if time halted, then resumed, between which the Demon-like man had moved.

Smiling maliciously, the Deceiver took some amusement at his opponent missing an intended mark. "Surely you can do better," the Devil taunted, as he held his scythe up over his right shoulder again, in some strange upper guard, waiting for the precise moment to strike.

"I was going to ask the same of you," snarled the Sith as he started to weigh out his options. The only possible idea that came to his head seemed more impossible than anything else, and would take time to calibrate. For all he knew, it would be impossible to predict where the Deceiver would "teleport" to after Jean's next attack, but it was all that he could hope for.

Holstering one of his lightsabers, Jean began his plan of attack. Cloaking himself for only what appeared to be an instant but in all reality was not, Jean appeared to have had teleported a few feet to the side of where he originally stood, with only one of his lightsabers in his posession. Swinging his saber into position in the hands of his image and Force projection, the Sith planted himself firmly, waiting for the Deceiver to

    Varan System

Lieutenant Varanii thought his command was still in relatively good shape as he watched the forward batteries continue to bombard the Corvette and try to hit the YT-1300, that is until the entire ship lurched and he and his crew were thrown forward from wherever they had stood. Yelling for a damage report, he learned that the Bulk Freighters had rammed into the rear of his ship. Normally collisions would not cause serious damage to a shielded vessel, except this collision was not a normal one.

Damage control was able to give him their best guess on what had happened; "Our rear shield generators are down and there are power fluctuations in the engines! Hull damage in the rear compartments are mild to moderate. The freighters must have been packed with heavy explosives when they rammed us!"

The Action VI Transport and the freighters escorts began attacking the aft gun emplacements, taking them out of commission before the transport launched a small troop craft. The YT-1300 altered its course and headed straight for the rear of the Frigate, obviously to join in the boarding. The Corellian Corvette began to pull away from the battle now that there was nothing the Imperials could do to prevent the pirates from boarding.

Starfighter numbers were virtually almost gone on both sides.

    Imperial Forces
1 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate [Damage: 40% Shields (rear disabled), 75% Hull]

Unknown Regions - Onboard the Spider's Web

Jean still had other business to attend here on this ship, even though he came to his own conlcusion that he would learn little else that he already knew from first hand experience. Yet, after much searching, he infact could not find the ever elusive Madam Director. Perhaps his comming here was never infact even aware to her, let alone her planning. Now aware that Lucifer was present on the Spider's Web, he came to the conclusion that Lucifer had perhaps arranged it himself to have Jean arrive here. Nonetheless, Madam Isard was nowhere to be found. But another presence was still lingering that he had felt since his arrival here. It seemed strange that Field Marshal Veers' was currently this far away from Imperial Center on this ship, let alone still on this ship during the fight that had insued. Perhaps now was the time to go check in on Veers as he had planned on before todays events had occurred. Quickly, Jean made his wasy towards the strong presence the field marshal was giving off, somewhere in the direction of the ship's Brig. Strangely, a royal guardsman was currently en route to the same location Veers' presence was eminating from. Knowing he had plenty of times before kept hidden from Praetorians in the past, Jean kept himself close by, but cloaked from the Guards view at all times. For some reason, Veers was in the Brig. Interesting

This is a combine post between the Empress and I. Please pay attention to what we like to call 'character development without violence or evil plotting.'

Kiera Callaghan Jello and Lucrecia Giovanni Duflin

    Palace Gardens, Coruscant

It was the strangest thing--now that Lucrecia was actually a part of her family, Kiera somehow saw her friend less than she had before the wedding. Her cousin and his new wife spent most of their free time together, and while she could hardly fault them for this, she determined that she would invite Lucrecia to tea one afternoon for a ladies' luncheon.

Lucrecia was only too happy to see Kiera, to hear from her and to learn of her friend's invitation to have lunch within the Palace. She accepted the invitation and changed, dressing semi-formal for the occassion. Her trip to the Palace was relatively short and spent with her mind on the day ahead. Lucrecia felt a growing sense of joy within her, a sense she knew came from the chance to spend some time with one of her best friends.

As she entered the Palace and received an escort to the inner areas of the magnificent home and government office, she felt a small sense of guilt. That sensation remained with her, first lingering at the back of her mind, but growing more so. Lucrecia supressed it with an effort, and followed the escort as he led the way through intrcately gold-silver plated double doors, into a waiting room.

"Kiera, I'm so glad you called," Lucrecia said cheerfully. "It seems like so long since we last saw one another."

"It's been a little while," Kiera agreed, embracing her friend, "But it's perfectly understandable, Lucrecia. Please do not worry about it. How are you? Is my cousin giving you much trouble?"

Her cheeks warmed at Kiera's show of understanding, partially due to Lucrecia's own commitments over recent weeks. It was largely her doing, or as it seemed, lack of doing, that they had been out of touch. She smiled warmly and with gratitude for her friend's valued empathy. "We have both been very well. Happy," Lucrecia assured, as her smile grew, embracing Kiera briefly. "Randal is the perfect gentleman. He's been kind and dedicated as a husband, making time for us to spend together even with so many duties to attend to."

"You've truly brought out a different side in him," Kiera observed wonderingly. "Before he met you, he was always immersed in his work. The children were the only way to get him over here for a visit! I'm glad to see that's changed."

The two friends wandered out into the gardens, where a table was set up for tea. The linens were a festive summertime pink and a vase of large, bright blooms provided decoration.

"I must admit," Lucrecia said slowly, "I silently hoped we would be spending some time out here." She indicated the gardens with a gesture, and turned in a slow circle, as she admired her beautiful surroundings. "It's quite unlike spending time in the lab, or on one of Randal's ships, not that I mind those ..."

Her words trailed off as she smelt the blossoming flowers and scent that only a natural garden presented. "This is just ... different," she decided, feeling almost like a child again. "More serene, peaceful. Homely." She turned back to Kiera as she said those words, and stepped toward the small table, which had been set up for tea. Lucrecia waited for Kiera to sit down, and followed shortly thereafter. "They're beautiful," she added, indicating the Empress' decorative blooms.

"I thought you might like them," Kiera said with a smile. "They are Arya's favorites ... she actually helped me pick them out. We are very lucky to have these gardens. We walk through them often--it's a perfect venue for gathering one's thoughts. Of course, you are welcome at any time. I should tell Randal to bring you for a stroll one of these days."

The Empress gently picked up the teapot and filled Lucrecia's cup, and then her own, with the steamy, fragrant herbal concoction.

"Thank you," Lucrecia said, her words soft, as Kiera poured tw

    Orbital Starship Dock, Yaga Minor

TIE starfighters. TIE Interceptors. TIE Bombers. Fighters. Interceptors. Bombers. Twin Ion Engines. Was there ever going to be an end? Since coming to Yaga Minor, Cornelius 'Cor' Linka had been conducting repairs and, at times, modifications or upgrades, to nothing but standard Imperial starfighters. Granted, he was one of the best starship mechanics on the Dock.

As he settled in for lunch, eating beside a few of his fellow mechanics and technicians, he overheard talk of some workers being reassigned. Rumour had it that there would be a chance to move to some capital ships, in a supervisory role. There were certainly enough new warships having been built that would need trained and experienced mechanics. It may be the perfect opportunity for someone who wanted to work away from starfighters alone.

Finally, a break. Cor always wanted to work on a huge capital ship. That would show them what a craftsman he was. He had to find out more about these openings. If they were happening now, then he had to get in on it.

"Linka," someone called from across the mess hall. "Linka! Get your butt in here son, you're being reassigned." It was Cor's supervisor, an aging man they knew as the 'Chief'. No one born in the last twenty years had been around when the man earned that title, though rumour had it that their supervisor was ex-Navy.

When Veers heard the door open again, the light from outside bathing the cell, chasing the darkness away, and he heard the guard step inside to pick up the empty water bowl, he struck. The Field Marshal rolled back over, his arm outstreching toward the guard as a long, ebony and leather belt flung out for the man's head--the heavy, steel buckle at the receiving end.

It struck the man's forehead, and he growled with pain, annoyance and anger, as he reached for his forehead, dazed. He stepped back slowly, moving back outside the cell, only to bump into the entrance's right side, stumbling. The guard swore, almost wishing he had brought a weapon despite his orders.

Layor's walk took him toward the cell of Field Marshal Veers, the man he knew had been held captive. As he drew ever nearer to that very location, the Royal Guardsman noticed a guard entering the room, and heard a grow-like noise. Moments later, the guard seemed to stumble on his way back outside. Something was very wrong with the whole scenario.

Not too far off, coming down from the opposite side of the very same corridor, Jean noticed a Royal Guardsman approaching Veers' cell. Fortunately, Jean had cloaked his presence and managed to disguise his approach. As he looked ahead and noticed the man stumbling at the door to Veers' cell, something else caught his attention.

It was unmistakable, but perhaps not unusual given the ship he was on. The Grand Inquisitor noticed a black lining at the very bottom of the Guard's cloak-like uniform. It was a sign of the man's direct service to Imperial Intelligence, and, indeed Ysanne Isard, something that was not common, even among vessels and installations controlled by Intel.

Some time ago before Veers's capture...

At first it had been nothing extremely important, it was just more communications static that space created or so everyone had thought. When the same communications anamoly occured again one week later and again the next week at the same time as the previous, Captain Tial knew that the ship was receiving transmissions from somewhere. Immediately he reported this to Admiral Plasivic who then gave instructions for Starfleet Intelligence to figure out what the heck it was they were receiving.

After the fourth week of receiving the mysterious transmission, the analysts were finally able to figure out what exactly they were getting. "It is probe data from a probot in a system that is not in our databanks but located not far off of the Hydian Way trade route. In fact it's near Obroa-skai."

"Have you been able to decipher the data?" Tial inquired as he stood over the starchart which the analyst had shown him where exactly the system was located.

"Not yet. The data is heavily encrypted by an unknown code. We figure that since this ship use to belong to the late-General Thane and that this probot has been transmitting weekly for over several months, that we might find the code inside one of the surviving computer cores."

"What are you waiting for then?"

    "Right away, sir."

    Present day

After months of sifting through the damaged computer core's data they analysts were finally able to discover a copy of the encrypt that encoded the transmissions. Soon after the data hidden away in the transmissions were finally revealed and the revelation was a shocking one. Immediately High Command and the Emperor were informed of what the crew of the Corusca had discovered.

The planetary system which the probot called Myrkr, was a hornets nest of Imperial activity. Minefields littered the surrounding space and warships patrolled the system, looking for intruders and trouble makers. What else was intriguing were the freighters and smaller vessels coming and going from the surface of the planet. Why such an insignificant world had so much attention from these Imperials was beyond the crew of the Corusca but it was not beyond the Emperor or General Dyer.

Realizing the significance of the discover, General Dyer immediately gave instructions for the investigation to be closed off and classified under his authority so as to prevent leakage to those who would find such information interesting. The next thing he did was give new instructions to the probot from the Corusca, using the Sapphire encrypt that Thane had used to encrypt the machine's transmissions.

The probot now had instructions to gather tactical data of the system without revealing its location. It was to transmit that information every two weeks instead of every week or when inquired by the Corusca. The next task he did was to seek permission from the Emperor to use the Corusca as the command ship leading the spearhead to Myrkr. The final task was assigning a new commander to that spearhead.

"Lysander Martz," General Dyer called as the young naval Captain entered his office. "I know you have been waiting to depart for your knew command and continue the search for our Supreme Commander," he continued. "However, I have a far graver mission for you that although may not directly lead you to the Supreme Commander, it will hurt those who are holding him."

The General handed the Captain a black box that held within a higher rank badge than the one Martz currently wore. "I am promoting you to the rank of Commodore and giving you a temporary command of the Super-class Star Destroyer Corusca. You will take this ship and your task force to the Myrkr system, from there you will access the collected data from a probot hidden within the s

"I will be asking the questions, Captain," Varioun replied. "If you are protecting this system then praytell explain why New Republic ships are allowed to remain here unharassed?" Varioun's ship captain stepped over to one of the operators and glanced at the readout of the ship's name.

The Justice's Hand was unfamiliar to him so he had the name ran through the computer core for who commanded her, where she was last stationed, her last mission, and where and when she was seen last.

Reasley gripped his blaster rifle tightly before motioning for his partner to come with him. He gestured out the plan to Arison and then motioned to execute it. Arison leapt out from around the corner and ran, making it obvious that he was there. While the two droids tracked him, Reasley peeked around the corner with his rifle, aimed and fired off two shots for the heads of the two droids, bringing them both down in seconds.

With the two droids out of the way, Reasley and Arison worked to disable the tractor beam, planting charges for remote detonation as they did so. Trained as they were, it was not at all a difficult task. And, before long, the commando pair was headed for the hanger.

They cautiously made their way towards the hanger and whenever they could, they took to the ventaliation shafts to travel in secret. They would not enter the hanger immediately, instead they would attempt to gather as much information as possible as to the enemy strength within. It would do neither them any good if they rushed in to find a hornets nest of droids surrounding their ship.

Meanwhile, Heinz handed six ion grenades to Mitth, who loaded them into a grenade launcher. "Ready the smoke grenades and save the last ion grenades for when we're inside the powerhouse," he told Heinz as he carefully leaned around the corner, aimed his weapon and lobbed an ion grenade at the nearest cluster of droidfighters and other droids before sending a second grenade further down the chamber, followed by a third and fourth until all six had covered a large area of the chamber.

Dozens of battledroids were disabled, some falling and others jerking awkwardly before they stopped abruptly, traces of electronic interference and static flashing within them, indicating damaged circuitry. Several droid starfighters and droidekas were also effected, some more so than others.

Those droids that remained, most located further down the chamber, closer to the reactor powerhouse itself, were well-aware of the intruders. They all turned in unison and opened fire, filling the entire corridor with heated laser-fire, creating a virtual screen of death for any that dared enter their domain.

"Well, they know we're here now," muttered Mitth as he reloaded his grenade launcher with the remaining ion grenades. The sound of incoming blasterfire was almost deafening to the ears if they had not worn helmets to drown out most of the noise. "If they keep this up they'll run out of ammunition and make it easier for us to get in and destroy them."

"We can't just sit here and wait though," Heinz pointed out. "Reinforcements are no doubt on their way."

"Agreed." Mitth peered around the corner to see down the corridor. "Stay low and to the sides. They are mostly firing down the center. Get ready to toss some frags when I'm done with the ions."

"Yes, sir," Heinz said. If there was any nervousness in either of the men's voices, it did not show as they spoke or moved. Heinz tossed a few smoke grenades down the corridor before he dashed across toward the otherside before diving to a prone position. Meanwhile Mitth flattened himself against the floor and up against the wall of the corridor. Both commandos began crawling their way down the corridor. The smoke screen obscured the enemies visual view of the corri

    IC: Commodore Lysander Martz

General Dyer's office, Imperial High Command, Imperial Center

Newly minted Commodore Lysander Martz finished his meeting with General Dyer before heading back to his Imperial City apartment to pack some things. It felt good to be getting back into action after such a long period of inactivity. It felt even better knowing that his actions could very well help in the Empire's efforts to find and rescue Field Marshal Veers. Grabbing a duffle, the Garqi native grabbed several clean shirts and undergarments, as well as three additional uniforms. Walking over to a small desk, he withdrew his personal sidearm, a DH-17 blaster pistol. After packing all the items that he woudl require for such a long journey, Martz took a seat by the large window in his living room. Gazing at the endless stream of traffic, the officer thought of another old friend and mentor- Commander Nigel Sloan. The man had always looked out for Martz, and had handpicked him to serve as his XO on the VicStar Vendetta. Yet, the Vendetta and Sloan were no more. Their remains floated in the Outer Rim, victim of a attack by the Yuuzhan Vong.

He had already lost one close friend and mentor. He had no intention of losing another. If this mission to Myrkr helped uncover clues to Veers whereabouts, it would bring the Empire and Martz one step closer to finding their Supreme Commander. Glancing at his wristchrono, he waited for the Fleet speeder to arrive and take him to Westport.

Several hours later, Imperial Center orbit

It was the ultimate symbol of the Empire's might. Bristling with weaponary and over one hundred fighters, the deadly arrowhead was amongst the most feared and lethal warships in the galaxy.

    A Super Star Destroyer.

The massive warship outgunned any single warship in the galaxies navies, save for the Emperor's own Eternal Blade, a Eclipse-class Star Destroyer. It was named Corusca, in honor of the glittering world below her. The Corusca was one of the finest crewed war vessels in the Imperial Navy. She was selected by General Dyer to serve as the flagship for the mission. Clustered around her were ten smaller warships, ranging from the Imperial-I class Star Destroyer Leviathan to smaller Lancer frigates and patrol craft. This mighty armada would serve as as the means of teaching those who would dare harm the Empire's top military officer that such actions would not be tolerated.

A few more hours past as Commodore Martz got settled in on his new command. After meeting with the various captains of the warships in his armada, Martz explained the mission and his course of action. It was somewhat difficult given the fact that Intelligence had no idea of how many warships would be found at Myrkr. Furthermore, the task of actually capturing some of these vessels so that their computer cores could be studied was also difficult. The plan of action that was decided was simple.

All that remained was for one last transmission from the hidden probe. Once it gave further details on the disposition of the Myrkr defenses and plotted a suitable course inwards, the attack could begin. Until then, the fleet would move to Obroa-skai and await and information from the probe.

    Unknown Regions

Were he at least ten years younger, he may have been amused at the display. Veers' show of defiance in the face of a superior combatant was admirable. Foolish, but admirable nonetheless. Draug Layor did not break stride, continuing down the corridor at his measured pace, his eyes intent on the Field Marshal as the man fled his cell.

Dressed as he was, he did not wish to run or otherwise engage in a tiring and wasteful game of predator and prey. Layor simply spoke into his headset, calling for all doors within the cell block to be locked down, blastdoors inclusive.

It would be far easier to speak with the Field Marshal once the man realised he had no hope of escape. Layor only hoped that it would not take the man very long to come to that realisation.

    Grand Inquisitor Jean LeBlanc

Unknown Regions, Onboard the Spider's Web

From the looks of his starved body and tattered clothing, Veers had spent all of his time since his disapearance here onboard the Web. It was almost disturbing to see him in the condition he was currently in, for Jean had always held the Field Marshal in high regard even though the Marshal had no trust in Jean or any of his affiliations. As it were, it seemed yet again the Field Marshal was being confronted with another being with loyalty to Intelligence. It was interesting to Jean to see such a situation to unfold infront of him. Though it seemed against his most visible loyalties, he indeed was hoping to see Veers come out on top, mainly because he would hate to see him be locked up for the rest of time. A man such as him was better to have running things from his desk than rotting up behind bars.

Eyeing the situation, and perhaps wanting to even the odds a bit, Jean turned his attention towards the open cell containing what appeared to be a dead guard. Possibly wanting to draw attention away from Veers for a moment, Jean made motion with his right hand to close the cell door with the power of the force. He made no attempt to muffle the sound the door made as it slammed into its place, alerting to both of the other men in the cooridor. Yet still, Jean remained cloaked from Sight. He most certainly wanted to see how this would turn out.

    [i]Super Star-Destroyer Night Hammer, Abregeado-Rae[/i]

[blockquote]Hundreds, Thousands, Millions. Dead. Initial reports fled back to the fleet at the almost complete devistation of Abregeado-Rae's populous. Deep inside, Devon knew that these people were casualties of war, and it was an inevitable part of any major galactic conflict. Such acts however, could not be toerated, especially when the culprits were nothing more than a second rate species from the center of the galaxy. Over the past hour, Admiral Devon LeMond had given his first hand report to his superior via military encryption. The news did not sit well with Grand Admiral Duflin, for another enemy attacking the Empire was something that was not needed. Randal gave his Admiral orders to stay in orbit and tend to the surviors untill further notice, for he would have to have word with the Emperor before any new course of action could be taken. Closing the message with his subordinate, Randal activated his direct line to Iaius' office elsewhere inside the Imperial Centre. He was not looking forward to bringing the sad news to his friend. Another crisis for him to deal with would only put more strain on his peronal health than he already needed to deal with. He waited for a response with a inner feeling of sorrow for those whom had lost their lives.[/blockquote]
