O.C, CA Galactic Playground Lightsaber battle

Excellent, will keep an eye open for the it.

If I had a sith costume i could be a sith but mine wont be ready until next year cos i'm aiming to have it done for C-IV, even then it'll be a kilted sith costume.

I'm going to have to improvise a sci fi costume just to man the booth.

 

I will make an announcement to the Wednesday class and ask for victims...er...volunteers.

 

Umm.. I went through this entire thread, and there's no location or general vicinity of where it is.

And being in October I'll pull my chips in for both days.

Would anybody like to help me with my costumer? I'm going to go as my avatar; "Darth snuggles" with oriental dark blue robes, and I'm looking to borrow a red saber.

I think it'd be a great Youtube flick to be owned by the cutest and freshest smelling sith lord in the galaxy.


Aboutasith, we should all set up a sunday (or any other) prior to the event to lock in some choreo routines, so this way we don't look like idiots or have people asking why the fights were so short because we free-styled it.

Well, at the last realy for life, I did Dark Side/Sith with just my grey robes, and the year before I did Jedi with the same robes, so I guess I can do either side that needs more fighters at the time of. As for Jedi/Sith names, my jedi name is Mathu Tilard (creative, uh?) My sith name is Darth Tempius, though I may change it to Exar Tempius, just to be different. And I can do both days as of now.

I spoke with Smudge earlier today. Combat will be the same as we did for Relay for Life. Wounds do not count. Only kills in the main chest/stomach area will count. No back or backside shots will count either. This will make combat a little longer.

Not that I want to discourage you, but remember that your vision will be greatly diminished by having a big bear mask on your head. Ask anybody in the 501st. Those guys have fairly big eye pieces and they still need people to escort them from time to time. I would think doing sword combat in such a costume would be even more difficult.

With that said, it definitely would be interesting to see a giant bear fighting with a lightsaber.

As for the battle, i'll leave that to the OCSA to choreo. I'll tell anybody that's interested in joining in the battle that they need to come in here and get with the OCSA, we dont want some random person running in a braining everyone.

oh yea how does admission work? if we are working the table do we pay to get in?

 

I'll find out, my guess is i think i get 4 passes cos only 4 can work the table at any given time.

Just found out that I have an important meeting for Church that I can't miss on Saturday morning, Oct. 7, but I will be
free by 1:15pm and will get there as soon as I can. The lightsaber battle is in the evening, so I should get there around
3:00pm. I hope that will not be a problem?

I managed to conjure up a cheapo costume! Got an Alien one for $20, that'll do until i start/finish my proper SW themed costume.

 

I'd like to be a "fighter" as well.

I'll do sith if there are too many colorfully jedi.
