Another female companion would be OK, as long as she's not a carbon copy of Rose. Just a new personality would be lovely. And preferably someone with fewer relations, so they come back to Earth less often :p

I wholeheartedly agree, I loved Rose and her mum, but I would like to see more adventures on alien planets! Not to mention if we are having a new companion, let it be someone completely different in personality and termperament to shake things up a bit.

yeah, it'll be nice to have a change and i think it'll be interesting to see how the doctor
feels about having someone thats completely different.

any word yet on who's playing the new companion?

    New companion revealed.

But more important than that...the last episode. Just watched it, and...wow. FANtastic! Really emotional, too, in a way I can't really describe. Something more than just feeling a bit upset because a character's leaving the show. But still, a great sendoff. The very end was a little weird, though, but managed to offset the gloom and doom well.

    Can't wait 'til Christmas!

"What?" being the ideal word :p

It's certainly set up something good for the Christmas special. IMO this was a great episode - nice send-off for Rose. The little snippet about Bad Wolf Beach made me smile.

I think they've exhausted the Daleks for the moment though. Now the Tenth Doctor's good and settled in, maybe we can visit a few alien planets and coincidentally meet another race hell-bent on destroying humanity and ruling the wreckage . . .

It's less than an hour since it finished and I'm already waiting for the next series :_|

Definately another Who fan here (http://drwho.khallandra.net [/spam]). I'm looking forward to how they are going to introduce the new companion - I hope it is something completely different to the way Rose was introduced.

Doomsday was so sad - though I thought the ending was great - here the Doctor is - very emotional and some bride is yelling at him - brilliant!

*fingers crossed* for another one of those charity episodes but I doubt it :(

I'm also looking forward to Torchwood - shall be interesting, I hope it gets the full 13 episodes and not the usual 5-6 that new series get in Britian.

Doomsday was OK. An OK finale for a pretty mediocre series. I think I prefer Tennant as the Doctor, but Series 2 was nowhere near as good as Series 1. Let's hope Martha Jones (crappy name, I must say) brings something fresh to the show!

As for Torchwood, yes, it will be getting the full 13 episodes.

Doctor Who is awesome! I totally wasn't into it until my friend showed me some of the new episodes and now I'm completely hooked! Next to 4400, this is the best Sci-Fi show in recent years!

Although, I'm curious, why is a season/series only like 13 episodes in the UK, when it's normally twice that in the states?

Man, oh man! YouTube has pulled through with a few episodes of the Tenth Doctor, and I know that I like him.

I'm in Canada, with a sparse number of channels, and so I have had to wait almost eight months for series number two. I know how Rose leaves, I know of most major plot twists already, but I still want to watch the series and get the DVDs. Insane. My favourite show at the moment.

Oh, and Series 2 has finally been slated in CBC's fall line-up. w00ts!

Most of them, yes. But I did get a look at the Cyebrmen, and the Army of Ghosts. Cool stuff.

I've also only been a Doctor Who fan for just under a year, so my obsession hasn't waned.

I know how that is, I'm in Canada as well. I seriously cannot wait for Ocotber, when they finally get around to showing Series Two. [face_love]

From of the episodes that I've seen on YouTube, I can say that I absolutely love Tennant as the Doctor.

Does anyone from Canada know if CBC is going to be doing a repeat of the Ninth Doctor season?

It is a shame this hasn't been posted on in 6 weeks.

I'm glad to see this thread up. I've been diggin the doctor, but not in a crush way. The only gripe i have about this season is that it doesn't appear to be as connected as season one.

I've been watching torchwood, the doctor who spinoff airing in the uk that stars Ajck. If you can get a hold of it, i would watch it.

I don't mind it not being connected much, because I have a tendency to miss episodes. Besides, I've already been sucked into Heroes, and one serial series a season is enough for me.

    I haven't watched it yet.

Hey..if anyone has BBC America, they are showing the first season of Dr.who right now. Tuesday's episode will be when he meets Rose.

    Hi all

Wanted to drop by since it the past few months my husband and I have gotten to be huge fans of the new series. We watch it on Sci-Fi every Friday night and can't wait for to see Torchwood.

Odds are the states aren't going to see Torchwood unless it's heavily edited.

And nothing about the US airing of the final Rose episode?I really liked it, and my nerd crush on Tennant got bigger after the episode.

BTW, for us in the states, Runaway bride is on Google video. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm weak, I couldn't wait until June to see it.

Yeah, Torchwood will never get shown in the US without edit.

After your silly Americans censors get their hands on it, it would be 15 minutes long.

I find that incredibly funny, that Americans tend to make jokes about British pornography being boring (see Family Guy), yet American TV won't even show anyone saying the F word! I remember on the Graham Norton show, an American actor (I think it might have been Dustin Hoffman?) couldn't believe what was being said, and he kept on saying "Can you say that on TV?". Americans won't allow anything on TV that could offend children, where as here in the UK we actually have the common sense to control what younger viewers watch. Americans just expect the TV to raise their children.

    Americans are funny.

Anyway, as for Doctor Who, I thought the Runaway Bride was great. Catherine Tate was a bit annoying at the start, but I liked her by the end. I thought the sneak preview of Series 3 at the end was a bit disappointing though, nowhere near as good as last years preview.

The Sun is reporting today that DT will leave half way through Series 4, and they want Robert Carlyle to take over. I think Carlyle would be good, but I don't want Tennant to leave yet, he's become one of my favourite Doctors. Admittedly, I do like the idea of a mid-season regeneration, as it's been a while since that last happened (Davison-C.Baker), but I hope it's half way through series 5 at the earliest.

No!!! :_|I mean, I know the Doctors are never around for very long, but still. I'm very attached to Tennant.

Hey Guff..do you know if there is a place to download the Dr. Who confidentials? BBC site didn't have them. But, I did download the Daleks saying "exterminate".

The BBC is denying that rumor (or should I say rumour?).
