Huh, maybe this is why Game of Thrones never really tears it up at the Emmys, nobody in the Hollywood Hierarchy Watches It!

 

Finally got around to watching... first two series so far. I like it. It's like real life; anyone with a shred of decency or honour gets ****ed over and hung out to dry.

So, in case y'all didn't notice, amongst the boatload of Emmys that Game of Thrones was nominated for, it's two episodes for Best Direction were "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" (Sansa Wedding Nite) and "Mother's Mercy" (Season 5 finale). Now I didn't despise those episodes, the finale I thought was a really cool series of cliffhangers / setups for Season 6 ending with the big Jon Snow moment, but if they were gonna nominate two eps, or hell even nominated 1 episode, how the heck did "Hardhome" not end up being the one nominated? Was it too awesome action-y to be nominated for a Very Serious Emmy? Those last 20 minutes, holy kolker!

It's unofficially official.

The President of HBO has let it be known what the show runners plan on doing but they haven't come out and said "this is what we're doing."

So no…..not official. All but official, but not official.

Hope that clears it right up.

 

Well, HBO can't make the showrunners and actors extend their contracts if they really, really don't want to have dumptrucks of money left on their front lawns. And because the show makes HBO a container ship of money, HBO execs have always been predictably far more enthusiastic than their employees for more than 7 seasons/movie/prequel/etc.

 

The one thing that might stop a 8th season might just be the source material.
