someone wins the iron throne. dany probably but it doesn't matter. the white walkers are dead i guess and arya and her wolf have murdered all the people on her murder list and she has peaced back to winterfell to rule the north with her sister. her brother is a tree. she has another brother but he is a pretty minor character so he stays away out of respect. anyway, all the great lords and ladies of the seven kingdoms come to king's landing to honor the new queen. there is a huge feast. hot pie bakes a thousand pies for the feast and just straight up poisons everyone. thus ends the feudal monarchy of westeros, forever after known as "the democratic socialist republic of hot pie".

it's not fanfic, because this isn't a fanfic thread, but it's really, really good. It's what anyone should want to happen.

I always viewed the show as a companion to the books.

At least until Season 5 and the show went completely off the rails....

so if the Wall comes down, what does the (surviving) Night's Watch do then? do they dedicate their lives to chasing after the White Walkers? Or if there's no wall, there's no vow.

    Second the wall comes down
"Hey, our vows are broken, there's no wall, we can go home!"

So long as "Don't Stop Believing" plays at the same time.

I assume it is implied that some random guy we've never seen before offs Dany and resurrected Jon?

Right. 19 episodes away from the end of the series. It's time either to introduce a pivotal new character or a previously unmentioned city state that will help determine the fate of the world, or to evoke some previously unused magical power that will change the outcome of a decisive battle. Onward and upward

The post script from D&D will read: "We know y'all hate this, but when GRRM ends the books the same way, you'll be forced to love it!"

So boring and dull then. And hypocritical. We are on a Star Wars forum after all!

I mean look no further for Hollywood's Sewage!

What do you mean "well rounded life?"
I don't think a two hour film is going to "fill you with rubbish". And if you think that, then you are insane.

If you can't step away and have fun in watching people fool around in costumes and pretend they have powers, then what can you do? It must be pretty dull in your world.

What does he do for fun? What sort of entertainment is he consuming?

*Sorry this is not directly to you Rylo Ken more to Super Watto.

According to Huffington Post, the first 5 seasons of Game of Thrones contain a combined 6 minutes and 40 seconds of people fooling around both in and out of costumes.

If you have fun watching people fool around, there are so many more efficient ways to do it than watching Game of Thrones.

VadersLaMent what I read is that they did something along the lines of what they did with Cersei's walk of shame and used her head on another woman's body.

I'm starting to just look at the show as an AU version of the story, with some similarities. I don't hate it, there are some good parts. But most of the characters are better in the books, especially in Dorne.

I meant the Marvel films. Read the post!

Guess that threads been merged now.

And they still fool around in character. "You're a greedy *****".

*And Man of Steel was dull, it was painful and just dragged. No Batman vs Superman spoilers.

The characters in Dorne have a better plot in the books. I believe the GoT directors are just trying to hurry things along without as much character development, at this point. It is a good show, though.

I agree with you for the most part...but there are a few notable exceptions.
Personally I find Sansa, Brienne, Bronn, and Tyrion better on the show than in the books....but I arttribute that more to their actors than to the writing. (Speaking of which, I'm I the first quarter of 'Storm of Swords'....please tell me that Sansa b comes less insufferable. Part of me cringes at her chapters....first she's fearing for her life because she's a captive of Mad Joffrey, then she heel-face-turns and starts on how Loras gives her butterflies, then she whiplashes back to being paranoid about Joffrey again. Needless to say, HBO and Sophie Turner really did a salvage job)

sansa's story in the books is so heartbreaking and i find her to be one of the most realistic and compelling characters. you have to remember she's only 11 years old at the beginning of the story and when we last leave her at the end of a feast for crows she is still only 13. she is just always in way over her head and trying to make the most of impossible situations, using her very limited skills, which basically boils down to her intelligence and her manners and courtesy. she is my favorite character. and yes, she does show a lot of growth in the later books.

plus, unlike she who replaced her as Joff's betrothed, she is chaste and virtuous.

She is not virtuous. She was consistently cruel to her younger sister, who was and is morally superior. She was rebellious against her parents. I can certainly sympathize that she is in over her head. But she was an average person in bad circumstances, never a good one.

Sorry; I just meant that unlike her replacement as the bride-to-be for Joffrey she did not entertain entire platoons of household guard with her sex bits and her brother. She saved herself for marriage.

The only person Margaery has ever laid with is her lawfully wedded husband, Tommen. In the books, she is still a virgin.

Sansa is one of my favorite book characters, but I still go around wanting to smack her head when she's just plain stupid. That's what I like about her though, that she's not flawless but is written as a child trying to survive when she's in a game that's too complicated for her. She gets a lot of character growth tough, and unlike show!Sansa she isn't just beaten up and dependent on people around here. I loved the moment when she accepted Brienne's loyalty, if only she hadn't had to depend on Theon to get it right, book!Sansa would never have forgotten how to behave in situations like that.
