I read the summary, can't say it was very surprising.

That's one of the big problems with Martin taking so long with the books: it gives fans endless amounts of time to guess where things are going, so that there are almost no surprises any more.

So I just watched the leaked episode. And WOW.

Anyway, do we know how the White Walkers raise people from death? What kind of magic is that? Is anything ever mentioned in the books or is it still a complete mystery?

It's still a complete mystery, both for the White Walkers and the Lord of the Light followers.
And agree, it's an awesome episode.

 

Sorry, just had to share a bit how I felt about it. No spoilers, I promise. My question was not a spoiler though, cause we've seen White Walkers do that earlier in the show.

Yeah, I guess the next season might explain it or the books one day. I'm really curious about that.

That low, dull roar far off into the distance, the kind you can feel moreso than actually hear; that's the post-show discussions and reactions approaching to ride herd across social media and the internet at large.

 

Who says the White Walkers have been on the move since Hardhome and who says they haven't gone elsewhere? They've been biding their time for a thousand years, they are in no hurry at all.

 

didn't they stopped by the Three Eyed Raven's cave last season which was after Hardhome? looks like they were making multiple stops getting their ducks in a row since then.

 

Frakkin' HBO Spain. Not that I've come across any spoilers as of yet, but it's still a long way until Sunday night.

However, I've come across many theories about the Night King and such, so for me it's just a matter of seeing which of the theories become true.

As for the White Walkers not moving south and breaching the Wall, I got the impression they were waiting for the long winter to come. I mean, since episode one, it's been "Winter is coming." So, with that in mind, it was logical to think that the White Walkers were biding time until winter fell on the south so they could march/invade under their ideal conditions.

 

what are the whitewalkers waiting for ? Didn't they hear the dinner bell already ?

Anyone remember Dany's vision from the House of the Undying (Season 2)? She was in the Throne Room which was destroyed and covered in snow. So it looks like, to quote Davos, bad things are coming to KL.

 

isn't winter supposed to cover all of Westeros ?

 

Some people are now thinking it could be ash, based off the previous episode's battlefield and the destructed ceiling in the Throne Room. Either way, seems like KL is in trouble
