Thankfully I reread the series last yr sometime so Im good and July is only 3 months away....

How good is the book series? Would quite like to get immersed in a fantasy world once I finish writing my dissertation.

 

I have no idea, I never read the books though I always hear they are great. One person had maybe one negative thing to say about one or two of the books.

 

The books are well written, graphic, and intriguing. However, if you plan on reading them, plan on numerous bouts of depression, rage, and constant hopelessness. Sometimes it seems as though the author gets some sick pleasure out of ruthlessly tormenting characters and breaking any shred of optimism the reader futiley clings to.

 

Yeah, there is a certain event in book 3 that will leave you speechless. I can't wait to see that on screen, but I'll make sure to bring the tissues.

 

I'm definitely gonna read the books when i get a chance.

 

As I said in the OP I have only read GRR martin's Wild Cards books, he does not right all the stories, and they are quite graphic in their violence and sex also. The first few books are great, the middle batch are fair to bad, and the last few since its resurgence have been really good.

That was a good episode tonight. It went fairly close to that segemnt of the book from what I remember.

I was also flipping between the show and an NHL game. The blond. I could care less about her name. She married the warrior. She gets naked.

There could be an episode where they play that over and over again and I'd love it.

Poor Nymeria. I think that was one of the saddest scenes in the first book, even sadder than Ned's death, and it was done quite well in this episode.

But seriously, LOL at how badly Joffrey got pwned by little Arya.

And another LOL at how viciously Summer ripped apart Bran's attacker. The direwolves were done very well in this episode.

 

Yeah from them being hardly present in the first epi to seeing Summer and Nym was great. Where the hell was Ghost when Jon was going o the wall?

 

THIS GUY

Arrogance beyond reason, calling his subjects dogs, thinking th egirl is auto-his, all his scenes are well played/directed/written. Keep it in the right direction, he is not what I call a great villain(yet that I know of) just that it is a prime example of what can be well done in the world of acting.

Putting aside her wonderful nudity in each episode so far I am quite interested in the plot of Daenerys Targaryen. This appears to be a story of slave-to-power, I like it.

Sean bean is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood.

The ending shot of this episode is great.

 

I enjoyed the second episode much more. I hope they continue to improve. Also, I love wolves...
