OMG! I love this episode. Poor Lady - She didn;t need to die. Love that the Dire Wolves protect the kids. I haven't read the books but there is obviously a connection other than master/pet.

Oh and Daenerys becoming a woman and learning how to use her wiles.:p

Oh and I love that a litle person can have a respected role outside of playing in a costume (ala ewok, munch kin)

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Peter Dinklage gets multiple award nominations coming his way. Pending on work yet to come in the season of course. Still, he steals every scene he's in.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are producing a show starring Warwick Davis called "Life's Too Short" that's going to be a successor show to Extras and The Office. It'll be similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm, as it will basically be about Warwick Davis going about his daily life as a fictionalized version of himself and getting into various humorous situations.

    I'm very excited for it.

    calling his subjects dogs

Speaking of which, is it me or is The Hound not getting enough air-time? It's been a while since I read Game of Thrones, so I don't remember exactly how much he appeared in the early going, but I feel like he's getting the short shrift. He's easily my favorite secondary character, I hope he's not being glossed over too much.

    Amazing.

I'm doing a re-read right now and have at least gotten past the first episode's worth of content. He hasn't been mentioned at all in the text thus far.

IIRC, the Hound doesn't have much of a role in the first book. He saves Sansa from the mob at King's Landing, but I can't recall anything beyond that.

It's in the second and third books that he has a larger role, when he is assigned to Harrenhal, and later when he's escorting Arya around.

yea, pretty much. he's not particularly important at this point, but he should show up at least a few times.

He saves Sansa in the second book, and we see a lot more of their interaction. He wins the Hands tournament in the first book, and it's in the third book that he's wandering the countryside with Arya. Gregor's the one that takes Harrenhal in the second book

Reminder: the markups are: {hl=black} {/hl} . Use the dropdown formatting if it helps.

Another good episode. Really starting to get a feel for the series now.

Why were Daenerys' hands all scratched up though? That confused me a bit...

Just watched the first two episodes, they are quite good.

On a side note, the lannisters are a ****** up little family. [face_frustrated]

I'm not sold on Jaime yet, though he does have his moments of cool. But he's still ******* his sister. Tyrion on the other hand has my stamp of approval. He's the best thing to come out of the lannister loins.

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that the prince is really a lannister.

    Evil.

Although the Targaryens are pretty ****ed up too. In the novels, Dany is 13/14 years old, and the scene with Viserys feeling up his sister is described in detail. [face_sick]

Yep, all three of the "Baratheon" children are indeed abominations borne of the incest between Jaime and Cersei. This becomes a point of contention later in the novel when Ned discovers this fact. Since Robert has no true children, Joff is not next in line for the throne, but Robert's younger brother Stannis is. But I'll let you watch and find that out for yourself.

I know, I have read a bit of the first book. This show is going a long way towards convincing me to pick it up again. To be fair I was already considering it, but it has tipped the scale.

I was thinking that that too. All their little blond heads and the one that died had dark hair. I think she killed the baby in someway. I don't believe she wanted the Kings baby.
