Those are excellent points.
Then I believe the scattergories rules can stand as is.
Here's a first draft of Sorry!
The Objective: The objective is to be the first player to get both of his or her color pawns from his or her Start location to his or her Home space (NOTE: for later games, this may be pushed to three per player). The pawns are normally moved in a clockwise direction, but can be moved backward if directed. Movement of pawns is directed by the drawing of a card from a deck. Whenever the deck is empty, it will be reshuffled and play resumes.
The board game is laid out in a square with fifteen spaces per side, with each player assigned his or her own colored Start location and Home locations offset towards the center, one per side. Four five-square paths, one per color, lead from the common outer path towards a player's Home and are designated his or her "Safety Zone." On each side are two "Slides," grouping four or five spaces each.
The Rules: Each player chooses two/three pawns of one color and one player is selected to play first. The Host will randomly select which player will go first, and then fill out the rest of the playing order randomly.
Each player in turn draws one card from the stack and follows its instructions. To begin the game, all of a player's four pawns are restricted to Start; only a 1 or 2 card can release them to the rest of the board. Playing a 1 or a 2 places a pawn on the space directly outside of start; playing a 2 does not entitle the pawn to a second space.
A player can jump over any other pawn, landing on the square indicated by the card. However, two pawns cannot occupy the same square. A pawn that lands on a square occupied by another "bumps" that pawn back to its own Start. Players can not bump their own pawns back to Start. If the only way to complete a move would result in a player bumping himself, the pawns remain in place and the player loses his or her turn.
If a pawn lands at the start of a slide (except those of its own color) by direct movement or as the result of a switch with the 11 card, it immediately moves to the last square of the slide. All pawns anywhere on the slide are sent back to their respective Starts.
The last five squares before home are the "safety zone." Access is limited to those pawns of the same color. Pawns inside the zone are immune to being replaced by an opponent's pawn with an 11 or a Sorry! card. However, a pawn is vulnerable to being forcibly moved backward out of the safety zone. Forced backward moves can cause a pawn to exit the zone, and a pawn can enter home only upon exact count. For example, an 8 is unplayable when there are only 3 spaces remaining.
How the Game Will Be Run for the Forums: For this game, the Host will use this gameboard.
Each pawn on the playing field will be notated via a colored square on the board. For example, if the Red player moves out from START with a 2 and then draws a 1, the square after the Red Home spot will be colored in Red to notate the pawn being there.
In order to make this game easier, each spot on the board will have a coordinate. For the Red side of the game board, the coordinate R1 will be the furthest right at the beginning of the slide to the Red Start space (not counting corner spots, because those are in multiple sides at once, and are notated as Red Corner or Green Corner, etc. depending on the color present in that square on the board) and go to R13 at the far left. Blue 1 will be the slide to the Blue Home, and will go until Blue 13. Yellow 1 will start at the slide to the Yellow Start, and go to Yellow 13 on the right side of the game board. Lastly, the Green 1 spot will be at the start of the slide to the Green Start. This ends at Green 13, the square before the Red Corner.
About Slides: All slides will be made by the Host automatically. Remember, you can slide on all colors except your own.
To Move: Each player must post which pawn is moving, noting its starting and ending location in their post.
How about a Challenge: Star Wars Trivia
1 Only The Aalagartassle can ask the questions.
2 There can be only 1 entry per sentinent being for each question. That being will PM The Aalagartassle the answer and avoid cluttering the thread.[Though you can say sent answer on the thread].
3 Each correct answer is worth five points, no loss points for the wrong answer.
4 The first sentinent to get to 50 points wins the game.
5 1 question will be posted every day and last 24 hours only .
6 A tally of the top 3,5,10 depending on the amount of entrants will be be updated each week along with the answers.[suspense!]
7 Questions will be only be sourced from cannon material.
soz jadeeyes none else is interested, not going to happen.
