maybe that's why I can't order post-issues off the site anymore! and right after I figured out I didn't need to use a credit card!

To make a very long story short. I've called the above phone number 3 times to check on my subscription that I placed in December and haven't received yet. On Friday, I was told to call back on Monday. The gal said that she was just hired two weeks ago and everyone was out to lunch.

I recently ordered some action figures from the Wizard's Star Wars store (yes I'm a collector, and yes I do play with them, although not as much as I'd like). As soon as I ordered one set of action figures they put up another set for order. So, I ordered them as well, thinking it would be like Amazon, where whatever products you have ordered are shipped together.

That didn't work, so I e-mailed them and asked if they could just combine my two orders. They said no. They had to much work to do and to little time.

I'm begining to think laying off all those employees wasn't such a good idea!

Whatever the case, I hope WotC is smart enough to stay away from diversifying into shoe importation. ;) [face_plain]

When I subscribed last year, the first issue never came. I ended up E-Mailing them about it, and it took two weeks to get a response.

Not a very good customer service department.

I'm hesistant to jump the gun on Gamer's demise.

With Wizards securing the CCG license - they're must be on the up and up. With Hasbro backing them up, financing must be on the up and up. With Ep II around the corner, SW fever is going to be hitting on all cylinders AGAIN.

For all anyone knows subscription prices are changing? Do we know? Maybe it really is some type of reorganization? Maybe there's a new format around the corner? Maybe we'll see something different in subscriptions like the Dungeon and Polyhedron combo? Or maybe Gamer is coming to an end?

I'll wait and see what public announcements, if any, hit the various media outlets b/f I get worked up and worried.

Suppose if there is a plus point, they may release the stories in a book. Which would be nice for everyone who cant buy it.

what the heck is wrong with Wizards, why can't we ever get a company that knows what they are doing? what are the reasons gamer would be suspended? was there any indication that something was wrong? is it really that hard to publish a magazine like this? other companies can do it, I don't see what the problems over at Wizard are, stupid company

I agree with Ana. IMO, I think that the company is going through growing pains.

    email reply from Gamer contact:

    Xenomaniac,

We are suspending publication on Star Wars Gamer after issue #10. We are
accepting no more subscriptions until the time its ultimate fate is
determined. Your answer: Once we have made a determination on whether #10
is the last issue, we will provide refunds or extend your Star Wars Insider
    subscription.

    Thank you,
    Matt

    >adventure journals lasted 15 issues, gamer >lasted what, 9.

The big diff is - the AJ only came out 4 a year. So those 15 issues came out over over the course of 3.5 years. Gamer made it just a little bit over a year.

    Well, this thoroughly sucks!
I buy the magazine specifically for the RPG content. It has always helped me develop new adventures as well as providing great settings such as Bartyn's Landing in number 7. I was also looking forward to more details about specific sector of space such as the wonderful article on the Endor and Moddell sectors found in issue 9. Stats for a Gorax! :D
I cannot think of any reason for the cancellation. All the comic shops around here sell out a few weeks after each issue is released, so, based on what I have seen, I do not think that weak sales is the reason (although, the situation in other areas could be different).

A great RPG source that will be sorely missed.
