The monument tactic was my ace-up-my-sleeve to get past Rebecca. Dunno what I am going to do next round

 

Spend a bazillion resources. Build this big building that takes forever. If it stands for 10 or so minuties, you win

 

In a regular GBG game you can win in one of three fashions:
1) destroy your opponent with your units
2) collect all the holocrons and store them in your Jedi/Sith temple and keep control of them for a set amount of time
3) build a monument and keep it for a set amount of time.

Each is a legal method of winning, both in the game proper and for this tourney. Holos and monument are just as hard as combat, they just require different tactics. They are both also a good way to throw your opponent off balance and tip the scales.

Honestly, it was bloody brilliant of Flare to use the monument. He researched his opponent, and knew her weakness. She knew it was an allowed tactic in the game, as is spy net and holocrons. For friendly games, outlawing those tactics is fine but here we are playing to win. Hell, I tried to use it against Lando, but didn't have enough resources.

For me, it defeats the purpose of playing. I play to see who has the better base/army. I don't play so someone can win that way. To me, it's completely pointless. If I knew he was going to use that I wouldn't have even played. It's a total waste of time to me. There is no fun challenge in it. At all.

I think it makes the game pointless. PERIOD. IT IS NOT FUN. IT IS NOT CHALLENGING. FOR ME. WHY DO YOU CARE?!?!
I wouldn't have given a crap if I lost by him destroying my base. He would deserve to win then, because it was a tricky base to beat.

And why the hell should I expect someome to win that way? It freaking came out of nowhere. I HAVE NEVER seen ANYONE try to build a monument in ANY of the games I have played, EVER!!! Just cause something is allowed doesn't mean I would expect it if in many games I NEVER SAW ANYONE TRY IT. GOD!

WHY can I not have the opinion that it was a stupid way to win?
And I'd think it was a stupid way to win and stupid in the game if it was used in a game I wasn't even in.

Enough. Back on topic. Nothing more needs to be said about the Rebecca/Flarestorm game. It's over and done with, rehashing the past won't change it.

 

If people had just left me alone I would never have posted again on it.
But I'm sick of being called a whiner.
Half the people around here are whiners.
People whined for their AIM names being put on a list, but they were in their profiles where anyone could get them...
