Hey zac I have Saint's Row 2 as well on my PS TRIPLE. Not online ATM but the phone goes in next week and my DSL should shortly follow. Don't think I have any other online games cept the band games.

 

I call the Room of Requirement.

I'm just playing inFAMOUS right now, and (for those who've played) I got myself hanging from the Sun/Earth/Moon sculpture and just watching myself swing around and around and around. It's kinda hypnotic.

 

is it any good ? I've been considering it......

is it hard core RPG, or more level / action based ?

 

No, there's no RPG elements really. It's just an open-world action game similar to Grand Theft Auto, but you're a superhero who gradually builds up his superpowers as the game progresses. You're given moral choices at various stages, but it always boils down to being super good or super evil, and each path has its own special powers.

There is a demo on PSN, definitely check that out first, it gives a pretty good impression of the game.

I've got a buddy crashing at my place at the moment, so I'm using that opportunity to play a couple of co-op games all the way through and enjoy that different way of playing games. We're storming through RE5 at the moment - cheating slightly by using infinite ammo on a couple of weapons earned during the first run through. I can't imagine how it would be possible to complete the game on hard without using this ability though..........

 

I managed to play through most of RE5 with my sister, except for the final showdown with Wesker. Man that guy was a bitch playing on my own.

 

One thing that annoys me with the PS3 is installing stuff you've downloaded... I'm so used to the Xbox just downloading and then being useful straight away, it seems like an unnecessary step.

Hey Marcus, have you tried any of the download packs for Saints Row 2? I have the Ultor Exposed and the new free item expansion but not tried them out yet.

Just picked up LittleBigPlanet...ridiculously cute. Only played a bit, seems cool though.

 

what is the purpose of that game? always been curious about it but never gave it a go.

Oh I only bought the game last week in EB Games' stocktake sale. Also got Modern Warfare, LBP, Mass Effect and NWN 2. And I've been without DSL for 2 months. Going mental...

 

We've got that EB Games sale here too, that's where I picked up MGS4.

 

I was tempted but I have a copy of MGS3 I've never even opened so I skipped. That will go platinum and be cheap normally shortly anyway I would think.

They stuffed up mine by putting a platinum MGS4 disc in a normal box. But it was only 60 bucks so whatever.

Dunno, the normal game is $69, plus $10 off in the sale.

 

Ah, I was thinking it was the 50% off. I only bought ones with that reduction. $10 isn't enough to convince me, but $60 is.

Yes. Andrew the standard price for a brand new PS3 game here is $100-$120.

 

how preposterous! i mean, i dont know the exchange rate or anything. but still. preposterous.

 

And the typical price in the UK is £30-40.

The exchange rate is around 80 US cents to 1 AUD, making them a total ripoff.
